Hmm, would be kind of funny if they ended the thread on page 2012 citing something about fulfilling a prophacy from 12/21/12 and then they released a dlc something on 12/21/12

How can someone think the AI that conquered the Leviathan without a single Reapers help, created Harbinger, started the cycles to create more Reapers, created Mass Relays and Citadel, is all of a sudden this powerless tool that can't do anything more than be elevator man and tour guide in the decision chamber. That is as retarded as retarded gets.

I know, it baffles my mind too. BioWare writing is bad, but it certainly can't be THAT BAD, can it?

If you're serious, you just lost a great deal of my respect.

So did you all notice for the appearance packs they gave no notice but for the Operation Priveteer they gave at least 2 days notice?

If they were only clarifying and not changing anything meaningful, than what's with that change? Was the Reapers' motivation not a major point? ... Unless, you know, that isn't their real motive.

Or... you know, they just makes shit up on the go, you know, like they have been doing ever since ME2.

Just my 2 cents.

Oh shut up.  Only people too dense and/or uneducated to understand the game go to the "bad riting lulz" well constantly like this.

Yeah, no planning whatsoever.

I mean come on that right there is just... They know what they were doing because look at IT.

And you know I bet that's the were Harbinger was created that one planet right there.

It depends on what you mean with "serious". How about you tell me how you interpreted my comment and I'll tell you if that intepretation was correct or not. Or maybe I won't tell you at all, but leave it up to your speculation. ;) Lots of speculation for everyone. :wizard:

It's the first community goal Operation since Retaliation launched in October. It makes sense that they would give people a heads up. Though I question their decision to do it on a such a high travel holiday weekend.

Okay, serious question: HOW THE F*CK do you go from "beings of light protecting organic life from synthetic "machines devils" to "OMG it's obviously IT!"? No seriously, how in the world is that little piece of codex right there, that might or might-not be foreshadowing of the Catalyst, linked to the IT?

Edit: I see that piece of codex is from ME3. Okay, so my point that BioWare makes shit up on the go still stands. They obviously didn't have a clue about how to end (or even start) Mass Effect 3 by the time they finished with the production of Mass Effect 2.

You ment it, and no. That's the point why would the leader of teh Reapers just let Shepardcome up to teh Chambers. It would have been simple let Shepard die, and Destroy the Crucible. That's it. Yet it wants to help Shepard. Ya more like it wasn't something from Shepard. Gee I wonder what it wants. To end this cycle. This cycle.

It's so simple guys.

Control the cycle continues right, but now the Reapers Control Shepard.
Synthesis the cycle ends because everyone will soon fall under the Reapers Indoctrination, and they will beg to serve the Reapers like we see in Synthesis. Honest who is incharge in Synthesis?
Destroy the cycle contrinue, but in the end the Reapers will die.
In refuse, teh cycle continues, but Shepard is broken to the point he/she can't fight anymore.

Mass Effect drive core, accelerating them to FTL speeds.

Keep in mind that the space cutscenes in Mass Effect have NEVER been realistic or even remotely true to their own lore. You should always take those cutscenes with a grain of salt.

YES I GET THAT! But HOW do you get from THAT to the IT? How does that piece of codex support the IT? If anything, it supports the literal endings more. it supports the idea that the Catalyst is speaking the truth.

you can't go to FTL speeds inside the gravity well of a star, and earth is way inside it.
And what others space cutscenes are not accurate to the lore?

You're not in the position to facepalm friend, especially not if you can't even answer my simple question. If anyone should be facepalming, it should be me right now.

No wait, I feel more like headdesking:

All of them.

Dreadnoughts closing in on the enemy and firing from a short distance, space-ships flying through space as if they are airplanes flying through the sky (not only is that incredibly unrealistic, it's also against the lore), space-ships catching flames and burning in space (LMAO), etc. etc. etc.

So much for Mass Effect being "hard sci-fi"....

So your saying there can't be such a thing as a fire on a space ship?

Under rare circumstances there might be an actual combustion resulting in flames when a space-ship is destroyed. However, these flames will look and behave vasty different from your regular fire and explosions that we get to see in Mass Effect. That's because Mass Effect chooses looks over lore when it comes to cutscenes. I guess the devs thought it was more important that the cutscenes look good rather than that the cutscenes stay realistic and true to the lore.

I respect that decision. A realistic space battle that is true to the Mass Effect lore would be really f*cking boring to look at, so I understand why the cutscenes threw the lore overboard to make them look flashy. However, now you know that you shouldn't analyze those cutscenes too much and just take them for what they are, flashy cutscenes that should be taken with a grain of salt.

Joker: "What if this--like, everything you're seeing now--is a simulation?"

EDI: "Shepard, I can confirm that this is the real world."

Joker: "Oh, okay, well that'll solve that. Man, good thing we have an unshackled AI around to tell us what reality is."

EDI: "Perhaps I missed some salient information."
