CmdrShep80, are you doing a full video walkthrough of the trilogy?

lol I want to. I've been working out the details of how to get it started since I've never really done any recordings before. I also went and bought something else. It'll take a couple of days to get here but from what i heard it also has a good editor on it too. It can also do commentary after the fact instead of recording within. In the end I may just do a fraps based record and use the other thing for editing.

So ya I made a test vid of just the title sequence, playing with things like fonts, types of sounds, effects, etc.

because I'm such a completion isn't I'm going to be standing around a lot lol as I try to find that next medigel case so I was also looking at how to speed up and/or cut the scenes out.

Btw do you prefer commentary or just straight video?

Well, if you want my opinion, I very much prefer commentary.  Without it, if I own the game, I have as much of a drive to watch the playthrough.  Take Megumi's Let's Play of ME1, 2, & 3.  I know I SHOULD watch it, since I gave her the advice to do it when she asked me, but without commentary, it's a bit difficult to set aside a hour at a time to watch even one part.

By the way, I think I've come to a conclusion about something. At this point, the reason I dislike the literal endings so much is not because they're thematically inconsistent (Though that's a big reason), but because I REALLY don't want to be part of the Literalist category. The few decent Literalists that we've encountered doesn't change the fact that, frankly, Literalists in general are jack***es. If they were less jack***-y, I might be more inclined to consider possibilities other than IT. However, since they aren't, and probably never will be, I refuse to be associated with them. It's like reverse peer pressure.

Why? What have they said about Omega that makes it seem less appealing??

It's just that it was all cool when we knew nothing about it, and there was the possibility of having collectors or crucible information etc. in it, but now it seems like it is just going to be about helping Aria taking Omega back. Which isn't bad, it's just "meh".

There is also the fact that I'll probably go through James Vega syndrome again (not connecting with a new squadmate because of the feeling that they are replacing another potential squadmate). Man, I was looking forward to more squadmate dialogue, especially Liara/Shep. I wanted to bring Garrus back to Omega and see what he said. I wanted more Javik because who doesn't love destroy lines? Oh well. Posted Image

And it's the biggest DLC yet; I'd be pretty disappointed if it was that big, 15$ and was only about some relatively nonimportant sidequest helping out someone I never liked a whole lot retaking somewhere I never really cared about, fighting an enemy I find less interesting (from a lore POV) than collectors, reapers, or geth. And as much as I love new features (Flare, Rampart Mechs, Adjutants) I hate how they aren't in MP (at least yet).

Overall, the only thing making ME at all good for me anymore is that awesome characters, particularly squadmates. So, does that make more sense?

I agree. Commentaries make long walkthrough videos less impersonal and more enjoyable. Especially for people who own a game and have already completed it, or those who are unwilling to play it and want to watch a walkthrough on YT instead. On the other hand, if you don't have anything to say, I guess doing a commentary wouldn't be a good idea. Posted Image

EDIT: Here's a good example of a video walkthrough with commentary.

Btw, I think Aria is a great character, I just don't like her that much (unless we fing out she's a spectre or something. I'd imagine asari go under for a while). At least she knows what's necessary. Posted Image

I see a big difference between reprogramming the Heretics and Controlling the Reapers.  With the Heretics, you KNOW it will work, and you don't have to deal with the fact that you're permitting creatures that have been commiting genocide for BILLIONS of years to continue to exist.  Oh, and there's no creepy monologue and no creepy music. :P

Hey MB :) I'm doing pretty good. I'm a bit pessimistic about Omega though. I hope it's good. I've mostly just played Halo 4 lately. It is great. I mean, it's how I really got into gaming (and how I got my name), so it's nice to go back to that. Plus, closure.  Posted ImagePosted Image

To be fair, Liara in the same breathing space as Aria again is probably a bad idea. A really bad one.
I'm also going to say that Omega is going to have a bigger impact than we're supposed to expect and I want the flippin trailer to come out this week.

That's an affirmative - no squadmates; Aria and Nyreen the whole time. Posted Image

I sure hope so, considering it's hefty size and price. Also, yeah, a trailer would sure be nice.

I don't mind that.  We have probably the strongest biotic we've ever had on our team for a squadmate and the first female turian ever seen in the games.  I'd say that's enough.

Shame. Only Shepard, Aria and Nyreen. I wonder how it's going to be justified in the game. In Arrival Shepard goes alone because Hackett and Kenson are lovers.

I highly doubt that any of us are going to be disappointed by Omega. It's massive, and there has to be some reason Cerberus has focused so much effort on controlling it. They only seem to be interested in places that are of significant to TIM's goal of controlling the reapers. I wouldn't expect much more IT stuff than Leviathan however, seeing as Leviathan was all about indoc., but there has to be something.
