It IS set up in a similar fashion to the collector base I suppose.

The reapers have lost the collectors.
Humanity is reconstructing a human reaper.

The Collector base housed the Reaper Construction facility.
Chronos Base now houses a reaper construction facility.

The collectors served the reapers
humanity will serve the reapers.

The Collector General was constructed to be a conduit for Harbinger.
Shepard was reconstructed to be a conduit for harbinger.

collectors -> cerberus (both harvesting humans)
collector base -> chronos station (both had human reaper)
collector general -> TIM (both indoctrinated/enthralled) Just want to point out that the collector general seemed to be enthralled by harbinger, similar to howSaren was enthralled by Sovreign at the end of ME1. Doesn't seem like indoctrinated but instead direct control

I don't quote if I think it's obvious what I'm referring too, sorry.

So basicly, you're saying that Harbinger is a she? Harbinge's a biatch?

Not me, Eryri.

'twas merely in jest, demersel. ;)

Don't forget that Javik mentions they had an indoctrinated splinter group that wanted to control the Reapers.

Am I the only one who thinks that the parts of the human reaper in that pic look a little bit like 3 big eyes?

The Collectors are not creatures as such - they were protheans that were stripped of any of their race - twisted and converted at a bilogical level into monsterous creatures.  All of whom can be possessed by harbie.  There are no remnants of anything prothean about them...only the shape.  Also the collector general is not the same shape.  He is deffo more insectoid.  Maybe he was as shepard is now during his cycle.  Taken and used by the reapers.  Only when Harbinger releases him from servitude and he becomes himself again...its almost like a 'what the hell have i done' look on its face as everything goes belly up around him.  The kind of 'where am i' look.  (thats if it can be...looking at a giant insectoid) replace TIM with Shep.  TIM knew he could fall - so the technology went to the next best servant of humanity - and one of more personal interest to the reapers....

...no, you're right. It's those three blue dots again.

Never once shown in a positive manner, except synthesis which is super cool and special like.

So... all the collectros can be possessed by harbinger... and they are engineered that....  isnm't it very much like cerberus troops are all implanted with a control chip?

Remember on Mars you find out that the cerberus troops have been implanted and augmented... Being stripped of their humanity?

And the collector general was just chosen because he possessed the ability to... well possess protheans. TIM is similar in that he implanted his troops so his troops wouldn't question his orders? :)

bang on.  Notice how when the helmet comes off a cerberus trooper he has been semi-huskified.  He's been changed to become something else...something not quite human.

OMG. Remember how we were discussing our crazier theories the other day and I mentioned being unsure that Leviathans weren't actually Reapers themselves? Well I'm replaying the game and when I got to the part where Leviathan is controlling Ann Bryson and EDI tracks down Leviathan through the signal. I always let Vega shield the artifact as soon as we're narrowed down to a star cluster, but I figured I'd go the renegade route once to see what else she says.

"The cycle cannot be broken."

I didn't have alarm bells going off in my head, I had air raid sirens. I've got an excellent memory for quotes of the series. That exact phrase has been uttered twice in the entire series. Once by Sovereign, and once by Harbinger. Despite the relatively little dialogue we've had with them, both capital ships we've spoken to have said it. It is a signature Reaper phrase.

This also explains how the Protheans had technology to detect indoctrination but that it wasn't fool-proof. They were watching for that strange QEC variation that the "Leviathans" use. And it often missed indoctrinated individuals because it can only detect their malady while the Reapers are actively controlling them.

@Rifneno: My first impression from leviathan was that they really, really didn't want to break the cycle. They complain about how the reapers destroyed their civilisation and can kill capital reapers in seconds, but are content to hang around in a cave.

Are you renegade? I'm paragon and I never even got an option. Aria just let him live. If you're renegade, just kill him. Stop worrying so much. It has literally no impact other than the loss of a measly 30 EMS.

There's no way renegades should always do the renegade thing, IMO. It all depends on the situation.

Have you considered that when you pick destroy in the ending, you do the same thing you do on Omega when NOT hitting the renegade interrupts three times in a row?

In both cases, you sacrifice the few to save the many (at least, you're prepared to), but in one case it requires not giving in to an aggressive action, and in the other case it requires making an agressive action.

Wow. I'm liking the idea that they're really Reapers/Reaper projections/indoctrinated themselves/etc even more now!

Another fishy thing about leviathans: Why not rebuild their empire in the 50,000 or so years between cycles and slaughter the reapers on their return.

Once again, instead of hiding in caves lamenting their plight.
