Well, I think a thank you to all the people that got this Indoctrination Theory is in order.
I just finished my first ME3 playthrough, chose destroy but I didn't get the "breath scene", ( no EC installed as I wanted to see for myself what caused such an uproar among the fanbase ) and after reading this a lot of things make much more sense.
I guess I didn't pay enough attention on my playthroughs, but at the same time I think Bioware was unable to convey what was going on if such a large part of the players "didn't get" the ending.
Have my doubts though, if only because Bioware itself hasn't cofirmed it and I see no real reason to keep silent if its is correct...
Welcome. Always nice to see open minded newcomers. Stick around a bit or dig into some older posts if you'd like to allay those doubts somewhat. The amount of evidence, even if most of it is circumstancial, is truly mindboggling. I've been with IT since March and I'm still occasionally seeing new stuff that makes me go, "holy crap!" Times like this I keep thinking we should do a group vote to decide the best pieces of evidence so we can show only the quick but convincing version to newcomers. Personally, I think the eye thing is the best single piece. In case you (or anyone else reading) is unaware, Shepard's eyes get that weird symbol that TIM's have when you pick control or synthesis. TIM got those eyes from contact with a powerful indoctrination device in the comics.
I don't really think they wanted most people to "get it" the first time through. I think it was supposed to be like a Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense thing. Virtually no one figured it out until the movie flat out told you at the end. But the clues were there so that if you went back and looked with the idea in mind, it was crystal clear. The only difference is that they haven't flat out told us yet.
