So, without spoiling things for others, did you like the ending of Halo 4? I for one did not particularly care for it.

Ahh yes, "satisfying endings"...

... have we dismissed those claims?

I would say yes.  You know, since dismissing a claim automatically makes it true.

I didn't think it was bad.  I actually kind of liked it.  It resolved the story, but left things open enough that they could do a sequel.

This is supposedly the first game in the trilogy, so there will be a sequel.

Yknow what this forum really needs? Spoiler tags. Hell, even 4chan has spoiler tags.

Yeah, they announced a long time ago it will be another trilogy, but I fully expect a standalone Halo 7 after to finish the series, because... it's Halo.

Even after beating Halo 4, I think Reach is still my favorite Halo game. I'm pretty sure that makes me part of an extremely tiny minority.

In all fairness, Microsoft did a much better job with promoting Halo 4 than did EA with ME3. MS rented Liechtenstein changing it into Halo World for 1 day and even launched a UFO over London.

I guess we could turn the text gray so you can't read it (like this!) unless highlighting it, but spoiler tags would be nice.

Yeah, but color tags dont like to stay on through quoting, so it wouldnt work too well.

Edit: as me quoting you has proven! :D

Also why does joker say Arcturus prime relay, when we are clerly in Sol? I thought the Sol relay had a different name?

when does he say that?

Ditto. Earth's/Sol's relay is the Charon Relay. Unless there's another one we don't know about. Which part of ME 1 are you referring to?

Has anyone thought about it that the Sol relay may be leading to the Sol system and not in the Sol system?

i did but then when you look at where you're going to - Eden Prime- it makes sense that you have to go through Arcturus to get to Eden Prime. 1 Charon relay

Has anybody beat it in Legendary yet?
I want to know if the hours i´m going to spent in it are worth it for the secret ending

I looked up the Legendary ending on YouTube.  It's identical to the Heroic ending (Which is what I experienced), except you get to see a brief glimpse of part of the Chief's face.

So, (without spoilers) holy crap there are a lot of Mass Effect parallels in Halo 4!

Just in terms of voices, the main antagonist is voiced by Keith Szarabajka, who talks just like Harbinger throughout the game, with words like "inevitable", "ascension", and more, while addressing John as "human" several times. It was great Posted Image

There's also: Jennifer Hale (FemShep), Steve Blum (Grunt), Fred Tatasciore (Saren/Balak), Troy Baker (Kai Leng), and Laura Bailey (many secondary characters in ME3).

If you've played it, you'll know there are a lot of other things too.

Well I know for a fact that a Narrative Designer for Halo 4 has played all the Mass Effect games, and I've even discussed the ending with her.

And she's well aware of Indoctrination Theory.

Yet at the same time, her first playthrough was at least Synthesis. That said, so was mine.

The first time I saw the ending, I chose to synthesize my face with my palm.

My goggle!
Well considering most, if not all, of bioware's games are story driven I would have thought they would have spoiler tags. Don't read me.

Really, if I hadn't known about IT, odds are I would have chosen Synthesis the first time, too.  I mean, at face value, it SEEMS like the best ending.  Then you realize that it's galactic rape, and it just doesn't seem as appealing somehow. ;)

Yeah she picked Synthesis before learning much about Indoc Theory.

Regardless of IT or Literal, she really likes the ME3 ending.

Dunno whether that's a good or bad thing for Halo fans :P

Sooo wondering what people thought of what was written on the strategy guide about the ending. I posted that near the middle of page 1797.

While it's not my absolute favourite Halo campaign, Reach is up there for me. But in terms of MM and gameplay Reach is the worst, they butchered the weapon sandbox Posted Image

Huh, that's really cool! What's really interesting is that at the end of mission 7 all I could think of was "This is where ME3 ends". Mission 8, start to finish, is exactly what we're missing.

No wonder I thought there were synthesis undertones at one part in Halo 4.

BleedingUranium, yeah I really want to get the game now, just to see.

I don't know much of Halo story (I kinda played Halo, mostly played Halo 2 and much of Halo 3 but that's it, and I didn't pay a lot of attention), but since I know a dev, it helps.

@Byne, oh really? In a pro or anti Synthesis way?

I met her when she was working on Rift, as the Defiant Lore Lead, so she's very pro-tech, regardless of any messages against it (like indoctrination in Mass Effect).

Yeah, its from the DVD. Theres also a short clip of North and South after the dual sniper vs missile pod fight. Has North giving South a piggyback ride and reminding her he'll always have her back, and she says she'll always watch his back too.

Lying ****. <_<

Also this, because Carolina in a dress is great.

You know, I heard people arguing over--err, a controversial topic the other day.  The crux of one's argument was their right to make decisions about their own body.  I instantly thought "wow, must not be a synthesis supporter!"  Ever since, it's been hard not to jokingly make comparisons been synthesis and said controversial topic.  It'd be so much fun, but it'd just devolved instantly into an argument about the real life issue and that's a big no-no.
