Perhaps they decided they didn't have enough time to put indoctrination in directly, and instead decided to make it psychological instead of just a game mechanic.

Are you kidding me? He looks directly at it for no apparent reason, does the horror face, and goes back.
Here's a Femshep one. It's harder to see the horror face though, because that is based on Sheploo, but it's still pretty obvious. I noticed it on my playthroughs. It bugged me. Kind of like Anderson's shifty eyes.

I'm glad they did.  An actual game mechanic would have been far too obvious.  There would't have been any doubt - people would have known straight away what was happening.

As it stands, we've got an epic mystery on our hands.  If Bioware continue to keep their lips sealed, people could be saying is it/isn't it for years to come...

Could be but I don't think that one 'just' comes up with a psychological replacement instead.
"Hey Mac, how you doin? Yeaaah, if you could just come up with an end-game where the whole playerbase is tricked psychologically into siding with the Reapers? That'd be great. See ya."

Exactly. There are a few times this happens. They also said they were very careful and deliberate with camera angles, especially in the TIM scene if I remember correctly.

I assume that the psychological aspect of indoctrination has always been
planned for the ending and the game mechanic was just an addition to
it.
However it might have been to tricky to implement it without being too obvious, or it was just too buggy/difficult to implement.
Who knows? I'd bet that this losing control mechanic would've been used during the TIM/Anderson stand-off.
In the end, we have something like losing control in this scene.

With regards to Restrider's poll, I see standard IT as the K option, though EC makes it a toss up between J and K. If the post end DLC doesn't require EC, I'll probably uninstall EC.

Well, if you use Mozilla, you can just drag the pic into a new tab (you do not even have to open a new tab for that).

The most literal interpretation I could imagine being somehow true either are G) or F).
For F), this is basically saying that the Guardian is honest and everything after our choice happens. I just can't get around people believing that the decision chamber is real. That is clearly a part that has to be taken heavily with symbolism. I'd compare it with the movie First Contact and the way how the alien reveals itself to the protagonist.
Edit: It's like people watching First Contact seriously thinking that the first contact took place on a pleasent, caribbean beach...

Guys I Hear voices in the Normandy pick up scene.

Guys Harbinger stops attacking Shepard. You don't hear any of his lasers firing at all, and a Mako stops to cover Shepard, and does not get hit until they charge foward.

What if th3e voices are the Rachni queen? didn't she say when the time comes our voices will join yours.

Just to go back to that Mako thing...

Does anybody notice in the Extended Cut that they ADDED a friggin' Mako getting overturned RIGHT BESIDE SHEPARD before he gets hit by the laser?
