Heh - I wouldn't say I'm entirely happy with it being left completely open.  I'd give my right arm (or it's value in Microsoft Point ;-) to have some of my questions answers and to get a last, mind-shattering plot twist in ME3's final DLC... especially if it involves the return of the Collectors and Harbinger!

At the same time though, I can see why Bioware may want to leave it all up in the air.  We argue a crapton over the endings here on the BSN.  Pretty much everyone has an opinion on them, and a lot of the opinions are interesting, fun and unique.

At the moment, they're all perfectly valid as well.  Synthesis is the harmonius ascent of all life while at the same time it's huskifying the galaxy.  Control is Shepard being a belevolent watchful overlord, and at the same time it's becoming the Reaper of Humanity.  Does this prove IT?  Yes.  It also disproves it.

If Bioware give us a reveal, though, and suddenly everyone's no longer right; suddenly some people are clearly wrong.  It's Schrodinger's Cat, people.  Open the box, and the feline lovers out there might well end up really upset.

Since it is form May (pre-EC), it does not really reflect the current state since many have lost hope post-EC.
Right now, I guess the 25% believe in it, 25% have no stance, 50% think it is literal is more accurate - in my view at least.

Heck, it might even be a hidden message - the Protheans lost because they were homogenised and inflexible. Maybe this is the weakness of the Reapers as well?

What if Shepard really is dead in Synthesis (wasn't real and Shepard got huskified, or Saren-ed), fast-forward everyone dies, Harvest is completed, and EDI is reprogrammed and placed inside a Human Reaper or becomes the Human Reaper's intelligence instead of Shep in Control.  Then we could be seeing a virtual reality from EDI's point of view (she narrates it after all and all her "hopes and dreams" come true), a "First Matrix" for EDI keeping her happy even as some part of her operates as a Reaper hibernating in Dark Space (EDI isn't an organic so she would never need to wake up from a "perfect world" because she doesn't need suffering to affirm what is real or not)?
