What's he current state of IT after Omega? Has anything changed? Anything new?
Nothing major, but it did repeat a few ongoing themes one more time (such as Cerberus ongoing control experiments) and added yet another instance of Reaper forces beeing described with the word "Nightmare."
Also Aria of all sort of speaks out against control as she has a piece of dialogue describing how she dosent meddle in the affairs of the people living on Omega, letting them live as they want to live. That is at least as long as she remains in power and no one breaks her one rule.

The mini-relay is well yeah a mini-relay. Kaidan actually has a short piece of dialogue if you interact with him near the relay where he says there is hum which is making his teeth grind. It is foreshadowing for the mini-relay later.
Dont know about the Citadel Council platform but could possibly be foreshadowing of it beeing where the control panel is.

I've been playing Mass Effect and there is this planet where the ExoGeni survey team is missing. In the mine you can find a geth church similar to the one on Feros.
Yeah found that one as well. Pretty much removes any doubt taht the "church" is anything but a Reaper artifact. This combined with the "superstitious awe" quote regarding Indoctrination would indicate the Heretic Geth have been altered in a way similar to indoctrination by Sovereign.

For me, so far, and I'm about 3 hours in and getting closer to the end of it, Omega feels more like fan service. They made it as a bit more of a peace offering for those that hated the ending but demanded Omega after the files were found. It isn't bad, but I could have done without it.

<data>- TEMP CINE DESIGN -Shepard activates the console to shut down the huge fan and the system announces that the shutdown is initiating. The giant fan slows to a stop allowing access to the maintenance area. Aria contacts Nyreen who is making steady progress with the Talons toward Afterlife. Aria tells Nyreen to keep pushing forward and sets a rendezvous point at the markets outside of Afterlife.Alternately it might be cool to see Aria be awesome by using her biotics to stop the giant fan in order to allow progression.</data> </string> <string> <id>728634</id> <position>145</position> <data>Shepard and Aria emerge in the Mechanical Sciences area where Cerberus forces can be seen through the window firing their weapons and retreating while shouting for support. They are quickly gunned down by unseen forces and suddenly another Adjutant runs past the window toward a chamber ahead (the player will encounter this Adjutant in the next combat location).</data>The intriguing thing about this is that there are bits that were obviously cut or modified:
<data>Shepard and Aria enter a corridor with a series of apartment doors extending vertically for many floors. Shepard can enter these small abandoned one room apartments to search for treasure, notes, etc. Nyreen contacts Shep and Aria via radio with an update that the Talons are starting to meet heavy resistance.</data> </string> <string> <id>728796</id> <position>166</position> <data>Shepard and Aria emerge from the apartments one floor above a courtyard and gun fire can be heard nearby. Explosions can be seen all over the vista indicating the scale of the civil war that is occuring.</data> </string> <string> <id>728797</id> <position>167</position> <data>Approaching the window Shepard notices civilians in the courtyard pinned down by gun fire. Afterlife can also be seen in the distance.</data> </string> <string> <id>728798</id> <position>168</position> <data>Upon emerging from the building the cerberus forces turn their attention to Shepard and Aria. The mounted gun turns to fire at the player and Guardians press forward as a phantom snipes from the buildings ahead.</data>
<data>- Final Battle Sequence -The General shouts commands to his troops as he throws everything he can at Shepard and Aria. Enemies enter the battle from the railings above and the various doors leading into the main chamber. The combat here is very similar to the Object Rho battle in ME2 Arrival DLC.Shepard must fight through these forces and protect Aria while she hacks / rips apart the 2 power sources that keep the General safely locked inside his control room (formerly Aria's seat of power).Once the Power is disabled Shepard and Aria advance on the General for the final cutscene.</data>
<data>As Shepard and Aria step onto the balcony Nyreen radios in. The talon forces are becoming overwhelmed and things are looking grim. Shepard can choose to suggest that Aria warn Nyreen to get out of there, but regardless of the choice an explosion occurs in the building nearby. Aria (and the music) become silent and after a moment she indicates that they need to keep moving toward afterlife.</data> </string> <string> <id>729126</id> <position>259</position> <data>Once the Adjutant is defeated Aria runs forward to the light at the end of the catwalk.</data> </string> <string> <id>729127</id> <position>260</position> <data>As Aria runs toward the exit of the tunnel a sound can be heard coming from the opther direction.</data> </string> <string> <id>729128</id> <position>261</position> <data>If the player chooses to investigate the sound they will come accross 2 civilians that have fled into the sewers to escape the fighting above. One wants to stay in the tunnels and the other wants to flee and Shepard can choose to support one or the other.</data>
<data>Shepard and Aria emerge into a public space and deal with scared civilians, population-control loki mechs, and non-stop Cerberus propoganda.</data>(note that this stuff shouldn't be read in order because of how the files are structured):
<data>Support Columns</data> </string> <string> <id>731331</id> <position>299</position> <data>As Shepard drops into a maintenance tunnel and turns on the flashlight a shadowy creature can be seen running out of sight at the end of the corridor.</data> </string> <string> <id>731332</id> <position>300</position> <data>As Shepard reaches the top of the ladder an Adjutant attacks. This might use the same "slow-mo" scripting used for the final Dr. Eva sequence in ProMars. In order to highlight Arias' coolness she might actually kill the Adjutant herself.</data> </string> <string> <id>731335</id> <position>301</position> <data>Upon examining the first explosive, the timer for all the bombs will be displayed (Ideally we can re-use the GUI used in multiplyer mode for hacking/deactivating 4 items). Shepard must deactivate all 4 bombs before time runs out while fighting endless waves of enemies.</data> </string> <string> <id>731336</id> <position>302</position> <data>Shepard deactivates another bomb.</data> </string> <string> <id>731337</id> <position>303</position> <data>Shepard deactivates the final bomb and Aria points out that they'll need to shut down the fan in order to advance through the Mechanical Sciences Area.</data> </string> <string> <id>731350</id> <position>304</position> <data>The elevator to the reactor is across the way.</data> </string> <string> <id>731363</id> <position>305</position> <data>Approaching the end of the tunnel Aria comments on the catwalk being destroyed ahead and suggests locating the dam control in order to get across to the maintenance tunnels on the other side. </data> </string> <string> <id>731406</id> <position>306</position> <data>Shepard and Aria enter a monitoring station that has been modified by Cerberus to contain/study the Adjutants. It is clear from the chaotic state of the room that something went wrong. Aria suggests that they take a closer look.</data> </string> <string> <id>731407</id> <position>307</position> <data>Upon dropping into the lower part of the room Cerberus corpses can be seen all over the floor. Aria goes into the monitoring station ahead to look through logs.</data> </string> <string> <id>731408</id> <position>308</position> <data>Shepard and Aria watch a video that depicts the Adjutants escaping when the field came down at the end of mission 3.</data>There was also a cut stealth section:
<data>TEST STRING - MESSAGE BOX - Shepard and Aria pass near the first check point. A small ambient scene players out as someone passes through the scanners setting off an alarm. The cerberus office in charge waves the person through and tells an engineer to recalibrate the scanners. This sets up the first sub-objective which is to get passed the first checkpoint.</data> </string> <string> <id>734070</id> <position>577</position> <data>TEST STRING - MESSAGE BOX - Aria calls into the hub and tells the hackers to find a way to get them passed the biometic scanners. The hackers acknowledge but need Shepard's help. This sets up a sub-objective to find a way to reprogram the scanners.</data> </string> <string> <id>734071</id> <position>578</position> <data>TEST STRING - CINE DESIGN - Approaching the checkpoint triggers a conversation with the guards. The player can talk their way through but will set off the alarms if they have not disabled the biometric scanners. If the player sets off the alarms, the checkpoint is locked down with a barrier and there is a brief combat. The player must find another passed the checkpoint. The player MUST successfully pass through checkpoint 1 and 2 to successfully pass through checkpoint 3.</data> </string> <string> <id>734072</id> <position>579</position> <data>TEST STRING - MESSAGE BOX - The player can sabotage the scanners and find an alternate path in this area.</data> </string> <string> <id>734073</id> <position>580</position> <data>TEST STRING - MESSAGE BOX - The player must work their way through the slums while avoiding patroling drones or doing anything else to set off alarms. If the player triggers an alarm combat will start and the second checkpoint is locked down.</data> <data>TEST STRING - MESSAGE BOX - As the player approaches the second checkpoint they can choose to attempt to pass through it or go around through the more heavily populated civilians alleys.</data> </string> <string> <id>734493</id> <position>598</position> <data>TEST STRING - MESSAGE BOX - CONVERSATION - The player can attempt to pass through the final checkpoint in the center of the structure which Cerberus has taken over. BTW: Does anyone else really enjoy it to see Vorcha die in the most brutal ways? Dying Vorcha always remind me of the good ol' ME2 days with Garm blowing a random Vorcha's head off ("FIIILTHY HUMAN!")
I prefer seeing batarians die. I emptied two clips into the mad prophet, but alas...
Racist bastards, both of you.
Let me guess, you're both actually playing Paragon right? Or are you playing a pro-human Renegade Shepard? If you're playing a Renegade Shepard than it's okay. If you're playing Paragon you're a goddamn hypocrite. Either way is fine with me though. I play Renegade myself, but I don't hate batarians and I actually love vorcha. Vorcha are awesome.
Cool story, bro.

Ha. Nice catch. Its the little things that make this game all the better.
And yes, its wood. Sounds like a wooden chesspiece too, though strangely it makes the noise of two pieces of wood hitting each other when he's actually hitting a hologram. So it might be a sound-recording the board itself makes.

Damn, sleep for 8 hours and you guys tread through 10 pages!! Anyway, earlier paxxton mentioned that the next one will be the last. I don't think so. Hendricks mentioned last weekend he is helping with 3 things, and since he is a programmer, seems too early for ME4 to be one of those. I believe the next DLC is already in QA, so we might expect it in January some time.

Paying 30% of the price of the full game for something 10% the size of the full game isn't really my idea of a peace offering.

What, you wanted a deep philosophical analysis? Probably shouldn't start off with "racist bastards, both of you" if you're looking for more ethical discussion and less indifferent handwaving.
There is nothing philosophical to this. But knowing whether you're playing Paragon or Renegade would be nice. Although I guess I already know the answer.
You're still a racist bastard though, or at least in Mass Effect you are.
