Whether or not you believe in the endings we got, Shepard doesnt know whats going to happen at that point in the game. Applying renegade to it based on what happens in the future is just silly.
Its like saying giving the heretics a chance to live is renegade because more quarians will die in ME3.
You didnt know that in ME2, so cant apply ME3 results to the morality of it.
