Lol. Literal got a slide show.

Ah yes, the infamous slideshow.

Y'know, I'm fine with people thinking EC is an improvement. I'll even accept thinking it makes the ending more enjoyable. But I'll never understand how people can call it good or satisfying. It's the same thematically innapropriate options sprugn out of nowhere, just prettier and slightly better explained. And then there's the slideshow. It's what always gets me when thinking about EC. It's the most generic and non-closure-giving epilogue I've ever seen. "Wrex's pregnant wife gives birth." "Qurians are still on Rannoch" "Jacob is still a person who exists". How can that be satisfying closure to anyone?

They've got us fighting eachother instead of fighting them. You've done exactly what the reapers wanted. You're still doing it because they control you. You're stronger. Don't let them win. Break their hold. Don't let them control you...

I know everyone has their favorite, but to me ME3 + IT reveal will be GOAT. No game has ever reached out of the screen like this.

Btw, synthesis Shepard should get a screen with just him and a gun. Paragon and Renegade interrupts simultaneously appear. Both options do the same exact thing.

I assume GOAT is Game of All Time, right?  If that's so, then I agree 100%.=]

Ignore the smilely, I'm on my phone and can't remove it.

Dragon Age: Origins did an okay slideshow.  And if you survived, you could even talk with your party members beforehand and ask them what they were going to do next.

And even that wasn't true closure for me.  It was a tease that there was more to come.

Which is exactly what I want from Mass Effect.

It wasn't perfect but it actually explained what happened instead of generic pictures of characters standing around. Imagine the New Vegas epilogues without any narration. That wouldn't have been considered satisfying to anyone.

Either they're joking around or dropping hints. Either way I don't find it forboding.

Also Ali Hillis is always like that.

Just a random thought I had while reading the longer post of Lakeshow1986 :

If we reduce the whole events of the endings, ignore the suspicious details or the blatant inconsistencies it come down to one simple question.

Can we trust the Guardian and its assertions about what will happen?

Especially if you keep in mind the nature of that entity (obvious alignment with the Reapers).

Edit: Check this out.

Jep. A bad one. Can't help it.
But maybe it's a good thing, it helps not to get the hopes up to much.

I guess all VA's have to sign NDAs. But considering Hillis' and Hale's statements...
They could just be fooling around or they know something. We'll see---

The only thing that says we can is the slideshows not showing horrific slaughter and destruction as a result. Shepard hasn't seen these at the time so should not base their choice upon it.

I still don't believe that ending is anything other than an illusion, just that it seemed a wasted opportunity to break the fourth wall and actually get the player to believe in the reapers.

"Your memories give voice to our words, accept this!"

The fact that as soon as you come around, Harbinger leaves and the orders change. Once your on the Citadel and talk to Anderson your immediately reminded of the collector base with the bodies. It's like;

'Hey this place looks like the same place the collectors came from, you know, when you went to their home base and destroyed them'. Then Shepard immediately says that this doesn't look like any part of the Citadel he's visited. *raises eyebrow*

Then parts of the shadowbroker ship, the ramp to the Illusive Man's office and shape of the office itself were dead knockoffs. Traffic in the background being as if nothing was going on. The decision chamber including the tube from ME2, once again being plucked from Shepard's memory, and star brat. It all adds up...

The fact that 2/3 endings the Reapers are still knocking about like the trolls they are really says it all. The IT explains it all, just if BioWare will ever address it.

Good summary, it's nice to see something like this, and stops people thinking this whole theory's based on the smallest shreds of evidence.

That's not quite it. That's the question is literal, but in IT they aren't the kid's options, he's not giving them to you per se.

The choices represent Shepard's current goal, nothing more. The kid's trying to manipulate you, but isn't in control of what you want to do. That's why when he first talks about, say, controlling the Reapers, the camera focuses on it like Shepard just created the representation of the idea.

Only baby I want to see is Wrex's firstborn.

Purely because it'll be a complete and utter badass, and will probably headbutt the Midwife.

What about krogan babies? They're adorable and Shepard is probably the only non-krogan capable of babysitting.
