Pinnacle Station, one could argue, was aimed at filthy casuals (:P) and that bombed...

Look at that extra DLC for Battlefield 3. That's pure casual-ness. DLC has definitely evolved over time and their success isn't restricted to the hard-core players, anymore.

Pinnacle Station is eons ago (in the time-frame of games), times have changed, man!

The thing about that is confirming IT, other than being really lame to just announce it, and not put it in a DLC, is who would it ****** off? There are only ITers, people who like the ending, but only through that lens, and non-ITers, who lack that lens and just hate the ending. There's no one to ****** off, other than maybe the ones who are already pissed off.

OBJECTION!

Yesterday I spoke to a friend I haven't heard of in a while. He told me how he finished ME3 (after having played the previous two, too) two months ago. And I couldn't even finish my question before he told me how he loved the ending, he found it artistically very beautiful. He even loves it so much that he even started replaying the trilogy.

At first I thought he figured out IT on his own (he doesn't spend too much time online but is a pretty smart fella), but no. To my disappointment he didn't even notice anything about the ending that he'd call odd. Hell, he didn't even go into the details enough to wonder about stuff like why Harbinger flew off, why Anderson looked rather ok or how Mr. Sparkles didn't make too much sense. He genuinely enjoyed the ending without putting too much thought into it.

I would say he's more of a 'casual player' and enjoys art...I don't think that's a too seldom combination.

So I don't think that we're the only ones who enjoy the ending, I don't even think we're the majority. Folks, it hurts me to type this, but it could very well be that we're just one loud minority.

ITers might be the ones who were 'clever' enough to figure it out, but if IT won't turn out to be true, no million voices will suddenly cry out in terror.

There was a time when the IT community was the largest portion of the fanbase...Once. But I think that time is gone now.

Did the Protheans ever meet Leviathan? If yes, why weren't they prepared for the invasion?
Maybe we'll learn more about the Inusannon and their cycle? That would be possible

Vendetta new some other stuff no other protheans seemed to. We've had essays written on how suspicious Vendetta is.

That's good, then he may know Leviathan
But, does Leviathan fit into the pattern? He seems to work against it, at least that's my interpretation

nope Leviathan was dead for billion years until Batarians turn him... So I presume that Vendetta won´t have any data about Leviathan.

Didn't EA start shipping their games with a single-use licence to prevent exactly that second-hand selling/buying of their games?

You have to pay for MP if you get it used. I doubt it's legal to make games one use only, which is probably why EA haven't done it.

Didn't sony do exactly that with PS3 titles? Not that anyone cares, of course...

I see used PS3 titles everywhere. Publishers are attempting to crack down on the used market in a desperate attempt for more money. It's both sad and disgusting.

Battlefield 3 is aimed at hauling in casuals in of itself.

It is actually not legal to resell it. As you don't have to activate the game on consoles you can, that is what the Online Pass is for, if you bought it used you have at least give some money to EA. PC doesn't have this as it's bound to Origin and therefor single use.

I heard next gen games are registered to the console to prevent preowned industry.

On topic, they haven't ruled out POST-ending dlc right?

Huh, I just thought of an interesting parallel.  In Mass Effect 2, when you first meet Mordin, you're helping him to fix a machine and put a cure for a disease in the air.  Then later, in Mass Effect 3, when you say goodbye to Mordin, you're again helping him to fix a machine and put a cure for a disease in the air.  I'm not sure if these paralells were intentional, but given the usage of the Carnifex in that scene, it's interesting to think about.

Not as far as I know.  I haven't seen anything that would suggest this.

Edited for clarity.

Such parallels are probably intended, but not necessarily with a deeper meaning than just a nice 360° in the story, just like that Hero's Journey diagramm or a classic story structure; you come back to the place you began your journey.
But it could be more, though I don't see to what purpose.

But nice noticing it!

On the plus side... oh, wait, I don't see a plus side unless consoles get their own version of Steam, and I'm pretty sure that's never going to happen.

Why couldn't we have sent Jacob up instead?
Mordin would have been really useful in London...

I'm not claiming that it's more, I'm just saying that it's an interesting parallel.  As the line goes, BioWare, I see what you did there.

If you're answering his on-topic question: there's that interview with Mac Walters where he says that post-ending DLC wouldn't make much sense as everything would be in ruins. (That cosy paradise world didn't look too bad, though. Just go the BSG way and let everyone gather burning wood <_<.)

It's reached the point now where consoles don't have any upsides over PCs...

I mean, it used to be that it was the "put the disc in and go" option, but nowadays they're just really **** PCs, with all the installations, downloadable updates, DRM and other bull****, but with cheap antequated hardware and no option to be able to do any non-gaming stuff on them...

Are you kidding?  He's smart, but not that smart. ;)  Besides, I don't get all this Jacob hate.  The only reason I could see to hate him would be if you were a FemShep who romanced him, and I haven't played a FemShep playthrough yet, let alone one where I romanced him, so I don't have a problem.  He's still my bro.

I seem to recall recall the comment about post-ending material was along the lines of: "I don't see how it would be possible to follow up on...", which one could read as being rather coy. :7

Rose, if you didn't figure this out a while ago, I like and/or can tollerate them all.  Yes, that even includes *gasp* Diana Allers.
