Bioware you clever devils, if you think about it, if Harbinger used his real voice, something in Shepard's mind will tell him/her that something isn't right. Now Bioware knew that the fans/ us would check to see if Bioware masked the guy that plays Harbinger. Which then they did male, female Shepard voice actors, and combined them with the child's voice to create a real voice.

Shepard's own voice gives him/her the options disguised at the brat. The reapers use you against yourself. Your fears become their tools. When you think about it, control and synthesis ARE shepard's fears in a way because shepard fought against krogan and geth that were under saren and sovereign's control so there is that element of synthesis (meddling with genetics) and then fought Saren who was synthesis and became soveriegn for the boss battle. More synthesis. Worst fear. Then all the heretics under control were control.

There are many aspects to control and synthesis and why they became options. They all stem from shepard's fears, desires, and needs. That is what indoctrination preys upon. And all of these things have been shown in battle or said by characters or witnessed in one way or another by shepard. The collectors are probably very much tied into shepard's fears and synthesis. Remember, that was quite the reveal in ME2. It's all connected seamlessly and it really boils down to the ruthless calculus of war. Probably the most relevant conversations were those with Garrus, which makes sense since odds are Garrus will be your teammate (pretty hard to kill him in ME2 as I understand) and was there from minute one before you are even a spectre. They also seem to parallel each other characterwise. Garrus is an outsider renegade in ME2 when he comes on board and that is where Shepard is at as well. In ME1 they are struggling to get saren and both have a strong sense of needing to stop him moreso than any other character. Then in ME3 they are both focused on saving their worlds while also saving the galaxy. The ruthless calculus of war is the greatest struggle for most players, I think.

Garrus is Shepard-lite and could have been what Shepard was if Shepard didn't exist. Maybe.

C'mon, people. You can do this.

how about this. I will watch it, if you take a look into my post above this post. Deal,

So BioWare might've been inspired by the Legend of the Seeker. It's really similar to what they did with the Catalyst.

They did use a child at the end and the reason given was that the Seeker was so good natured that he would feel compelled to help the boy and wouldn't mistrust him. Quite true of the Seeker. Shepard, however, varies based on the player as does one's view of the brat. For some, it might have had a sort of innocent feel, but to me it felt like manipulative because it was an AI. It could have presented itself as an adult AI. It could have presented itself in a myraid of other forms but it chose a human boy that we had been seeing. That really bothered me, especially since it had this whole switch and bait thing going on with these other options that seemed to come out of nowhere at the time, but looking back, they clearly came out of shepard's experiences throughout the trilogy but most notably from ME3. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like it when the image of a child presents options that are beyond nearly any child's capacity to comprehend them. It's not right or real. It's the sort of thing that happens in a dream.

@Paxxton- If you are referring to "They will succumb and ascend, or be annihilated.", I can't put my finger on what Shepard says that is similar.

May I have a hint?

We really shouldn't engage the trolls. It's like trying to reason with indoctrinated people. If they come to our way of logic they'll just have to kill themselves like Saren and Tim.

Nah, we don't really try to reason with them, most won't get it. But it's a good way to practice summing up what IT's all about Posted Image

Also, I played the end again yesterday, and London has more post-end clues than IT clues!

Post please! pretty, pretty please! I need some more interesting things to ponder.

The entire point of the FOB seems to be to tell the player that it's not really the end of the story. It's filled with:

-Not our last fight
-Shepard promises everyone he'll make it back
-Drinks later/bar in Rio

There's soooo much.

Maybe, after realizing that Harbinger is in our head, we have to fight our way out (comparable to the Geth Consesus mission or Overlord) and can get our hands on important information about the Crucible and about weaknesses of the Reapers. We could find out that the Crucible is a trap - designed by the Reapers

Uhm... Haven't we basicly done that already? Think about it - imagine, Shepard waking up in that rubble - and realising that he had just fought off an indoctrination attempt - What did he see? what is the thing that happens in all the endings? The relays blow up! regardless of the ending when he wakes up - he thoughts - Hey, when we use the crucible it will blow up all relays!  The galaxy will by shattered into thousands of isolated pockets, with reapers already all over it! Besides it onle affects the area in the relay network space! What if there are more reapers waiting in the dakr space?? Even one would suffice to harvest devided and shaken by the war galaxy. (in fact we know for a fact that one would suffice to harvest a completely fine galaxy - Leviathan)

Love how they're b*tching about indoctrination being in the canon now. " Oh noes, all the bad guys are indoctrinated! This is just bad writing! There should be bad guys that aren't indoctrinated!" convienently forgetting Aria and the gangs.
They don't like it in the canon because it's inconvienent to their headcanon.

What a joke this forum is.

So basically..How dare the Reapers, the main antagonists of the series, be the main antagonists of the series??

I don't even.. What?

Wait, so they're so convinced of the literal endings that they now thing the rest of the series is the problem?

This. Combine it with the breath scene + tell me another story about Shepard + continue Shepards story though further downloadable content text message - they straight out tell you IN GAME that there will be more story after priority earth...
Drinks later in Rio. And then the Earth MP DLC has a rio map, that is nothing like anything in the game. And the one that looks exaclty like Panhea installation, where Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Ending take place. And this happens four mounths after the huge ending dabacle where public accusses ME3's ending to be a cheap DE knock off.
Sure, this is all just a coincidence.

Well they just make it up as they go, don't they? And we're the ones with the issues? It's like watching minds crumble under the pressure of having to use logic. One by one, they all will fall. Pretty soon they'll have it so the series never existed or better yet, so the reapers were really the good guys and damn that shepard for trying to destroy them. Shepard SHOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD! THEY NEEDED TO BE HARVESTED. SPECIES MUST BE CLEANSED FROM THE GALAXY EVERY 50K YEARS TO MAKE ROOM FOR NEW SPECIES AND MORE CLEANSING!

OMG! I get it now. Thank god for the literalists. I finally see that the reapers are just really caring cuddlefish that want to keep everything orderly.

Firebase Rio - Mass Effect 3 - giant artificial sinkhole in the middle of the ocean.
Posted Image

Panchaea - Deus Ex Human Revolution (where the enidng takes place) - giant artificial sinkhole in the middle of the ocean

What is really interesting - The Rio base - that giant sinkhole in the middle of the sea does look very much like something we had encountered in ME3. And it is the Mars base. It is also a giant sinkhole.

It even has the similiar tower!

Isnt it suspicious, that the two maps in ME3 multiplayer that do not have singleplayer sources are Firbase Rio and Firebase Hydra. And both have some mysterious huge water installations?

Uhm...... I thought that was painfully obvious?   Hm.... maybe I DO need to explain points in my posts more, and not always assume that people here will catch up on their own.... Maybe then my reputation of a raving babbling guy throwing random stuff at the wall to see what sticks will go away.... :?, But then again, I'm so lazy, and hate typing and structuring walls of text. :D

 From the wiki on Panchaea!
Panchaea [/b](Greek:Παγγαία) is a vast installation, located in the middle of the Arctic Ocean, designed by the eccentric billionaire and proprietor of modern mechanical augmentationsHugh Darrow, to stem the advance of global warming. The Arctic installation is almost operational, and at least four are being built around the world - one in the Indian ocean, the south Pacific, the Caribbean Sea, and one off the coast of Brazil.

It's okay, I'm sure I would have noticed if I'd played Deus Ex; it is painfully obvious.

And people doubt that Bioware is masters at trolling or that they would do such a thing...

- Yo, Dawg, I heard you didn't like our cheap deas ex ending knock off!
How about our cheap level design of a Deaus Ex ending level knock off as a new multiplayer map insted? I bet you'll love it!

Holy crap, this just keeps getting better. Looking at the map in the article, the one of the coast of Brazil is almost certainly beside Rio! Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image Also, if I read the page right, it's actually some kind of Mass Accelerator or something?

The purpose and funcion of this thing is never really revealed - It is supposed to do something with global warning, but come on, in a story about conspiracies, A giant facility to counter globel warming? Sounds legit.
It does have to do something with geotermal energy and tapping directly into planet's core, and it does have some kind of particle accelerator bouilt in it. But that is about all we can tell about it.

Well the thing that I'm thinking right now is that we have firebase Rio - giant installation on water, and Firebase Hydra - giant installation on water. We don't really know the perpose of either. and what else has ties with water in ME universe? For some reason Leviathans come to mind.

Trololololol. Someone at Bioware has a sense of humour, at least.

A very subtle one at that. I like it.
