Why do I get the impression we'll only understand TIM's wish to take the citadel (did he even think he could?) further down the DLC cycle?ZerebusPrime wrote...
It would have made a lot more sense if TIM used the Udina coup to sneak men and materials onto the Citadel in preparation for the Crucible docking or the inevitable Reaper takeover of the station. Even the assassination of the Council could have served some higher purpose.
It also would have made a lot more sense if Udina's motives had been explained onscreen, even if it was a deathbed apology about being unable to resist the Reaper voices in his head.
Alas.
For me, it looks a lot like Udina was just a "useful idiot". Not necessarily indoctrinated, but certainly TIM would be able to use him as a puppet no trouble at all...

Your video could've done well with more space magic and less acid.
I find it amazingly hypocritical and ironic that this is coming from an IT supporter.
Yes, it is art, so is Mass Effect, whether you like it or not, whether the IT is true or not. Isn't it so that you guys praise the "art" of Mass Effect 3 in form of the IT? Isn't it so that you guys think the IT is "art" and that the ambigious endings of ME3 are really "artistic"? Didn't you guys say that if the IT is true, BioWare are the greatest artists in video-game history? I'm sure I've seen things like that being posted.
At the same time, this video I linked does exactly the same. It's an artistic video that is open for multiple intepretations. It's ambigious, yet the message of it is very strong once you start to see the patterns and once you start to understand the symbolism in it. This video truly is art, more than Mass Effect will ever be.
I thought you guys could and would appreciate a video like that. Seems I was wrong.

Heretic, while I agree with you about the video (which, to me, seems to be an extended metaphor for the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the underlying reasons behind them, but probably isnt, since no ones ever accused me of actually getting symbolism) being interesting, I think the negative response you're getting is mostly because its not relevant to IT in really any way, other than not being something to take at face falue.

Liberal, and while I don't "hate" Communism, it isn't evil, it is incredibly idealistic to an absurd degree and is unreasonable in a real world sense, much like Anarchy, it's opposite number.

The best interpretation I came up with is that this could mean that Harbinger is getting more and more into Shepard's head. The question THEN is, why can't we understand him like in ME2?
Maybe this is a strategy from both Bioware to us and the Reapers to Shepard to get the mind off the possibility of indoc. It would seem like generic Reaper communication, but at the same time it's confusing as hell to the player...as is the rest of the ending. A foreign language is always confusing, while clear understandable words like in ME2 were easy to fend off.
So, to me it's all signs of Harbinger wiggling himself deeper and deeper into Shep's mind.

That's it I can't stand it anymore. I've been lurking since the creation of Mark III just to see if any progress would be made, and instead what I'm witnessing is the decay of a once brilliant thread into nothing more than a joke.
The thread has become about as productive as a fifth wheel on a unicycle. All I see is brilliant minds of this once great thread reduced to only encouraging and entertaining the minds of the neanderthals and trolls who now lurk these pages.
I ask you, what have these idiots contributed? the intellectual equivalent of a mosquito's fart during a gale force wind is all I can summarise.
So all I can say is "thank you" to the great minds that are still left in this thread, and if you weren't outnumbered by the morons, haters and flamers than I would still be around to witness your deep, though provoking insights. But unfortunately it's all grown too much for me.
Honorable mention must go to Byne; for being steadfast, resilient and tenacious enough to get the ball rolling not only once but thrice, and as for the rest of you who I also respect: You know who you are and I love and care for you deeply because of everything you've contributed.
It's been a fun ride; and although I still believe in IDT I no longer can stand what this once great thread has become. I am not going to harp on about this being my last post, etc. as I'm sure I'll probably come back and contribute at some stage, but until then: I wish you all the best of luck.

P.S. Masster said that without certain individuals this thread wouldn't be the same, and he's correct ... it would be better.
I have to say I agree with you Salient, and I know I haven’t been helping lately with some of my comments and for that I apologise. I’m hoping Leviathan causes another speculation boom, there’s been nothing new to talk about for over a month and whenever something is brought up to speculate over it’s normally something that’s been speculated over 100’s of times already. I really hope after Leviathan is released this thread goes back to the way it used to be.

Was it ever explained why Cerberus invades the citadel? It kind of occured to me that a reason was never given. Either that or I recently forgot it.
Never explained. I suspect we'll find out when we retake Omega because I'm sure it was the same reason there.
Well, the codex explained it.From the codex...
Councilor Udina's attempted coup will no doubt be analyzed for generations to come, but a clear picture is beginning to merge. Udina had contacted Cerberus to coordinate what was intended to be a bloodless takeover of the Citadel, in which he would force the other councilors to grant him emergency powers so that he could command the Citadel Fleet. He would then direct the fleet to liberate his homeworld, Earth.
Whether or not that makes any sense is another matter, but the codex did give an explanation.
We got an explanation for Udina's motiavtion, doesn't tell us anything about what The Illusive Man wanted with the council dead.

The video has more to do with this thread than you think. It's not a ****** video though and it certainly is not bollocks, you're just saying that to spite me. I'm quite sure you wouldn't say this if someone else, someone you respect, like Byne for example, posted that video. Then all of the sudden you'd be more open-minded towards it and you'd probably appreciate it. You can say that it isn't so but we both know that it most certainly is so.
The fact that my behavior irks you is a problem that lies with you, as I've done nothing wrong, other than perhaps posting something that is not directly linked to the IT, yet does follow the same theme as the IT.

Well, as many here suggested, it could be at the end of the DLC cycle as the final DLC. But I myself wonder whether they can KOTOR-like flashback every piece of hint to the final reveal. I guess it's neither possible, nor really necessery. Only some of it is really obvious. The most other hints and clues are so well hidden that even a KOTOR-flashback won't really help -- like for example the gun swap: if you haven't already seen it, then a camera zoom on it in an IT-DLC won't really be that enlightening, either.
Also, I want to say:
the amount of cussing, name calling and off-topic-ity has dangerously increased to the level where my spidey senses are tingling that it's not far until a mod or worse could crash the party and kill the music.
So maybe we should tone it down before we get toned down. Would be sad, otherwise, in my opinion.

I appreciate you standing up for me, though I doubt you do that because you like me (you probably don't). I'm not here to make friends though, I'm here to share a piece of art that I believe deserves to be shared and because I honestly believed you IT folks would be the proper audience for the video that I linked. I honestly assumed most of you guys would like it, that's why I posted it here. Even though that video has nothing to do with the IT, it is thematically linked to the IT. The video is about indoctrination and symbolism.
