*edit* Sorry if I missed that one, but how did the Dream_foliage thingy turn out?

I think it was used in the actual dreams aswell, but recoloured, and at Grissom station which is definately real, so it's probably just an odd filename.

Well, then there's really nothing to talk about I think, still 10 days till gamescom, hope they'll talk about more than just Levi and WiiU

Yeah, the dream foliage was debunked long ago.

I had an idea last night for summarizing IT. I may have a go at it later.

I never did. I was quite surprised at all the moaning the last couple of days.

I haven't lost faith at all.

I'm repeating ad nauseam:

We've known there will be no more ending DLC for quite some time, it's nothing new. That doesn't mean IT isn't true. It just means we'll never get confirmation. I have long ago accepted that it's Bioware's artistic vision to forever leave the ending ambiguous. Unfortunately (IMO) neither Theorists nor Literalists are willing to accept this. Literalists because they think IT has already been disproven (for reasons none of them are able to provide - yet they insist), and Theorists because they so desperately want confirmation.

That's not to say I don't think DLC won't add some further info/hints, it probably will. But we'll never get a true 'reveal'. They want the ending to be open to interpretation, they don't want to prescribe people a 'canon' ending. Which is why we we will also never get an Arrival 2.0, as Arian likes to call it.

All in my not so humble opinion. =P

Has David Lynch ever officially 'revealed' the meaning of his films? No, of course not. That doesn't mean 'Mulholland Drive' (for example) has no meaning, it definitely has. It's even pretty obvious for those who have analyzed it. Yet haters will maintain it's just made up of random stuff to confuse you, and that there is no real meaning, which is ridiculous. The meaning is absolutely there, it's just that there's no 'official word'.

It's nothing new, filmmakers do it all the time. Gamers are just not used to games having interpretative value and ending on an ambiguous note. They insist on having it one way or the other.

Which is my greatest fear. They really have lost all touch if they think a choice between a nonsensical unsatisfying ending or a cliffhanger was the best way to end their flagship franchise.

When I was saying this in April, I was getting ignored or shot down. They want an alternative interpretation of the endings... but will not "reveal" the IT at any point. They may allude to it in sequels. That's all folks.

I think it's beautiful. The effect of Indoctrination is that all seems in order, but in the back of your mind there's this whispering doubt. (For those who picked control/synthesis)

I'm fine with the ambiguity, I've got all the confirmation I need right there in the story, and the scene with the boy holding the model ship. I don't need a revelation. It's beautiful as it is. To arrive at that conclusion by your own thought process is much more beautiful than having it chewed out for you.

To be fair, I've been content with the ending from the very first time I played it. I'll even go as far as to say that I liked the ending better pre-EC.

It's not the lack of revalation that bothers me, it's the lack of closure. The reapers are still rampaging across the galaxy.

/agree
I still don't understand how Literalists can just ignore all the obvious hints the devs gave us, but I respect everyones own opinion

*edit* just had an idea: we assume BW suddenly releases an unannounced DLC, we play it, and if we choose Control or Synthesis, we get a Mission Failure message after the cutscenes
Literalist face expressions would be priceless
