The strange thing about Udina is that he doesn't really stand to gain anything at all if the coup succeeds.

Dear Mr. CoolioThane, please remember your own words about feeding ;)

I'm not feeding. My statements are statements. He cannot respond to my last post as it is final :P

They'll find a way. That's what trolls do ;)

Sadly you were proven correct.

Being right about the trolls never felt like a victory, hasn't it?

Well we do see Shep get indoctrinated.

No, as a matter of fact most of us didn't see that. Maybe because it isn't true?

Yes, but this is the IT thread. So WE do see it :)

I guess that must mean YOU are so much smarter than the rest of us.

I find it really f*cking hilarious that you believe you're smarter than the rest of us because you believe in some kind of derp conspiracy theory based on a crappy-written video-game. Honestly, it's quite sad really, but hilarious at the same time.

Um, Mass Effect 3 is only crappily-written in YOUR opinion.  In my opinion, it's brilliant.

I find it hilarious that if I dare to say something like "bad writing" or "crappy written" you all become completely blind on the issue at hand here. It's like holding a red towel in front of a bull.

Okay, let me rephrase what I said to CoolioThane, so you won't be distracted by that aweful horrible word "crappy written":

Ooh juicy! One one hand I'm intrigued by that idea, on the other I'm slightly bummed out. I was hoping that the only possible story they could tell would be post ending - as that would be far more interesting for me. Oh well.

There is also keepers and the secrets of the citadel thing. ))

He was a desparate man who thought the Citadel fleet could help Earth, though it probably couldn't.  He thought he could help Earth.  Even though, in hindsight, he really didn't stand to gain anything, at the time, he probably thought that he could save Earth.

That too, but we know how it turned out so that might suffer from prequelitis. Or midquelitis... Knowing the ending already anyway.

I hope we get a DLc about that. Maybe the one that's already in the QA stage. I don't think it would work in any future ME game because the Keepers are a key part of the Reaper story until the Protheans sabotaged the signal. Maybe they are the "similar solution in the past" that Catalyst talks about when referring to Synthesis.

Fun Fact: Did you know the bull is more attracted to the fact that the towel is moving more than the fact the color is red?

assumtions. And after the coup he would not have the fleet - it would simply refuse any orders from him.

Except I don't. I never tried to pull the "I'm smarter than you" card on anyone, unlike some ITers in this thread, who keep going on and on about how dumb, blind, ignorant and naive we literalists must be.

This is the IT thread, so the people on the thread are going to see Shepard get indoctrinated. We're not smarter, just see it differently

When Shepard, Miranda and Jacob escape from the Lazarus Facility, Miranda asks about who Shepard thinks joined the Council. If you choose Udina, she says he's done a remarkable job. Jacob then remarks he's not sure Udina did enough fore humanity. This might suggest Udina is not so much devoted to protecting Earth when he signs up for the coup.

indecision is as much as a weapon in this war as a fleet of ships. indoctrination used to cast doubt and alter the perceptions of individuals who are in a position to alter the course of the war.

The harder the Reapers force indoctrination, the more the victim degrades. It's often in the Reapers best interest to only get a hook in their target whenever possible, ratcheting it up as needed. Weaker willed and already corrupted subjects require a less heavy handed approach as they are easier to manipulate. Same goes for more physically or socially isolated subjects. Some victims of indoctrination are tools to be rapidly discarded, some are meant to be sleeper agents, others major pawns, and some are just being guided down a path of betrayal.

The Normandy crew are not easy targets. They are mentally tough, united, and under great scrutiny. Anything more than subtle influence would probably become noticeable honestly. To indoctrinate a crew filled with almost nothing but paragons isn't some small task when there's such an overall sense of solidarity and a true leader inspiring them to be their best

Not in those words you dont, but your attitude screams that you believe yourself superior. I generally like you, but thats the feeling I get from most of the things you say.
