The left side of the page involves endings if you save the collector base. The right side of the page involves endings if you destroy the collector base

He did say "average". I personally don't have a problem with anyone unless they become a problem, and no, simply disagreeing with us doesn't qualify as being a problem Posted Image

I know, I just wanted to assure you boys and girls that you will have at least one literalist who is always rational.

Do you want to know why? Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark.

At the end you face the main villain in a dream, though you're unaware that you're in a dream. If you choose to side with him you think you win and the credits roll. If you realise it's an illusion you break out of it and actually boss fight him, then the game ends.

So yes, Bioware has done this before.

I'd say that having a concrete in-game evidence -- to solidify the notion that the altenative choice only ends with an illusion of reality -- makes a world of difference.

Hmm, maybe I should've gone with a better "obviously..." remark.  Like "Vega's go 'Stop throwing things at me, Loco!'"

I agree, but I think the purpose of the game (assuming IT) is to indoctrinate the players themselves, thus a reveal would be ruin that.

Come to think of it, why haven't I seen any major talk about Omega? Are we still trying to find things, or what?

Because there's nothing huge. Lots of dialogue and themes and such, some very interesting, but nothing like the mind-world at the end of Leviathan.

But there is still plenty of hidden and/or double meanings to plenty of things people say in it. The mad preacher is a good example. I can't list anything he said ATM but take my word on it.
Ok bedtime. :P

Boy, am I glad you folks aren't game designers. I would absolutely hate it to play one of your games.

If you really fear it that much then you might want to be careful in the future, because i am educating myself towards becoming a game designer.

I like how Hanar just doesn't respond to some things, like that I pointed out I saw the game as IT as soon as I finished it, so it's not something I want to believe because I didn't like the endings Posted Image

Yeah and I dident even watch the Control or Synthesis ending the first time. Though I dident think Indoctrination at first my past experiences in the games with Synthesis and Control echoed in my mind making me decide against it. On top of that it all just felt surreal and then the breath scene came up.

Found this forum, found Mark I of this thread, the pieces fell into place. Never goe back since and I have only watched Control and Synthesis through videos, never picked them.

Bioware would never intend your decisions to have consequences. It's just not their style.

Bioware would never take a stance on a controversial issue. Look at how they have skirted around sexual orientation.

Bioware is not going to invalidate synthesis or control. Look how popular those choices are amongst the overall fanbase.

Bioware won't provide additional Shepard related content. There's pretty much no demand for it and it wouldn't go over well.

Bioware wouldn't do a twist ending. They have no history of this and nobody likes twist endings anyways.

I just got done a huge discussion on another dark corner of the internet with some literalists and I honestly have to say, why bother. These guys won't believe anything unless Bioware confirms everything for them. They tell me they don't want to be spoon fed, but they say that they won't believe IT unless they confirm it. Some people must think for themselves.

I mean I wrote up a huge post that basically spells out the ending for them, then after 20 minutes, I just decided, what's the point? In the end, I think I pretty much just said "well, as long as I liked the ending, that's all that matters".

Oh, that's the other thing I was going to mention. Was thinking about it earlier today. It's from The Matrix. Funny how those films tie into this so nicely.

"What are they doing to him?"
"Breaking into his mind. It's like hacking a computer, all it takes is time"
"How much time?"
"Depends on the mind. Sooner or later, it'll crack, and he'll pretty much tell them everything they want to know"

Well if Shepard gets indoctrinated, that's pretty much gonna happen, because he's under their control.

Not to mention there are other things. Like Shepard is drawn to see the kid in the vent because of the noise of him climbing around in there. They talk, then Anderson distracts Shepard, then he look back and the kid is gone. Vanished. The noise of his dopey ass climbing around is what drew Shepard to it, but there was none of that noise when he disappeared into thin air. Then you get to Mars and they introduce Liara by having her escaping from Cerberus mooks in the ducts seemingly for the sole purpose of showing you that they do in fact understand that people crawling around in ducts is noisy as holy hell. Where's the noise from him disappearing? And why didn't they fix it if it truly was an oversight or bug? Nevermind fixing it in EC like they did with many actual bugs that got mistaken for IT clues, they didn't even fix it before release when it was pointed out from the beta.

lol you thought so too?

The problem with Bioware games, especially recently, is that you don't know what's a bug and what's a potentially brilliant detail.

Come on QA :(

Looking through the leaked script now. Finding some very interesting things. Look through it yourself to help!

- Confirmed that you were going to fight geth outside the Geth Consensus mission like Blur and I speculated way back. Vindication is sweet. IT next? Posted Image

- You were going to fight with another Spectre but would be forced to kill them to save Javik.

- You were going to fight the reaper on Rannoch in a Hammerhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DLC PLZZZZ????

- Were going to visit an ancient quarian city.

- The geth consensus was originally going to be "an idealized version of Rannoch" I find this not only very interesting in itself, but also because it sets an even better precedent for an alternate reality. This time, it's even more real. If the geth can do it, why not reapers?

Holy Christ on a ******!  Fighting a REAPER in a vehicle whose shields are seemingly made of sunshine and unicorn wishes?  Thank God that got cut.  OMG.
