Hey, did you guys see this article on the omega DLC already?

4 hour DLC? Is this a joke!?

And apparently, Omega isn't a hub world as well. According to the article, at least.

Spoilers-

youre reading into it wrong it's a hub just like leviathan with Bryson's lab. You just can't go back once you make your final choice:

Omega is not a hub players will be able to revisit once the DLC is complete.

Within Omega, though, is plenty to do. There's a central hub, Aria's bunker, which you use to upgrade her drug smuggling operation. From here you trigger side mission as you do in the main game. Outside the hub are four main missions

I know that. I was referring to when the DLC itself was finished, we wouldn't be able to visit Omega anymore.

You're either misremembering, or you're quite possibly the slowest ME player on the planet. Theres no way Leviathan takes 10 hours.

Wow. They've been working on omega since ME3 released but already had ideas near the end of the ME3 development cycle

I can only speak for myself:
Looking how others see it and looking if I've misunderstood something (Which might be a diffrence to some others).

What I found? Black and white. I'm a hater for most of the people here, because I don't like the ending. If I take what the kid is talking about serious, there is no ending for me. Destroy? Geth gone. I think they're alive so - Genocide. Control? No way I choose that, I've a real life friend who suffered greatly under a regime of control. Synthesis? Come on - speaking the same language and everything is fine (simply put)? That's just stupid.

In fact there is no ending for me, but I like ME. So what am I supposed to do? I'll keep looking for answers.
So I stick arround ;)

Ok.  Well some people do think that the Geth and EDI survive Destroy -  note that Child says nothing more than that the Crucible will 'target' synthetics, and they actually removed the pre-EC line that specifically claimed you would kill the Geth.  However the threat is always there, so you are at the very least risking Genocide, and for me I must admit that I thought they would die too even though I didn't play pre-EC.

For me I thought that the ending choices had to have serious consequences, because otherwise there wouldn't have been a choice.  Lots of players think that Bioware should've included a 'morally right' way to end the war.  But if there was such a choice, then there wouldn't really have been any choice at all IMO.  Everyone would pick the 'morally right' choice unless they were playing a 3rd-person psychopath perspective.  It would've been the same old 'choice' of playing through, picking the 'good' ending, then doing another playthrough and picking the 'bad' ending.

I think ME was supposed to be about genuine choices, not just the right BLUE choice and then the haha evil RED choice.  So the ending had to at least ask a question of your resolve, even if one of the answers did seem more compelling.  The Destroy choice is the straightforward, no-thought-applied choice, but sometimes the simplest choice is the right choice.  Sometimes you want a soldier saving the galaxy rather than a politician or philosopher.

Anyway, I'm rambling now.  I admitted earlier in my convo with Masster Blaster that they did let down a lot of fans with the ending.  I liked it but that doesn't mean others should too.  And you also said at the end of your post that you're "looking for answers" - the only people who drive me nuts here are the ones who aren't looking for anything other than an excuse to rage at Bioware and anyone who dares defend their work.

it's a standalone story that can be played even after you ended the trilogy. We asked ourselves this question: if I've finished the trilogy why would I play Omega? The answer we have is, it becomes an inside look on the Mass Effect universe

That's what they said. They make it sound strange to play it after the events of the 3 games. Though they're probably doing this to get people back in the game. After all EA always says "It's in the game" lol

Oooo look:

Despite having such smart people working on Mass Effect BioWare hasn't been able to prevent all the DLC being revealed ahead of time. Ever since Mass Effect 3 was released fans have found new information from the game files, hinting at character names, place names, new weapons and all the rest of it. It meant we knew about Leviathan and Omega before they were announced.

Ok going to put the end of the article because there's a lot of things they're hinting at. Plus if we work hard Omega will have some hidden extras we can see. EDIT. this is right after the part in my last post:

“It's technical reasons,” Condominas says with a wink by way of explanation. “And we're getting better at avoiding that. For example, Omega, we knew we wanted to do something about it, but it wasn't clear what, and we knew we wanted to hint at it in the Citadel. But once the disc is physically shipped we cannot write anything. So we had to put a number of things in the disc for the player to be able to go back to the Citadel and have a discussion and the discussion with Aria would change. This is how it happens.”

Then there are simple virtual items that must be included ahead of time. “We share a lot of things between DLCs, like the weapons. If you have a weapon on Omega or Leviathan you want to carry on it needs to be detected. Like I say, we're getting better at avoiding it.”

Ultimately, Condominas is philosophical about the whole thing. “It shows how people are still passionate. They are still pretty hard to find, but I'm sure players will do that when this comes out too.”

Perhaps they won't need to. Game files have already shown that an upcoming DLC is centred around the Citadel, Mass Effect's iconic centre of the universe. So, what's all that about then?

“I can't comment on that.”

Well, I played on Insanity and took my time. Posted Image Maybe it was like 8-9 hours.

I still dont believe it really took 8-9, even on insanity and taking your time.

5 hours at MOST I could buy. Maybe. Even that is stretching plausibility. ;)

I remember TSA posting Leviathan scripts back in May/June. But Omega was well-hidden until BioWare disclosed it. There were rumors but nothing concrete.

What we all might want to do is pay tons of attention to all the little dialogs and ambient conversations on the citadel. Several of them might hint towards what they're planning after omega particularly if something was already written on the disc like how Aria was about Omega

Cut dialogue included in the base game begs to differ.

Took me 2/3 days to finish it.

I made sure I did EVERYTHING and took my time to make choices... not that they were worth anything in the end :(
