I believe someone posted here a challenge to explain the jump of EMS from 4000 to 5000 if Shepard was unable to save Anderson from being killed by TIM in a literal way, so I'd like to try. If Shepard was unable to stop Anderson's murder, Shepard's adrenaline would go up from the trauma of seeing Anderson die. This would make Shepard's heart beat and blood pump faster, which would increase dramatically again when being engulfed in the explosion from shooting the Destroy tube. With all this stress, perhaps Shepard's body would be physically unable to handle it, or just not want to go on, unless Shepard's morale is high enough because more people will survive.
Adrenaline doesn't stop disintegration.

Or, it's because Anderson represents Shepard's unaffected mind, so naturally, letting him be killed by the indoctrinated part of you would be really bad for breaking indoctrination.LDS Darth Revan wrote...

@Andromidius Yeah, that too.

Question: is it possible to renegade/intimidate TIM into suicide? Or does only the paragon path accomplish that?
Seems not. When I did it all I did was get him angry enough to forget about Anderson so I could shoot him.

I believe he actually gets really mad at you and tries to shoot you instead of Anderson, which unless you Renegade interrupt he succeeds and you get the Game Over screen.DoomsdayDevice wrote...

I'm not sure if you can. I had to renegade interrupt him on my renegade character, and I took all the intimidate options.

No. You kill TIM personaly, while Paragon for some Reaspn talks them into doing it. Even that's not what he/she ment. " Fight it."

Nope. Renegade interrupt kills him. If you don't interrupt, you die. Like in destroy.DoomsdayDevice wrote...

Cool, so if I intimidate him from Mars onwards in every encounter, I can get him really pissed off in the ending? Awesome. xD
I'm pretty sure it doesnt matter what options you take in the previous conversations, as long as you do one.

How I understand it is you must take all 6 Charm or intimidate options, and any combination. You only need to take all of them at the last conversation.DoomsdayDevice wrote...

Something like that. One thing's for sure this IT DLC will not have the word indoctrination in it. Kind of like how Leviathan was about indoctrination, but it was titled "Leviathan".
