I'm not entirely convinced by your explanation, even though you could be technically right, it could stil be intentional. Even though still partially transparant in some shots, the colours of the textures seem to be correct... what should be dark is dark, etcetera.
By the way, have the textures in the transparant model not been entirely replaced by the infamous 'dreamglow' texture? In that case, your explanation would not explain how the light and dark parts are showing up like they are on the normal model of the kid.
Not that I have any solid idea what it would mean anyway. It just seems interesting.

If Shepard dies in ME2, he succeeded in completing his/her mission, but died. One can only assume that by the events of ME3, the Reapers easily won. It is possible for Shepard to die while still being Canon for that game. The trilogy is about Shepard, so if he dies in the story before it is finished, of course you can't recognize Shepard in the future, and since the player is Shepard, you can't continue. Same with say, synthesis. You complete the game, that is a valid ending, but you can't win because Shepard has been indoctrinated, the galaxy is screwed. You may see the consequences of this. If they plan on making ME4 in the future, an ending must be chosen from ME3 to expand from. ME3 expanded upon Shepard surviving- that doesn't mean if you die in ME2 that that ending is invalid.MegumiAzusa wrote...
Invalid in terms of getting neither the chance in trying to stop the Reapers nor getting the Crucible rolling.401 Kill wrote...
Shep dying in ME2 is a valid ending to that game (my opinion) could you please explain why you think it's not valid?
It would be a valid ending if we say anything that doesn't get you a critical mission failure screen. I actually would find it quite nice if the next DLC would be like The Darkspawn Chronicles" where you play the events from a perspective where Shep died on the Collector Base.
It's just that Sheps story ends there, permanently and prematurely. ME3 is the end of Sheps story anyway.

I actually did: it's because of the surface normals. That's the stuff which is used to calculate fake shadows etc you can see for example the folds in the kids trousers. These are not polygons but because of the calculated normal which results in the opacity differences.DoomsdayDevice wrote...

Invalid in terms of Shepards continued story. But as I already said it was bad wording, which I actually mostly corrected in the post you quoted. You don't know if synthesis -> indoctrinated, thus being that certain doesn't make sense in the first place. You only believe it to be that way. It doesn't have to be that way.401 Kill wrote...

"But what about the ME2 end where Shepard dies? That should be counted too!"
Low EMS is not nearly as important because it's simply a worse version of something else that already exists. It's like saying we should use an Avenger 1 because it's different than an Avenger X. The Avenger X is better in every way. Not the best analogy, but it works.
