I noticed something strange at the start of the game or maybe somebody else mentioned it,I don't care.
Anyway did anybody notice when shep says "we fight or we die"from there to where he gets hit with the beam there is a ringing noise in the backround?

Have you ever heard an explosion? Makes your ears ring afterwards.

Sorry if that was too smartassy.

But munnelly seems to be saying it occurs before any kind of explosion happens.

www.youtube.com/watch

Listen from 10.28 to10.55,it comes and go's but it's there most of the time.

I thought it was some kind of alert siren/bell/other.  I don't think that has anything to do with indoctrination.

So why is no one saying,"Where is that damn ringing coming from?"?

Maybe because they're professional soldiers who are used to it?  They probably have drills all the time.  I don't know, but it just seems like that one is much more easily and reasonably explained than most of what we have.  I'd put it under odd but explainable.

Are you sure?
The codex does state that
"People undergoing indoctrination may complain of buzzing or RINGING in their ears".

Cuz it's probably just part of the dramatic background music. If it were Indoctrination infra/ultrasound, it would probably be present post-Reaper landing, not before they hit Vancouver. If it were a siren, it would probably be a bit more "Everybody f*ckin' RUN!!!!!"-ish (sound more like an alarm).

EDIT: Sorry... I quoted insted of editing.

Wel about the head ack part. When Shepard is under Tims control, when Tim is pushing Shepard to hard. Shepard put his/her hand on his head, like he/she is having a head ack.

Nothing too big here, if anything, but I just watched the old MP trailer and noticed 2 things:
1. You can see Javik, which is kind of funny because he was super secret before launch.
2. Beside Javik is Major Coats. He's there during the scene where Shep gives his/her speech before the last mission. He replaces the Virmire survivor as evidenced by this.

So why was Coats in this trailer for a half-second cut? The game is obviously done at this point, so why replace Ash or Kaidan with Coats? Unless he was originally going to be a squadmate? It's a bit weird considering Coats was never with you during the speech and any dead squadmate was replaced by a generic marine. Ideas on why this was done? Was Coats a squadmate? Does this mean nothing?

Are you sure Coats isnt there if you have some dead squadmates? I couldve sworn I had Coats there for my crappiest character...

I'm pretty sure. One of my friends did a crappy playthrough and didn't mention it. Plus, my first playthrough I didn't have Javik and there was a random marine, not Coats.

Well, I didnt have Garrus, Tali, or the Virmire Survivor. Maybe they ran out of random marines to use?

I believe they use the same marine model over and over, so no. I need to confirm that but I can't find vids :/

I can verify, if the VS survivor is dead/not present Coats replaces them, if it's anyone else missing they get replaced by random marines. I can't find a vid, seems like everyone apreciates the VS more than me.

Might have already been said, but I had Coats in my first two playthroughs, then I got From Ashes and Javik replaced him.

Home run well only 4 people can get replaced, so three could be just mariens, and the other could be Coats.

Well that's certainly an odd choice. I still think it means Coats may have been a squadmate though. In fact, as I was playing ME3 for the first time, I figured at the end I would have Coats and Anderson as squadmates, or maybe Coats would betray you and Anderson would kill him/boss battle. I really thought Anderson would be though, I mean, he has his own upgrade tree for 5 minutes Posted Image

I always figured Anderson was intended to be a squad member during the Priority: Earth part of the game.

I mean, even if it is just Ashley's special skill tree with a name change, it seems odd to give Anderson his own special skill tree at all at the beginning of the game. I dont believe they did that for Wilson in ME2. Why not just not do it for Anderson either?

I guess giving Wilson a skill tree named "Douchebag Traitor" was kind of a spoiler.

Wilson was working for the Shadow Broker, right?

Why does he wait so long to betray Miranda?

Why not just do it right off the bat when Shepard isnt able to escape?

Jenkins had it too, every ME game has somebody with a skill tree at the beginning.

He worked for the Broker? I always figured he was just an unexplained excuse to have a fight right after Shepard wakes up...

Found one , geez femshep in Italian sounds scary.

Thanks. I actually have a crazy theory about this now. Put on your tinfoil hats! So Coats replaces your VS if you kill them. It's interesting to note that he replaces them specifically and no one else. If you don't have Javik, or Garrus/Tali were killed during the suicide mission, they are all replaced by generic marines. Not the VS though, weird right? Javik doesn't count, because he's a DLC, Garrus/Tali both die in the suicide run, but not the VS. Back to that in a moment.
In has been theorized that Coats (obviously indoctrinated) is actually a Cerberus agent and not a reaper one. I think this actually holds more weight and is more interesting. Wouldn't it be awesome to fight him?
Anyway, the if you kill the VS they die defending a Cerberus agent (Udina). That's the only direct connection I see between Coats and the VS. So, if assuming Coats was going to be a squadmate, he would replace someone else who defended Cerberus.

Edit: Wilson dies too. That tree is partially there to avoid spoilers. Anderson's can't be.

I know that it's a symptom, and I'm not denying that it could be evidence of indoctrination.  What I AM saying is that we have stronger evidence that DOESN'T have a just as probable alternate explanation.  I don't deny that it's odd, and I don't deny that it COULD be evidence.  What I DO deny is that it is DEFINITELY evidence.
