I just realized my biggest disappointment with Omega was that there was no Aria = Aleena reveal.

I was totally expecting that.

Hey everyone! Yeah, this pretty much sums up Omega: a lot of wasted potential.

What was there was good, aside from a few small glitches and such, but the real problem was everything they could or should have done. Nyreen was even throwning hints about things to be revealed in the mines, but nope, nothing.

SPOILERS!

Things I'm confused about:
-What happened to Dragoons? They were confirmed to be in Omega, and they weren't.
-What happened to the Collector weapons? You still can't get them in SP and they were all over the Omega demos and the trailer.
-What the hell was up with the old screenshot of the Normandy beyond the Omega-4 relay? That certainly wasn't in.
-Are the SR HVB and AR Thermal Scope not in, or did I just miss them?

Things that annoyed me:
-Not having the option to have Nyreen and the Talons take over Omega. That was the biggest letdown by far.
-Aria not being able to die.
-Nyreen not being able to live.
-Both of the above combined.
-The entire last mission was very anticlimactic, especially since the eezo mine mission right before was really cool.
-Aria's glitchy speech.

Things they missed out on:
-Any kind of plot twist whatsoever.
-A purpose for the Adjutants. Seriously, they could have made them any normal Reaper troop for all the plot importance they have.
-Aria = Aleena
-Nyreen & Garrus at least meeting, or a comment from her about knowing about him.
-Anything related to the Collectors, Omega-4 relay (barely), and no trip there.
-A trip to Avernus Station, the base beyond the O4 relay that the Adjutants came from. The base named for the entrance to Hades.
-Anything to do with the Reapers building Omega.

The others have talked about it earlier, and I haven't played it yet.

For those of you who have played the Omega DLC and think its not as significant as the Leviathan DLC, remember that odd feeling that Nyreen has? Because the Adjutants didn't turn the Cerberus troops they killed down in the mines, Nyreen has a feeling that there's something strange about Omega, and Cerberus has a connection to it, which may be the reason why they wanted to control Omega in the first place.

Nyreen: "I can't shake it. Something's off."

Aria: "You're just spooked."

Nyreen: "There's a rhythm to this place, Aria. To Cerberus. If you stuck it out here, maybe you would feel it too."

Whatever secrets Omega has, I don't think it is meant to be revealed right now. Maybe in the next DLC. Omega may not have given the climax of ME3 more context immediately, unlike the Leviathan DLC, but that doesn't mean it won't when you think about the "rhythm" between the Adjutants, the Omega mines and Cerberus.

Interesting.

Cerberus can control where and if the Adjutants procreate.
Also the whispering could indicate indoctrination if unprotected (also the sound she called whispering was anything but). And remember how uneasy the Cerby troops on the derelict Reaper became?

Didn't you watch the video logs? Cerberus can control where and if the Adjutants procreate.

I said. IT'S not my idea, and I haven't played Omega yet.<_<

Also yes I see. Which is why at times I think Harbinger control the Cerberus troops we fight, but through TIM. Not assuming Control, but whispering in TIM's head on what to do.

Repent! The end is nigh!
Humans are a blight on galactic purity!
You sir! You are a blight!
And you! And you, human!
And you!
The Protheans cast off the lesser races:
The Krogan, the vorcha and the humans!
"And so they dwelled in filth, on worldsmade of dirt and feces,
and there they lay until they stumbled into the skies."
The lesser races will be our downfall, the Word is clear!
"Let none in my sight continue to live,
lest their impurity displease me."
The word is clear on this, friends.
Humanity is the hands of the Reapers,
here to commit the galaxy to ruin!
Begone! Sinner, I cast you into the cold black!
I name you unclean!
"Bring unto me the children,
that I may watch them grow to soldiers for the cause!"
The way is clear, my friends.
Draw your weapons for the word, or face its terrible wrath!
The end times will come not with a bang, but with a sigh.
Those who dip their extremities in the well of sin and vice
Must repent with fire, oil and gun!
Let not fleshy friendships and base urges compel us to sin and neglect!
The Word makes its demands, and it demands obedience!
"And on this great station, the pure shall be rejected, and the lesser races given their place in heaven.
And this shall be the beginning of the end"
The end times are upon us. Repent and restore your souls to glory!

Oh, and parts of Omega remind me a lot of the Derelect Reaper (and parts of Cronos Station). Creepy platforms and darkness stretching into the distance tunnels...

Yeah I mentioned this as I was playing it. The level design was very very interesting.

Part of me wants to consider the entire DLC of Omega as one giant metaphor for...something. Not entirely sure yet.

Thank you for summarizing your feelings about it so well. I knew it was mostly likely not going to be worth me getting it. The details you provided here made it a confirmed no. Thanks! Great summary.

You got to love Bioware. The one Batarian that is cool and they bring him back in Omega.

Huh that's interesting everyone. The PC dlc is 1.763.48 gb big. That means they installed the rest to PC from something else. I saw the Xbox size was 1.99gb

Well they did say no squad mates in Omega, but hey who knows. persoan;y I think Omega was nothing important to Bioware, thus didn't go in depth with Omega.

the 4 steps of trolling:
1. romance Liara
2. complete Leviathan
3. speak with Liara
("[...] I don't want any tentacled creature inside your mind... except me.")
4. go off to get kissed by Aria

Huh, that's interesting.  Maybe they cut stuff out that would otherwise be datamined....

Edit: If this is the case, then someone better figure out how to datamine a XBox 360.

Not that hard as you can basically just hook the hdd on a pc. Same way the leak was mined.

This time the Mad Prophet was a lot more popular than in ME 2. Probably because his prophecies were correct.

Too late to check the actual quotes, but I got some keywords: fire, burning, blazing glory through the galaxy.

Nyreen is the one who speaks of hearing whispers. She had couple other interesting quotes as well.

Something like "When you start hearing whispers, its time to grab your friends and get out"  or similar.

Woo. Just finished Omega. My ears perked up at the adjutants being a "nightmare" and "Wake up, Nyreen!" and "So be it" and the comment about the whispering. And I know there was other little IT flavor packets in there somewhere, but it's been a long 3 hours.

It definitely had its strong parts, but it could have used a few more days in the writing room. However, I think my DL was glitched because it ended with NO MUSIC (or is there not any music at the end?) and it felt so anticlimactic. And for being an action DLC, the action was... really easy. I played it on insanity and I'm getting used to a new mouse right now and it was a breeze.

Guess I'll just hold on to those MS points I just paid for. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but just reading the last 10 pages, especially Blurs post, and I have to agree with starlite. Pass. You'd think they'd toss in something even if it's something dumb line in.ctrn8. At this point, I don't think I'll get it even at 1/2 price

Is Patriarch even mentioned?

Dont think there was any music for me either.
