Are you talking about the whole "what is canon" debate? I was right in that. I had 2 quotes to back me up, while the opposition had nothing.

No. Before that you said it was a fact and not an opinion that everything that could possibly be considered wrong with the game was bad writing.

We have proven IT. It's not required that Bioware officially announces "Shepard's being indoctrinated at the end!" for it to be true. That's how literature works.

It's been proven as a valid interpretation. That does not make other interpretations wrong by default.

True, I wasn't trying to imply that. I believe what I was getting at was the the Literal Theory is not default and must be held to the same standards of "proof" (for lack of a better word) as IT. And all other theories.

Dream planet stands in stark contrast to Shepard's nightmares:
Night/Day
Dead forest/lush forest
Oily shadows, whispers from dead crew members/Shepards crew alive, no whispers
Cloudy sky/Clear sky

It's symbolic that the Normandy is trapped on dream planet, could be an analogy to Shepard being trapped in his mind. No matter what choice you make the dream planet scene happens. Only difference is in control Shepard wakes up.

Interesting! even when people insist he's overcoming PTSD, the lush garden world would be described as the "Happy Place", you know, that hypnosis method dealing with PTSD. which is ofcourse, only happens in one's mind.

So, you're saying you would sulk then?

Sulk? No. It's just that my last ounce of respect for BioWare would completely vanish.

But don't worry. It will never come to that. There will never be a big IT reveal. I'm 99,9 percent certain of it.

Strange.  That quote seems like a bit of an epic sulk to me.

But yeah, don't worry.  I'm 99.9 percent certain there won't be a "big IT reveal either".

And I'm OK with that.  /Garrus

Same question for you: What would you do if they reveal the IT is false?

And what if they never reveal the IT but also never tell us whether it's false or not?

If they never reveal it, then it's obviously true.

If they come out and say it isn't true, they're obviously lying.

If they showed us in game that it wasn't true, it would all depend on the way they did that and how it would possibly make me reconsider my interpretation of the entire trilogy.

So, a game developer successfully having their fans willingly side with the antagonists wouldn't be mind blowingly awesome to you?

I didn't willingly side with any antagonist.

The Catalyst as it is right now is already a giant ass-pull. The IT would only be an even bigger ass-pull in my opinion. If the IT was intended, than ME3 is truly badly written, even more so than if the IT was never intended. The IT would only make the writing of ME3 worse in my opinion. If ME3 was supposed ot foreshadow something like IT then it did a ******-poor job at it.

THAT is certainly not how literature works. In literature, there exist different interpretations. Some may be better than others, but they're still interpretations. Until the creator of the work of literature says otherwise, an interpretation is all it remains. If the creator says that interpretations is wrong, it's wrong beyond a shadow of doubt.

"The indoctrination theory remains a valid possibility for the ending."

YES! That's what it is! What's so hard to understand? It's a valid POSSIBILITY! do you not understand?!

tangythang asked me to post this, I believe it is concept art for the starchild.

A few things stick out. First the kid still looked creepy even in early drawings. They originally wanted the kid to look like default male Shep.

Also in the second picture the child is wearing a jacket with "Shepard" on it.

The joke will so be on the literalists.

They call us delusional, but I'm pretty sure we'll see how the literary interpretation was delusional.

What is a "Literal Theory"? I've never heard of that. Must be something you ITers made up, just like the Indoctrination Theory. Am I correct?

We're still on the "If IT is proven right" line of thought, which makes what I said correct. And IT has been foreshadowed since Eden Prime, try again.

You can prove evolution, but you can't prove IT, because in this case, there is a god. That god is BioWare. The only way to know that IT is right is by "god" saying so. If "god" doesn't say so, then the IT is not true, but a valid interpretation, therefore you can't know if it's right. You simply believe it to be right.

Oh come on... Bioware is just having a laugh at us. There are some hilarious jokes in the dialogue about the catalyst being introduced as a personal assistance mech instead of an AI with Reaper based code. They're even joking about the AI telling us what reality is. About the Shepard VI not believing the Reapers can be beaten and being only 7% accurate to the real Shepard. About "some kid" spilling soda over the hardware.

You have to be a special kind of thick-headed to not see that for what it is, IMO.

I can easily turn that around and say that you have to be a really deluded person to think that a few meaningless jokes have anything to do with the IT, IMO.

In fact it may turn out to be doubly delusional. First Shepard, then the Literalists.

It's an interpretation, not a theory. Everything is considered real by default, until more information comes to change that view.

Only if I get the chance to play it at someone elses place who bought the DLC. And only out of curiousity.

I didn't pay for Leviathan, I didn't pay for Omega and I most certainly won't pay for "IT DLC".
