Indeed.  For a deconstruction to be useful, something needs to be rebuilt from all the parts.

So...has anyone considered that Megumi HASN'T necessarily gone literal? That maybe she just wan't to try to fix a flaw in IT as we understand it?

Please correct me if I'm wrong Megumi, but from what she's been saying it seems like she still geniunely likes the idea of IT, she just wan't to make it work for the EC, primarily the part where people can choose Refuse and we get that alien version of Stargazer.

I don't think pissing off people helps very much :P

Yes.

Allright then, tell me what's wrong with it. Maybe as a fence-sitter, I can help find a middle ground.

In short: the ending does only distinguish between you used the Crucible or you opted out and even disregards EMS.
The task: create a plausible theory why this is what's happening in the context of IT.

Oh, I'm aware of the provocateurs, but you have to realize that the voice of reason often exits even in their point-of-view---even if they're obnoxiously belligerent about it.

Such as: Why would BioWare pull the rug out from the fan-base's interpretations this far outside of the game's release?  A few months out, perhaps with the EC, is one thing; nine or ten months, maybe even a year, is quite different.  How's that going to sit with BioWare's audience?

Didn't want to say something, would have only resulted in "see megumi is evil" :D

Well then we might have to go back to where and how this all started.  Imo both parties are at fault.  Megumi perhaps could have articulated her argument better, but at the same time I don't think it was fair for some of the posters to jump all over her like that.  And I'm referring to when this scism thing started a few weeks ago.  I don't remember exactly how she put it, but it clearly pissed people off.  Still, since I don't remember how she worded it, or if I even saw the post that started this.  But Megumi can seem a little...condescending in some of her posts, prehaps it's only out of frustration, but people still likely took exception to that.

I don't pretend to know what transpired to get here or how all parties involved actually felt, I just try to look at things from multiple perspectives.

Cool. Now if we can do that without slitting each other's throats, that would be marvellous.

Dunno about yesterday but the other days I brought up the point were either countered with "get out" or a big fat if that only makes sense if you want it to.

It shouldn't be that hard.  Why can't IT have a little reach & flexibility? Posted Image

Simple -
Shepard has not done something crucial yet, and he does it regardless of whether or not he is indoctrinated or not - the very fact that he is alive allows for this thing to happen.

In refuse shepard is braindead - and can't trigger the event.

Well I might as well bite a touch. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the insane pace people come at me but because I do lean on the Indoctrination Theory. I'll try and give reasons to why I think the way I do on things. So game on?

Alrighty, first on what is probably the biggest piece of evidence for me is the dream sequences that occur at intervals of the arcing storyline in three where the weird stuff happens. This right here was where I started to start going over things in my head. It was similar to what the Rachni Queen described almost to a complete match. I wondered why the kid was burning at the end every time and things started to click.

Please, get this thread back on track.  Pleeeeeeeeease.

*ahem*  Hey there.

We'd love to hear your thoughts, but already I think we're probably on similar lines of thought.  The dreams have got the same vibes the Rachni Queen talks about, oily shadows and a sour yellow note.  The dreams are definately focal points, each one is more vivid and progressively more disturbing.

Also notice - the first dream Shepard has weapons.  Second and third one, Shepard is weaponess.  And in the third dream Shepard's 'clone' (for lack of a better word) has no armour either, and burns.

Symbolism like a sledgehammer to the face, and still some people don't get it.

So an indoctrinated Shepard isn't being stopped from doing what could destroy the Reapers? Didn't I say something about plausible?
I mean were the Reapers busy at that time "oh I'm so gonna reaping this planet" "but I thought you were supposed to watch over Shepard" "ooops oh sh.. oh sh.. oh sh.."

Symbolism with no clear meaning, you can make up your own meaning behind it.
People can't get it because it doesn't exist.
