I'm so tired of the Bioware wouldn't have made the EC because time and cost.

The backlash was ridiculous. I'm sure EA told them to make it go away to keep sales going. The EC is essentially a slide show with a short monologue and a tiny morsel of cut scenes. It was the least possible amount of content they felt they could get away with and quite the fans so they could continue with whatever plan they have

You fundamentally don't understand that just because there might be illusory elements doesn't mean the ending is irrelevant, much like the Harry Potter series.

It doesn't matter if the illusion had great message and all. If it was an illusion from Harby's beam, it means that TIM & Reapers are still alive, the war is not over at all and the story hasn't finished. The game had no ending.

Yes. That's exactly what we're all saying.

Thats not what I'm saying. Ending on a cliffhanger is still an ending, whether you like it or not.

Assassin's Creed does this with every ending and that's just one game series. Halo does this too.

Wait what? Halo 2 was the only Halo with an actual cliffhanger.

Luckily, I'm on top of the cliff. Posted Image

Halo 3 was a cliff-hanger. So was Halo 1 technically.

i wonder who it came from more?  The ones who played all 3 or the ones who just played 3. I didn't have a problem with the original ending but I did appreciate the fleshing out of the EC with the ending, though if they did live action instead of snapshots I would have preferred that more

Edit-I played all 3

The reveal will most likely happen only in spring. Logic in this - ME3 - marketed for a wider auditory, as best plase to jump into the saga. Weird, right? Given that ME3 was supposed to be the end. Generally the best place to jump into something is right before the most awesome thing in the story happens. So now they are releasing the trology pack, and releasing ME1 for PS3 users. - - it would bo so the new players now won't have any doubts about jumping in right before the ending. - they now can have the complete expirience, and at lower prices. Right? Wrong. The trilogy pack isn't really a complete pack. It doesn't include such highlights of the story as Kasumi, Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker, Arrival, From Ashes, Leviathan, and yet to be releases ME3 DLCs such as Omega and possible others. Not to mention the weapon packs for ME2 and ME3 and alternate appearense packs. That is a lot of ommited content, don't you think? And it is not exaclty that cheap - they still cost 560 bw points and 800 in case of LotSB. gun packs are still 160 points.
They will give time for everyone to playthrough the whole trilogy, by all the DLCs, and only then they will make the reveal - this will be the final DLC, and after it comes out everyone will be again hyped about the next ME game.

good point. The biggest reason the wii U isn't getting the trilogy yet might be because of your reasoning and plus it helps people get on board with the game. If they did the trilogy up front it would be a long wait plus it may not sell as well

Yeah, technically. But like Blur said, they were only cliffhangers in the sense that there was an unresolved plot arc, but not the main one. I.E. Chief being lost. In fact, most stories are cliffhangers in that sense.

In ME3, according to IT the main plot arc is unfinished, not just a minor arc.

Edit: Gonna go play MP and/or homework. See you later.

I wonder how the trilogy will incorporate the dlcs for ME2? I have them all but they're all dl files. Will they do something like ME3 and let you just install it from the menu showing you own it? I agree that doing the ME 1 dlc on disc is better because of the evil release the dl code we have to go through to install and run it. That I think is the biggest reason I'd want the trilogy pack

Yes it was. I mismatched them looking through the tlk file. Don't know why aren't they used :(

@ demersel The PS3 version of the trilogy does include the Kasumi, Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC's.

I'm guessing that's because the original PS3 version included all the main DLC.

Not to mention that they admitted to having to almost remake ME1 on ME3's technology for PS3 - that is kinda huge. I almost wish i had PS3 for this.

Yes, cause that is their deal with Sony. "Yet to be" WiiU's version - not so sure.

The only special thing about the trilogy pack is the fancy packaging. Not that it isn't cool, mind you.

This was one of my first thoughts about the pack. Get everyone to play through the whole trilogy again, just in time for a reveal around March.

BatmanTurian - Six moths ago Sony patented the technology that allows multiple users watch different programs on the same TV set at the same time in the same room. You might wanna look into that....

I remember early on, people were speculating that the beam didn't lead to the Citadel, but to inside Harbinger for indoctrination. I just tried to choke the vomit back down and said, "So Harbinger wants Shepard inside him? I didn't think the ending could get worse but..."

QFT. I can think of other products marketed toward them though.

Again, so very true. FFS, the BBC had a story about the fan outrage to ME3. I didn't even think it was possible for fans to get so pissed about a video game ending that news agencies, including the world's largest, look at it and go "this deserves attention." Of course they tried to soothe the nerdrage. If you seriously think FMVs of a still picture (I still cannot believe that happened) took months to make... I don't even know what to say to you. "Fetch" maybe?
