Interesting point: Your choice at the Crucible is not saved. How on earth are we going to import our choice to ME 4 (assuming there is one)?

It wouldn't be a problem for PC users since they would still have their ME3 saves on their harddrive when they play ME4, but for the console gamers they might be screwed if ME4 is brought to the next Generation of consoles.

Not necessarily, When the Xbox 360 was upgraded to the new slim edition, the hard drive was fixed in place and without memory card ports. However with a Memory cable (cant remember exact name), you were able to transfer your Original xbox profile, along with all savegames and xbox live account onto the newer console. It would be at least possible IMO to be able to do a similar thing for the next generation console.

Probably you will just upload your saves alongside with your account stats and then download everything on the new console.

What do you mean with "the hard drive was fixed in place" ?
You can replace it as easily as with the Elite consoles.

lol yeah after a bit or reading it turns out you can :P, but anyway as a proof of concept you are still able to transfer the data from one Xbox kind to the other, without needing to swap the hard drives. So hypothetically if a ME4 was released it would still be able to carry over our savegames thanks to data transfers.

Maybe the trilogy taught them the danger of including too many variables that can drastically alter imports and they decided it was too much trouble to keep up with in the end, ie: there won't be an import function for ME4. If ME4 features an all-new story with an all-new protagonist then it might not need to "know" what Shepard did in her story other than the basics like "stopped the Reapers and united the galaxy". The details would be, ahem, lost in time. This is how KOTOR 2 continued on after KOTOR 1.

And wow 18 pages into a new thread, already behind. Anything new happen since the end of Overwatch?

I agree with ME4 starting from scratch. Way too many plot variables to keep track of for a ME1+ME2+ME3+ME4 import. Would redefine insanity for the developers.

Next game should be built for next gen consoles. Not hanging onto 2005 hardware or so. Maybe even on the Unreal 4 engine. That would be sweet.

Does anyone have link or copy of that really funny version of the Catalyst conversation someone made, where everything was replaced with forum stuff? You could destroy, control, or join with the trolls, but no matter what you did the forum rules would be destroyed. It was really funny Image IPB

Yeah, I got it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: Here you go.

???: "Refresh your page."

Moderator Shepard: "What? Where am I?"

???: "The Indoctrination Theory Thread."

Moderator Shepard: "Who... Who are you?"

???: "I am the internet."

Moderator Shepard: "I thought the BSN was the internet."

The Internet: "No, the BSN is part of me."

Moderator Shepard: "I need to stop the Trolls, do you... know how I can do that?"

The Internet: "Perhaps, I control the Trolls. They are my solution..."

Moderator Shepard: "The solution to what?"

The Internet: "Spam. Idiots will always spam the intelligent..."

The Internet: "But we found a way to stop that from happening, a way to restore order for the next thread."

Moderator Shepard: "By derailing the entire thread?"

The Internet: "No. We troll the intelligent, leaving the less intelligent ones alone. Just like we left you the last time we were here."

Moderator Shepard: "But you trolled the rest..."

The Internet: "We helped them ascend so they can make way for new users, storing the old user in troll form."

Moderator Shepard: "I think we'd rather keep our own form."

The Internet:"No, you can't... Without us to stop it, idiots would destroy all
intelligence. We've created this cycle so that never happens. That's the
solution."

Moderator Shepard: "So now what?"

The Internet: "We find a new solution."

Moderator Shepard: "Yeah, but how?"

The Internet: "The Topic... changed me. Created new... Possibilities... But I can't make them happen. I know you've thought about banning us.

You can ban all the Trolls if you want. Including the idiots... But even your posts are partly pointless."

Moderator Shepard: "But the Trolls will be banned?"

The Internet: "Yes, but the discussion won't last. Soon, new users will act like idiots and then the chaos will come back."

Moderator Shepard: "Maybe..."

The Internet: "Or do you think you can win an argument against us?"

Moderator Shepard: "Huh. So... the users who tried to debate were right after all."

The Internet: "Yes, but they could never could have gotten us to shut up because we already controll-olololol-ed them."

Moderator Shepard: "But I can..."

The Internet: "You will debate with us, but you will lose any sense of intelligence you have."

Moderator Shepard: "But the Trolls will leave?"

The Internet: "Yes. There is another solution."

Moderator Shepard: "Yeah?"

The Internet: "Synthesis."

Moderator Shepard: "And that is?"

The Internet: "Add your computer data to the internet.
Everything on your hard drive will be absorbed and then sent out onto BSN. The chain reaction will unite all of BSN into being pissed about Viruses. A new... nerd rage."

Moderator Shepard: "I... don't know."

The Internet: "Why not? Computer Viruses are already part of you; can you imagine your PC without them?"

Moderator Shepard: "And there will be... peace?"

The Internet:  "The cycle will end. Synthesis is the ultimate nerd rage on BSN, but we need each other to make it happen.  You have a difficult decision. Releasing the energy of the Topic will end the cycle, but it will also remove the forum rules.   The paths are open -- but you have to choose."

Bad comic reviewer. A game designer appeared in a comic and he added "I'm working on the ending of Mass Effect 3 at the moment, I've got a feeling people will love it!"

Yeah, but it feels odd:
When multiple players discuss it, work on videos, rigorious flycam analysis, try to interpretate it: OMG you're grasping for straws lol
Then le random BSN user pops and writes a nice essay on indoc with fancy formatting: Hey that makes sense and is cool.

Someone there even posted that that OP's analysis was better than IT...

In case someone misinterpretates my intention behin critisizing that thread as being a whiny brat or someone who claims ownership of a story interpretation.

There is something like scientific quoting out of intellectual sportsmanship.
He doesn't ever reference IT, without referencing it he basically claims to have come up with that interpretation all by him or herself (why post that only now?).
And that's what the funky smell about that thread is. One might even call it dirty journalism. :D

But hey, whatever. I don't want to get too off-topic by complaining about another thread.

So on topic:

@TSA: please put "spoiler" warnings above your post when you post something from the dialogs in the EC files. Pleaaase...

So I'm back to the "I want to believe!" stage.. But I just can't see them re-ECing the EC endings.
Leviathan, various other story DLC.. 'Saving throws,' I've seen them called.. But, even after doing those side missions, you'll still get beamed up to the Citadel to confront (conform to?) Starbrat..
Woe. Woe I say.

The Leviathan DLC adds dialogue with the kid, all the DLCs will most likely add to the ending. I even had that idea before the Leviathan leak Image IPB

I see them doing one of two things:

-Adding more and more IT hints, and reasons not to trust the kid, etc, then have a big reveal DLC that happens after Shep wakes up.

-Adding more and more IT hints, and reasons not to trust the kid, etc, to the point where a proper clarification DLC just isn't required.

I'd obviously prefer the former, but I see either as very possible.

It wouldn't ... "re-EC" the endings, if anything it would add to the aftermath, Potentially, more clues would be added (if IT is at true in some form) to the current endings, little things like hearing a Reaper growl when making your choices or the Catalyst's eyes flashing yellow.

But, the most gamechanging thingthey could add would be after your decisions, something like Shepard getting up out of that pile of rubble and shaking him/herself off.

Really though, we won't know until we see it, and I doubt that's any time soon.
