Are there more thoughts on the Anderson-discussion?
I'd really like to get more feedback for that, especially trying to rationalize it not using IT!
If it is thoroughly scrutinized, it will get an important spot on the IT Top Ten (that I will overhaul in the next days).

As in a logical reason why Anderson not dying before he can have a final chat with Shepard makes the Crucible more effective (gives higher EMS)?

Can't think of a single thing.  Not even a ridiculous thing.

Exactly this! I am going off for today.
Really would like to see you all use all your brain power to come up with a logical reason outside of IT and not being "because---- BAD WRITING!".

I just remember a line from Nyreen in the Omega DLC that I think proves without a doubt that the BioWare writers honestly aren't  that good, or at least the team that wrote the Omega DLC isn't :

“The Cerberus occupation is an illegal action….” - Nyreen Kandros.

I mean really... seriously.... an illegal action... on Omega... thats... just hylarious....

I guess Cerberus is so evil that they can break non-existent laws!

A decent point, but it's likely she wasn't refering to Omega law.  Cerberus is a human organization and as a Citadel Council race they're almost certainly still bound by at least some Council laws regardless of their location.  In fact just plain "don't provoke the Terminus systems" seems to be pretty damn high on the Council's no-no list since Shepard had to go rogue to get to Ilos.

From that perspective it's still stupid becaue if you look at it that way EVERONE on Omega is breaking the law.

You know, I always wondered why Anderson's death by TIM upped the breath scene requirements by 1000 EMS XD

Well, at least the logic in the ME2 suicide mission decissions made sense... Sad we can't say the same for ME3.

*not (edited)

And let me think of something...  I suppose it could represent Shepard being more 'at peace' and the Catalyst thus considering him 'more ready' for his ultimate choice.

But even that is a bit silly, considering it also effects how well the Crucible does Control and Destroy and also potentially keeps Shepard alive.  There's only so much a calm disposition can do.

No, although it could be because Vido is not the public face of the Suns.

Maybe he had more enemies then just Zaeed, and he was offed off-screen.

Though that reminds me, why is the leader of the Blood Pact a Vorcha and not a Krogan?

That does lead me to think that maybe these are only local gang leaders and not the big cheeses.

Nobody has ever explained Shepard seeing Anderson and TIM acting out destroy and control makes literal sense. It's not like Bioware needed to show us how. Control is automated and destroy is self explanatory since we all know what the shootable target symbol looks like. And why no synthesis instructions?

Vido was killed. A conversation with Zaeed while he's in the refugee bay reveals that Zaeed went back to tracking Vido. Zaeed catches up to Vido sometime after the beginning of the reaper invasion. Vido ends up being killed by harvesters before Zaeed can kill him.

Hehe. I'm sure this line was meant purely for giggles by the writers, but it's cute from an IT perspective.

Aria: Plus, if I have to suffer that scumbag staring at my ****** one more time, I might have to kill him.
Shepard: Yeah, he mentioned--
Aria: That I'm going to sleep with him? We all have our delusions.

Speaking of Aria's ******, aren't Matriarch's supposed to get more...womanly...as they get older?  Aria's not under-equiped by any means, but compared to Benezia...

I don't know.  Human womens' stop growing at about age 25 but I've never heard anything about asari.  Better that way anyway.  I'm more of a leg guy anyway but Benezia was kind of nasty looking.  That darker bluish stuff looked like some kind of fungus.  And let's not get into the appearance of chin-hair.
Matriarch Aethyta seemed about par for the course for asari, didn't she?  I think she's the only other asari we've seen that we KNOW is a Matriarch.  Tevos might be, Samara's not far off, but I guess real Matriarchs rarely leave Thessia.

The EC also added Shepard somehow having perfectly accurate visions of the future when the catalyst explains the choices.

Zaeed: I had Vido to hunt down after he got away from us on Zorya.
Zaeed: Cost me nearly everything I'd made to track him down, but I did it. Found him on Suns base inside a colony.
Zaeed: Hired some men. Stormed the place. Blew up the shuttleport first, this time.
Shepard: So what happened to Vido?
Zaeed: Vido was holed up in a tower with nowhere to go. I was close. We could hear Vido panicking, screaming orders.
Zaeed: Then this shadow fell over everything. Damndest thing, hearing a battlefield go quiet like that.
Zaeed: Bet you can guess what happened.
Shepard: The Reapers...
Zaeed: Yeah. Completely tore up the base. Bunch of Harvesters scooped up everyone in sight.
Zaeed: Saw one grab Vido. Can still hear the bastard's scream. He tried shooting, but the gun fell out of his hand.
Zaeed: Then he looked straight at me. Finally saw me. Begged me to shoot him.
Shepard: What'd you do?
Zaeed: I walked away.

I can't think of anything that doesn't involve Shepard's mind and disposition. I would think that by allowing TIM to shoot Anderson, you're showing a level of disconnect from the Anderson Paradigm (and he's the guy who's shown choosing destroy), while if you "save" him, even briefly, you're showing a loyalty to the "we destroy them or they destroy us" paradigm. Thus you're more likely to choose destroy, more likely to choose the option with the Anderson clip because you care about him? So you need less EMS because... because... uh... loyalty to the mission is... effective military strength...?

It makes just as much sense as it DOESN'T make, but hey. I tried. :bandit:

EDI: Shepard, you have firsthand sexual experience. How do you know when someone is romantically invested?

vs. if you've never romanced a crewmate

EDI: When you are sexually interested in another, what kind of advances do you make?

There's actually a different conversation branch for Commander Shepard, the galaxy's oldest virgin? Holy crap.

interesting, the shields being used on Omega:
Nyreen:  The technology comes from beyond the Omega 4 relay.  Flesh disintegrates upon contact

A little bit of random statements -
Nyreen:  The Talons are ready, but if I'm sending my people into the breach...I want to make sure those force fields come down for good
Aria:  The people revolt, chaos ensues...
Nyreen:  For all the drama between us, I'm grateful to Aria.  She helped me remember who I am

Could this forshadow anything?-
Nyreen:  Incredibly powerful forces are about to do battle with them caught in the middle

More proof that BioWare really did think of everything hehe and everything is intentional in the game.

I'm liking the annoying shaking that's happening in Omega.  It's annoying as heck but it's adding a realistic dimension to the fighting, giving a sense of urgency that's only grown so far in the 4 hours I've played

I'm not sure it does.  It appears to be bugged or cut since no one seems to have heard it.  I found it by nosing around in the game's tlk files.

Actually, I vaguely remember this one.  It happens in the cargo bay after you do the Volus Ambassador mission, its one of the auto-dialogues Zaeed will do.

Edit: Ah, it was one of the datamined dialogues.  Makes more sense.

If you take your time and talk to everyone after every mission, you'll run into conversations like this.  His happens when you bug him at the place he hangs out on the normandy.  Let him tell you stories, you learn a lot

EDIT - this actually happens by the way, because I got this conversation dialogue.  It's just through spending a lot of time talking to Zaeed about things.  More like he shares things with you.  This game is an RPG after all
