Not necessarily. At least we'll have a fighting chance. Controllers and synthesizers are done for, period. Destroy Shepard might have to kill himself in the end though.
I think it's interesting, and if true, all of this (including the Eden Prime datapads), would paint the following picture:
- Bioware is lying for as long as they can about the ending. At some point, either through DLC or through ME4, the story will continue.
- The only ending in which Shepard has a chance, is destroy. He'll still be indoctrinated, but have a fighting chance to kick Harbinger out of his mind. Controllers and synthesizers have been succesfully pacified.
- The Reapers are not as strong in numbers as they appear to be. They maintain a large presence in the heavily populated areas of the galaxy to keep up the appearance of an overwhelming force. Conventional victory is a possibility.
I personally think they won't be able to wrap this up in a simple DLC.
So I guess I'm calling it:
IT is true, and we'll fight the Reapers with Shepard in ME4.
