I'm wondering if the point of IT will be no ending change to further the impact of the themes and choices. Frankly put, how the hell were they ever going to beat the reapers when especially they didn't even prepare with a three year warning, which even then, would be highly unlikely unless we're talking some kind of miracle weapon in the crucible.

The themes center around controlling things you shouldn't which lead to disaster and changing things you shouldn't which lead to disaster.

We've got a situation here where the themes lead us straight toward an end where we are fighting a foe that is unbeatable by all accounts. There are things in this life that are beyond our control and there are things in this life that cannot be changed. No matter how hard we struggle, fight, endure, those things will always be. It's not a happy ending but it is befitting the themes. You can do everything right and in the end, none of those choices matter. It's a horrible lesson to learn, but it's the way the world works. Certainly not a hero's journey or what you would expect from the end of a hero's journey, but sometimes the hero doesn't win. It doesn't make them less of a hero for trying. It's just life and how it goes.

To the former, I believe we could win without the Crucible. Besides, they could come up with anything they wanted to, like my Rio theory.

To the latter, no. Self-determination and beating the odds have always been core themes or Mass Effect (and a lot of other stories). If you want the story to end how you described, just pick refuse.

OMG!  I can't keep up lol. Every time I come within 3 pages of the last page I go do something else and when I come back I'm 10+ pages behind lol. If this is like this now Omega's gonna make this thread zoom faster than a ME FTL jump through a relay

Shame. I was in MP and missed it. But we can still celebrate by refreshing good memories. Posted Image

EDIT: Page 945 does exist. It's not a fake. It's real. Posted Image

What if BioWare puts in a tease in one of the future dlc's of Shepard picking up a padd looking at it, pressing the key to flip through and makes an off the wall remark, "hey there's no page 945? What the...?"  Then puts the padd down and we all get 5000 credits for collecting the padd.

would be fun if it unlocks acodex entry on "indoctrination theory" using in game language to explain a small band of conspiracy theorists

They said your LI hesitates putting your name on the wall because they believe you are still alive (in the destroy ending), and that it is possible that LI and Shepard will be reunited.

I smell some sort of reunion coming next year.

Ah! It's from The Last Unicorn!

Prince Lir: No. My lady, I am a hero. Heroes know that things must happen when it is time for them to happen. A quest may not simply be abandoned; unicorns may go unrescued for a long time, but not forever. A happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story.
Molly Grue: But what if there isn't a happy ending?
Schmendrick: There are no happy endings, because nothing ends.

For some reason, Half-Life 2 episode 3 comes to mind.  Just because there isn't an ending, doesn't mean an ending will be produced in the future.

Your LI must be really good at guessing when you are and aren't alive the, because they only do that if you get the breath scene.

Because if you get indoctrinated, the Shepard you were is dead.

Whenever I think about the Normandy crashing on that planet, I keep thinking to myself about the dream tree texture I found in the game during the beam run after you wake up from getting hit by Harbinger:

Posted Image

That is also located on the planet as well.

Even without finding that texture though, Joker wouldn't have survived the crash. He's got brittle bones, yet walks out unharmed.

Also, since they did a FTL jump from Earth, there isn't a solar system outside the Sol one in all three games (checked the galaxy map), and there's no planets matching the description we see that are considered habitable without wearing a space suit. Only Earth is considered habitable, and Earth doesn't have two moons, only one.

This may sound a little out there, but the planet that you see during the ending with the Normandy doesn't exist. It's made up and not real. The codex says something about indoctrination having an "awe" affect on humans, and forgive my vocabulary, but that planet does sort of look like a perfect paradise to me. Kind of makes someone say "wow, that looks beautiful".

I personally believe that any DLC from now until the final DLC sometime next year will just expand on the ending a bit (little with EC, and some more with Leviathan), and the final DLC for Mass Effect 3 will wrap up the trilogy with one big conclusion.

Edit: Although, sadly, I don't think it will be free. It might be, because people would probably go nuts if they had to pay for the conclusion to the trilogy.

That's my thinking on it right now. Even if that final DLC is not IT, I'll take it.

IMO there won't be any free SP DLCs for ME3. ME3+the EC is what you get as the final main game. Anything more will cost extra (Leviathan, Omega, 3rd DLC). Remember that all MP DLCs are free. I know microtransactions create a steady flow of money, but still, we've got several DLCs at no extra charge, which BioWare could've charged for (but didn't).

That would be oddsome. Not only would it prove they read the thread but it would also make our IT Community part of Mass Effect Canon. Posted Image I would be personally happy that BioWare recognized that riddle on Page 945 as an IT Cultural Phenomenon. lol

I guess so.

Joker (from The Dark Knight): If you're good at something, never do it for free.

I don't think they will do some sort of confirmation DLC. Maybe just add and more hints so we can decide for ourselves.

Other things, such as movies, certain fan theories were never confirmed, but we'll see. Doesn't make them not true. IT is more of a plausable explanation for the ending than space magic or the literal one.

No way Shepard would magically survive a fall back down to Earth without a spacesuit and wake up in some place that looks like where you got knocked out by Harbinger.

So Nintendo finally decided to have YouTube on the Wii. It works real nice. I was watching the Acavyos vid again. Something came to me that I don't think any of us noticed. We talked about other parts of it but i dont think we covered thia part. Why does the gun Shepard has still work?  Then again why is the gun not have scorch marks on it?  It looks like it is brand new. If the beam that hit Shepard was real, then the gun should either be melted slag or at least horribly scorched particularly if the company that made it was a durable company. When you see the scene of Shepard laying on the ground right after the beam hit him and the gun is laying next to his fingers you'll notice: the gun is shiny, white and grey, and as we know fully functional. Yet Shepard's outfit is completely opposite.

Edit to above since I'm on my phone. All the scenes in the end have guns that are brand new. Even Anderson's gun when TIM steals it is brand new. No scorch marks and also fully functional.

I think it's called lack of attention to detail. No offense to BioWare, but it just happens to the best of us. I don't think anywhere in the game did we have a scorched weapon wielded by Shepard.

Because the Carnifex is Anderson's gun, which he dropped beside Shepard for no reason despide going up behind him. Also, the Predator TIM pulls of Anderson is Shepard's.

maybe shepard sacraficed himself to try and save the gun, going full on paragon and saving his best freind the m3 predetor from a horrible fiery death.:innocent:

but really, this could a very intentional ploy made by harbinger to try and make shepard fell more safe, after all a soldiers is more at ease with a gun in his hand then without it. this really just reinforces to the fact that harbinger is trying to ake shepard believe that the dream is real (or perhaps in a more literalist way, that the hallucinations are true). this really could a great point for discussion.
