Actually, he's right that not all cases of synthetic "rebellion" are caused by Reapers.  Rather, most of them are caused by organic stupidity.

I'm more apt to thinking that they take sacrifices every so often.

Oh, really? Then why would an AI consider them a first and foremost threat to all life in existance all of a suddden?

And every so often is what? Like once in like 50 000 years or so? )))

Because the organics be creatin synthetics... to destroy them :P

GethPrime seems to forget that this is FALSE and hasn't been paying attention to the recent discussion and my last few posts showing how that what you say is not true.

Because organics be dumbed down:

EDIT: Organic destiny is to be as one. The Reapers tear this down, and when they can't, they exploit it.

Regardless, your assertion that synthetics are at fault is wrong. Organic stupidity or reapers. Take your pick. Synthetics are never shown rebelling on their own.

I like this idea.  Remember that Leviathan said that the Intelligence is using evolution itself as part of its experiment.  This would fit that line.

First point: Question, if the Alliance was responsible for the experimentation, why would they make the VI self-aware during a LIVE FIRE EXERCISE?  That seems extremely stupid, and more in the vein of what Cerberus would do.

Just speculation on your part. We know the base was from the Alliance. We also know the Alliance does illegal experiments on AI technology. The codex doesn't say anything about Cerberus having a hand in it. So the most logical and reasonable thing to assume the Luna VI incident is not related to Cerberus. Assuming it is, is just wild and baseless speculation on your part.

Second point: I think it does matter.  The Brat goes out of his way to blame synthetics by saying that it is the synthetics that rebel.  However, it's not the synthetics that attack first, it's the organics.  That seems like it would matter.

The Starbrat doesn't blame the synthetics nor the organics. He simply states what happens every cycle in a very neutral way. Yes, the synthetics indeed do rebel agaist the organics, that's fact. Stating that fact doesn't mean you automatically blame the synthetics for it.

The American colonists also rebelled against the Brittish oppressors, causing the Revolutionary War. That's a known fact. Doesn't mean I'm blaming the Americans though. In fact, I can sympathize with the American colonials and I understand very well why they rebelled against the Brits. Still, fact of the matter is that the Americans rebelled and started the Revolutionary War.

Third point: I'm curious, do you think synthetics are alive?  Or do you think they're just machines that are acting in a way different from how they were programmed?  If the first, I will write a response.  If not, then I will not bother, because it's clear that we have two VERY different opinions.

Well, it depends. Are we talking about real-life or are we talking about Mass Effect?

If my computer would ever become self-aware I wouldn't consider it to be alive. It would just be a machine acting in a different way.

However, it's clear that the writers at BioWare tried to push the idea that in the Mass Effect universe, the synthetics are indeed alive, although in a very different way from organics. However, BioWare clearly tries to show us that even though synthetics are very different from us organics, in many ways they're also exactly like us.

And I would think that Synthesis would be the ultimate result except for...

Synthesis being a 'new solution' (lolwat).

And the space magic.

And Harbinger being Harbinger.

What was it that Sovereign said about Organic life? That it was a mutation? A mistake? I cannot specifically recall exactly what he says since it has been long since I last played ME.

OK, Hanar, I thank you for your time, but I'll admit, I'm getting tired. I'm going to log off of the forum for the night. I'll see you all tomorrow. Oh, and Hanar? This doesn't mean you won. :P

Here you go.. along with a great trailer for it.. www.youtube.com/watch

We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution. (what about synthetic and human relations?)

You exist because we allow it.

And you will end, because we demand it.

Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation. An accident.

Your lives are measured in years, and decades. You wither, and die.

I am the vanguard of your destruction.

I'm not in this to "win" or anything like that, because we all know that it doesn't matter who wins a discussion on the interwebz, we're all just a bunch of pathetic losers anyway. :P No, I'm here because I just like discussions. Discussions are fun.

And I think I'll follow your example and also hit the hay. G'night.

Because the Reapers are not our friends.

They imagine themselves to be farmers, scientists, even saviors.

But they're really parasites.

So you're saying the reapers are a lot like us humans, mostly the western human civilisations?

And I'm not even joking. I'm serious about this. Think about it.

Now I'm REALLY gonna visit my bed. G'night.

You know what? That reminds me of something...oh yeah, an AI said something on the lines of that in the Matrix. You know what else reminds me of the Matrix? Indoctrination Theory which is centered on indoctrination which is caused by the Reapers who are parasites.

MASS EFFECT INCEPTION ;P

Godchild is to Mass Effect as Jar Jar Binks is to Star Wars.

I think thats how analogies work?
