Nice, TSA. Rio sucks though, that damn thing crashes half the time I try to play it. :(

It's also the worst to fight on. I can't take credit for noticing this, but it's very much designed for SP, not MP, which is why it's so... awkward. If any of you want to try Platinum, I'd recommend Glacier, in the tiny room, with at least two Furys, four would be best, or three and a support kit, like the Demolisher Posted Image

Have to disagree there.  Firebase Godless is basically pancreatic cancer converted into binary code through some Satanic ritual involving the blood of virgins.  Condor isn't far behind.  London kind of sucks too, especially hack objectives out in the killing zone.

Actually, the SP maps are much easier to fight on in MP than the MP specific maps.  Take a look at them sometime.  The easiest ones are all the original maps that were used in the SP campaign.  Every MP exclusive map is specifically designed to minimize places you can bunker down and hold a line.  It's very rare you have a decent place where you're not wide open to some spawn point.

So he's saying that defeating the Reapers wasn't worth it?

*twists his words*

But yeah. They do keep flipflopping between whether or not the endings actually end well or not.

Yeah, it's odd. On the one hand they used to side strongly with the Reaper's side: Synthesis being the best outcome. Here he tweets it would be best not to find the archives and gain a boost in technology, which TIM emphasized during his speach on the Citadel was a good thing.

On the other hand: is he referring to the archives with ME3 in mind or ME1 in mind? We shall never know...:bandit:

Clearly it's a reference to ME1 (and really, to First Contact), and equally clearly, it's a tongue in cheek comment, hinting at the possibility that we may discover something that would be fun to explore in fiction but would be scary IRL.

I wouldn't make more of it than you need to. It doesn't mean the crucible is a trap.

The crucible is a trap because every other piece of goddarn tech which we "receive" and use without fully understanding was a trap. Had been from the start. That's why I thought the original ending- death of the relays- could actually have worked, at face value, with more exposition and work. You can't use technology left by others for you to exploit without understanding it. You have to earn it first. I thought that was a key theme from the ME games.

But they botched it, and retconned the whole thing in extended cut.

I still want to know how the hell we had established a station near Pluto before noticing the Prothean base on Mars. Seriously, do you know how much further Pluto is than Mars? If Mars were a drive down the street to Wal-Mart, Pluto would be a 15 hour plane trip to South Africa.

What I meant about being designed for SP, is the it looks to be designed in a way that assumes no ememies behind you. You'd start at the landing pad an push to the server farm end, clearing though the enemies. The problem is in MP if you do that, they just spawn behind you and you get sandwiched.

@Rifneno. 50'000 years is a long time. It's highly like that Archives were buried and after 50'000 years it would be buried deep. Also, they probably (through GPR scanning or other methods) found something was there before hand and didn't begin digging till after pluto was built.

There could be a load of reasons.

Because if you check out the paragon/renegade responses to the "are you worried" questions, renegade goes from "hitler in space" to "confident arse-kicker" while paragon goes from "hero of the galaxy" to "massive whimpering ****".

Also, the only way to survive the TIM confrontation unless you have massive charm points is to use a renegade action, and the only way to survive the choice sequence is a "renegade" action.

If I'd been camping I'd at least have gotten the assault rifle kills award [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

Nah, wasn't a great round, rio's not as good for a demolisher as some of the less cluster****-y maps.
Also the worst map award has to go to Condor. Without a doubt.

"Finish your war. We will be waiting." (Said by the Reaper on Rannoch)

That line always kind of puzzled me. Are they referring to another war they're not currently participating in? Maybe to the war in Shepard's mind? I don't know, it seems significant considering it's the only conversation with a Reaper throughout the game.

It's possible he meant the Quarian/Geth conflict, but I don't think so. Fairly certain it means Shepard's mind battle. "You cannot comprehend our presence, blah, blah. blah."

Agreed about Firebase Condor, it sucks hard.

And Rio keeps crashing half the time.

This kinds makes sense with what Mr. Sparkles said in the EC: That the Reapers don't see it as war, but just as the nature of things, while organics do. And so the Reapers still see themselves as inconvincible, (like Sovereign used to see it) and so what the Rannoch Destroyer meant was:
We fight our little fight until we either lost or think we won, to only still be reaped in the end without any noticible effort from the Reapers.

EDIT:
Of course it could also just mean the Geth/Quarian war. But then...who is waiting? There was no real mentioning other Reapers 'waiting' on or around Rannoch. There was just this Destroyer. So if he's waiting for something, does it mean that he's not really dead?

Yeah that Gamble tweet could mean, no archives no relays so we would not be in a galactic war.

About Rio, that map is buggy in general but you might want to take a look at this.

I got this bug with my vorcha - I'd suddenly lose the ability to shoot, then a few seconds later I'd teleport to the middle of the map and usually get eaten by a magnetic banshee...

Oh yeah, le wild teleporting to the middle happens to me in every second game. In one match, the whole sound scheme even started collapsing: first the music, then one sound effect after another.

Ah well, still a better map than Condor. =]

Idk but I crashed two times in Rio an in both cases there was a Slayer on the team. I've given up on playing vanguard in MP. It's a PITA

No kidding!  They made a melee class a Glass Cannon!  "Serious skills" doesn't even begin to cover it.

Am I the only one who DOESN"T think that Condor is the worst thing in ME3 besides the endings?

Unlike the endings, Condor sucks for me because, unlike most of the other MP maps, it is rather realistic:

Realistic in the sense, that, that's what a chaotic battlefield will rather look like. And it doesn't have such concrete height levels as the other maps. And that's what makes it difficult for me: it has continious height levels, less symmetry => more difficult to watch your ass while not losing the orientiation.

The endings aren't realistic. :P

Condor forces you to move and rely on team-mates, just like a real fight would. Most people don't like it because they can't farm easily on it but that is sort of the point. Lots of places to hide and set up ambushes but easy to get caught by ambushes from the enemy if you're not watching your six. Plus the epic space battle with Palaven in the distance really gives you that "This is a real freaking battlefield" atmosphere. You can see what you're fighting for and that's enough motivation for me.
