Why are you so obsessed with whoever Shepard's sleeping with being indoctrinated?

Simple. Beecause that would make a good story.

As a possibility? Yes. But Hanar makes it sound like it's a must have or indoctrination is a "cheap cop-out" Posted Image

A giant ego is really easy to manipulate without indoctrination.

True, bout doesn't it strike you as odd, that you the coup happens exaclty after genophage mission? And you informed of it by a salarian councilor - while Dalatress are not your biggest fan? And all cerberus activity so far has been connected to curing that whole affair? (attemt to kiddnap the females, attemt to blow up tuchanka?)

And in the original order of the missions which they had to change, because they didn't manage to fit in Javik, the Citadel mission came after Thessia because of the data from Vendetta. It would make sense that what we got is patchwork.

I thought you were not dealing in what-ifs

And as you can see without implanting it's even less of a choice or would you call Kahlee weak willed?

EDI: But this was not a statistically insignificant number. Ninety percent refused to report their fellow prisoners. Indoctrination should have reduced the number of rebels to nearly zero.

Shepard: Maybe word got out how indoctrination worked. And they made a decision.

EDI: I see.

So you are resting your case on a maybe?

Because right now indoctrination indeed is being used as a cop-out. It would be less so if we also saw goodguys getting indoctrinated.

Yes you're right, it's odd. The whole mission is odd. And killing the council makes no sense. Imo they wanted to kidnap and indoctrinate them.

Hmm ... putting in some thought - Shep has a "get some results" dialogue option when talking to Udina (I think only if Anderson was coucelor in the first place) right after the council-meeting.
I skipped it to not encourege him (or just to see if something changes), but the result was the same. The dialogue is like forcing him to do what he does in the end.

This is indoctrination we're talking about. Everyone's weak-willed.

So it's no choice afterall.

What? Yes there is, haven't you been paying attention? The Reapers simply paint their ideas as super amazing and the best thing ever, and your ideas are terrible and suck and I don't have the words to make that seem more drastic.

They make it sound like they're asking you if you would rather eat out at a nice classy restaurant or eat dead rats in the sewer.

There is no sense in reworking the story completely, which they did not anyway, and introducing other new indoctrinated characters in the mix.

So instead of doing the logical thing, which is capturing the Citadel and shutting down the relays to prevent Shepard to unite the galaxy, you know, what they used to do in the past and always succesfully did, they instead desperately try to indoctrinate Shepard?

I have to attibute this to video game logic. It wouldn't be much of a game if the Reapers just did that.

You didn't see it because you played as Shepard and it was you being indoctrinated along with him.

Well, maybe they didn't shut down the Relays because they were trying to lure the organics into a trap....

They actually did it the other way round this time. They activated all the Relays.
