How is that even possible? The gear you get in chapter 1 is absolute crap in comparison to what you can get in chapter 3...

...apparently some of the chests spawn completely random items.  I found a diagram for the magical steel sword "Devil" in the Asylum:

Damage 52-56, Vigor +1, Stun + 8%, Vigor regeneration during combat +10%, Damage Bonus on signs +15
Requires, 14 x Iron ore, 2 x leather, 2 x timber, 2 x Essence of Death, 4 x Essence of Water

I had all the components already. The sword's got two upgrade slots as well.  Needless to say I never used anything else, or even found anything else that could compete with it through the entire game.

Now back on topic, if not exactly new...

The Twitter thread and the developer comments there are really starting to intrigue me.  So the Bioware staff are working on a DLC which involves the entire writing team and three musical composers, and they're dropping hints like

twitter.com/Sjosz/status/268873079902568448
"Yes, with @rick_D_knowles 's help just made a self regulating little logic system that will make [redacted] far better. :D"

twitter.com/SamHulick/status/276114356650008577
"Tossing in piano and muted strings for this one particular piece. High potential for tears. #ME3DLC"

twitter.com/GambleMike/status/271676189956001792
Planned to sit down this morning for a few minutes and play through a cool feature for a new DLC. 2 hours later...still playing :)

I can't wait to see where this is going, because it sounds like it's going to have a much bigger impact than any of the other DLC so far.  Apparently Seth Green and Raphael Sbarge have been confirmed as returning for voice work - OK, so Joker was fairly obviously going to happen, but the Virmire Survivor is now all but confirmed as well.  Will we get more romance dialogue?  I'll be waiting with baited breath for if/when we get confirmation of other voice actors.  Martin Sheen?  Keith Szarabajka?

The "cool new feature" is interesting too.  I'm wondering if we're going to see a mini-game of some sorts make an appearance, maybe even the Normandy poker table in use?

EA likes money. This is being used against IT now? Uh, okay. Let's have a hypothetical situation.

Bioware makes a game that can't possibly have a decent sequel, and pisses off fans so much that all the good will they had is now gone. EA doesn't make any more money off the franchise.

Bioware makes a game that revolutionizes how games interact with the audience, and springs a huge suprise on everyone and also extends the lifespan of the franchise. Initial fan outrage is replaced with awe, and Bioware becomes even more famous. EA makes tonnes more money.

Which is more likely, based on EA's love of money? Hmmm...

Again, as has already been voiced: this could be a very strong, opinion-changing DLC, but setting it up to be "IT-or-nothing" is a bad move.

Agreed, there's nothing to indicate what it is. Bigger than the others is the only impression I'm getting.

Honestly with the theory that Shepard is actually the Catalyst, Javik may still be the Catalyst as well.  Just the Catalyst from last Cycle.

Either that or the Reapers laugh maniacally when they realise they've finally got their hands on the thing they needed for the Prothean Reaper.  ...and then realise they threw away all the Collectors as disposable shock troops.  Oppsies.

LOL, I was thinking something similar myself.

Supposing the Catalyst is what is required to finalize the change of an organic race into a Reaper?  A being which can lead, inspire (or manipulate) and determine the fate of it's own kind.  It fit's Javik's talk of being an "exemplar".

Javik would have been the Catalyst for his cycle - he was lost to the Reapers, and they failed to create a Prothean Reaper.  Shepard is the Catalyst for this one - hence Harbinger's fixation.

i know this may sound like fan fiction but i'd love for their to be a reaper base in dark space housing hundreds of 'citadels' and finding that ours is not the only galaxy the reapers plunder.

Dude, he hates the interpretation and thinks everyone in the thread is a crazy, zealous jagoff.  That won't change.

So, did anyone else fall to his/her knees while suppressing a squee of delight when s/he read the announcement of the new DLC? No? Just me? Um, wow, this is a bit awkward.

Still your opinion.

Don't start antagonizing him. We've actually got a civil conversation going.

I wasn't; I just read "It IS better than ME in all these departments" which I took issue with...as it is only an opinion.

Yes, all of what I said was opinion, except for the "actual consequences" part, that's just a fact.

I dunno, I feel you're being a bit harsh. I see where you're coming from, but there were some consequences!

Also, I CAN FEEL A BIG MOMENT COMING FOR IT

This DLC will be it I feel. Either we are right or we are wrong. Whatever the outcome, it's been a good ride

Oh yes, just like the IT would either be right or wrong when the EC was released, and look at what happened then. :P

That said, I actually do hope that the next DLC will be the IT DLC, but I won't get my hopes up. The last time I did that, I got the EC. Better to be pleasantly surprised than to be let down again.

EDIT: Top!

"Hate" is a strong word. I don't hate many things. I don't use the word "hate" lightly. I don't hate the IT. I strongly oppose the IT though.
