On all but one and a half of my Shepards (default, import, male, female, paragon, whatever) I've always romanced Liara >< I can't help it.
The other time was Ashley, mostly because I wanted to see what it was like, how convos changed in 2 and 3. Broke my heart saying No to Liara in ME1 though...
The half time may have been a bug; renegade femshep, 1 Liara, SB Liara pre-Suisice mission, waited to flirt with Garrus till after, 2 Garrus, 3 Liara. Much less heart-wrenching feels saying no to Garrus in 3, he's still yur bro.
I never romance Liara if I'm playing MaleShep. For some reason I dont like the MaleShep/Liara relationship as much as the FemShep/Liara one. And not its not just because Girl on Girl is Hot. I actually think they're a better couple.
Its gotten to the point that I frequently forget that Liara is even a possible LI for MaleShep.
...
They're the same person. God, what is wrong with the "FemShep 4 life!!!1" crowd?
On a related note, the romance choices in general kind of suck for this game. Hell, the series, but especially the last game. They finally stopped pandering to the religious right and decided to put same sex romances in (Liara-FemShep doesn't count because asari are monogendered, so sayth WoG). But apparently in order to do so, they just had to throw a few extremely underdeveloped crewmates at us and nothing else. Traynor, Cortez, and Allers simply don't have enough of a role in the game (and never existed before the end of the series) to be well developed characters. People that aren't on the ground team don't get enough mic time to be important enough for a real romance. That's why Kelly Chambers "didn't count" in ME2 no matter how many types of lice you got from her. The old romances didn't get much attention either, mostly just one nice scene where the magic words could finally be uttered (and somehow you can even miss the magic words by picking paragon choices?!). And let's not get into Jacob. Unless it's with a power drill.
So what's new with IT guys? Missed a day or two on Skyrim obsession. I'm assuming someone has gone, "Oh my God! I think Hackett is indoctrinated!", but that's just a given.

She'll say she understands, sure, but we all know thats just because she wants her true love to be happy.
She'll be extremely sad on the inside though. EXTREMELY. I hope you're happy with yourself!
But seriously, why romance Tali at all only to break her heart in ME3?
Because, Byne, my fellow, Brannigan Shepard was dissapointed at the galaxy around him by the end of ME1, after everything he'd gone through to save it, so much that he gave the order to sacrifice the Council to the Geth out of petty revenge. Ashley saw the man she'd fallen for change before her eyes, he was still a hero, without a doubt and she may have made the same call in his situation, but she knew him well enough to know he was different now. So she began to distance herself while onboard the Normandy, something she regretted even as it was happening. Before she should try and make up or it, the Normandy was under attacked and not long later...Brannigan was lost. For two years Ashley would bury her feelings, kicking herself everytime they came up for not spending more time with Brannigan, until she saw him again.
When Shepard woke up, two years later, he found he was still pissed at the galaxy. Everything he worked for undone, the Repears nothing more than a myth, his closest friends scattered. Then, on Horizon, he find out he only woman he ever loved didn't trust him anymore. He started seeing things differnetly, feeling differently. Pushing a merc out the window just didn't make him feel any more. He was lonely, bitter, about his choices, constantly asking himself what he could have done differently. Would the galaxy really be any better off? Would Ashely still love him? Through all this, Tali was there for him, at his side when a few certain ex-squadmatee chose not to be. He found a comfort around her he hadn't felt in years, and he began seeing things a new way. He should've treated his resurrection as a second chance, a time to atone, but instead he squandered it on a bad attitude and an alliance with a known terrorist group. But it wasn't too late to do the right thing, make the galaxy a better place, for Tali and .... For Ashely... he would think to himself after their night.
He realized he still loved her, wanted to see her and be with her again. But what about Tali? He couldn't just break her heart, he cared too much for her. With the Collector base destroyed, and the Reaper invasion stalled at the Bahak system, Brannigan was left to his thoughts in a room back on Earth, compliments of the Alliance. Saving the galaxy came at a price, he knew, at if that meant being a "guest" of an Alliance facility he knew now it was worth the price. Ashley must've been station nearby, and Tali and the rest of his crew off in their respectiv places in the galaxy. It was always at the front of his mind during those 6 months, who to chose, right next to what to do when the Reapers finally came. And after those 6 months he still didn't know.
All it took was one mission to Mars to tell him that Ashely Williams still loved him. One mission to realize that if she died, there was nothing left for him to live for but to kill the Illusive Man and the Reapers. He didn't want that, he wanted to live for Ashely. So, he made his choice, vowing to tell Tali next time they met, and prayed to whatever Creators she'd forgive him.
Edit: Brannigan Shepard's an emotional* one, no?

Can't remember if it was two days ago or not, but have did you see the tweets about that Bioware guy "finally" finishing a mass of logic for an upcominc DLC? Nohting conclusive, other than it's "like nothing we've seen before" but aside from that I havnet noticed anything IT related lately popping up.
Unless you want to count the BLOPS2 disc 2 fiasco as an attempt to further indoctrinate gamers to playing Mass Effect. . . /shrug

Sovereign: You are not Saren.
Garrus: What is that, some kind of VI interface?
Sovereign: Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
Garrus: I don't think this is a VI...
How did C-Sec let a master detective like Garrus get away?

Because it's not like women tend to be more open with emotions or anything. Speaking of the difference in voice acting, one thing Hale does that really bothers me is that N7 armor conversation with Legion. She's pissed for no apparent reason whereas Meer just seems curious. Like the dialogue options would imply. My Shepard is curious, not pissed.

Byne but Tali can get with Garrus. So Tali can find somebody after words, wel if he is alive.
Garrus would have to die in his sleep. If death comes for him when he's awake, there's gonna be a fight.

How didn't he get that? I did not see the movie, nor did I read the novel. I only watched the trailer and understood that "everything was connected" (they say that even in the trailer!).BatmanTurian wrote...

Well, Ebert is kind of an idiot. I mean, he had to watch Cloud Atlas like 3 times to get it... and he admitted he still didn't quite get it after the third time. He's kind of overrated.
From the trailer I saw it looked... odd. What is it really about that this guy didn't get?
Just going to answer this really quick before I go to bed. Well, the problem is that I can't answer it without spoilering the movie actually. But what he didnt get was how all the characters, times, and places were connected. I watched it in one sitting and it was obvious. I'll probably watch it a few more times because it is so beautiful. It was supposed to be unfilmable, but they brought it to the big screen perfectly.

I mean Hackett doesn't want to blow up the base because Shepard's in there, yet Shepard says " It's okay, just take Cerberus down." Gerrel however just says " don't hold everything back."
Maybe Shepard starts to see things right after Thessia.
Because for some reason again Shepard tries to contact the Asari commandos, but no luck. They all thought Shepard was dead ironic right.
Holy crap it just hit me. That Asari you hear over the Radio " Did Shepard make it? "
My god there're all gone. Did we get anyone to the beam?
Did Shepard make it?
It all makes sense. Shepard is Reliving his/her nightmer.
Shepard over heard the Asari's com, but couldn't say anything, but watched/ heard the Reapers kill them all. Now Shepard just lost everyone around him/her and he/she can't do anything about it.
