Well then it's a trap home run. Why else would TIM help Udina. Well maybe it was to help humanity, and TIM was not fully Indcotrinated yet, but starting to, until he implants himself with Reaper tech.

Do we have any proof from anyone prior to the beam run that TIM is actually indoctrinated?

I mean, TIM and godchild both say he is, but we dont even think they're real, so why take their word for it?

I've never read the comics with TIM, so if its mentioned there, I dont know about it.

And the citadel fleet would have just obeyed Udina? because he is a ray of sunshine...
TIM wanted something that's in the citadel

Edit again: Yes in one of the comics TIM enters in contact with a piece of Reaper tech, that lets him understand some kind of old writing and gives him the famous eyes. And then there is this line Never question my ability to fight! I've been fighting them longer than you can imagine.

Hmm, ok then, thanks for clearing that up.

For some reason TIM claiming Shep was indoctrinated and not him on Thessia was kinda sticking in my head.

Alright let's get back on topic.

Was it ever explained why Cerberus invades the citadel? It kind of occured to me that a reason was never given. Either that or I recently forgot it.

The true reason was never stated.  My opinion here is that Cerberus wants the Citadel because it has some particularly powerful kind of Reaper technology hidden somewhere.  Whatever this device is, I think it ties into why the Reapers are taking human bodies to the Citadel once it's moved to Earth: they were planning to use human DNA with this device... or so I imagine

Here, this is for you guys, because you love symbolism, hidden messages and speculation so much.

No, this is not mockery, it's a wonderful piece of art that I seriously think people like you guys would appreciate.

Not yet as far as I know... :? I am actually thinking that Chris might never answer that question. It does sort of pin him in a corner. If he says yes, that potentially means IT is false. If he says no or that BioWare has plans that potentially means IT is true. The result either way will be interesting.

Negative. Remember, Cerberus had the whole picture very early in the game (Mars mission) and just deleted some crucial data before Shepard could get it. They knew early on that the Citidel was the "Catalyst", and it was necessary in order to control the Reapers. Perhaps they didn't know the specifics (which they learned from Thessia), but they definitely had the idea. The only reason Shepard didn't know is because pre-Edi deleted it from the Prothean files on Mars. That was the missing piece of data we went searching for during a significant portion of the game, but Cerberus had it from the jump. That's why they attacked the Citidel.

But Legion it makes no sense to take Vendetta at all, and if they did, then well the Reapers would have taken the Citadel before they attacked earth, but they have other plans in motion.

Some speculation for everyone. This goes back to the whole Crucible is a trap concept but gives a new take on what "the Catalyst" is.

What if the Reapers deliberately designed the Crucible to augment some component of the Citadel? They would leave past civilizations intact so that, when they invaded, intelligent life would attempt to use the Crucible to save themselves. The thing is, the Crucible is just an extension of the Citadel for some hidden reason. The Reapers true purpose is to build something with the Citadel, but they need intelligent life of variable DNA to make it work. Thus far, no species has been a successful ingredient...until humans came along.

The hypothesis here is that the Catalyst for the Crucible is not the Citadel nor a strange glowing child hologram AI, but rather ***a species***. I'm thinking that the Catalyst just may be humanity.

So, what do you all think about this?

I disagree.  Main reason: Udina was demonstrated as a suspicious character in a ME comic featuring Commander Bailey (Executor Pallin claims that Udina is working with enemies of the Council and is not to be trusted.)  All of this took place before the Mars archives so Cerberus was interested in the Citadel for a while.  The Mars archives likely contained more about the Citadel, but I think it contained info that pointed to the Thessia database, and *that* database had the Catalyst info

Ill give you a quick rundown.

During the Mass effect: Evolution comic. We learn of TIM's real name, what he used to do, during the first contact war. During the war him along with a friend of his were captured by a group of turians, (one of which was Saren's brother).
TIM and his friend were placed in a room with a large artifact the turians believed to be Prothean (but we can guess who it really belonged to), TIM's friend began walking towards the artifact as it began gathering energy, TIM ran to his friend trying to save him, but the energy released, TIM's friend got a full impact from the blast while TIM only got a glacing hit.
TIM's friend got turned into a husk like creature nearly immediately, while TIM only got his iconic blue patterned eyes, as well as the ability to read the markings that were on the artifact. He also formed Cerberus pretty much immediatly after the incident.

That's it I can't stand it anymore. I've been lurking since the creation of Mark III just to see if any progress would be made, and instead what I'm witnessing is the decay of a once brilliant thread into nothing more than a joke.

The thread has become about as productive as a fifth wheel on a unicycle. All I see is brilliant minds of this once great thread reduced to only encouraging and entertaining the minds of the neanderthals and trolls who now lurk these pages.

I ask you, what have these idiots contributed? the intellectual equivalent of a mosquito's fart during a gale force wind is all I can summarise.

So all I can say is "thank you" to the great minds that are still left in this thread, and if you weren't outnumbered by the morons, haters and flamers than I would still be around to witness your deep, though provoking insights. But unfortunately it's all grown too much for me.

Honorable mention must go to Byne; for being steadfast, resilient and tenacious enough to get the ball rolling not only once but thrice, and as for the rest of you who I also respect: You know who you are and I love and care for you deeply because of everything you've contributed.

It's been a fun ride; and although I still believe in IDT I no longer can stand what this once great thread has become. I am not going to harp on about this being my last post, etc. as I'm sure I'll probably come back and contribute at some stage, but until then: I wish you all the best of luck.

-Archer out.

P.S. Masster said that without certain individuals this thread wouldn't be the same, and he's correct ... it would be better.
