I think that's the best way to do an IT reveal, they'd never have to outright say something like "Oh that didn't happen". Just showing everything from another character's perspective would accomplish the same thing!

Agreed. While playing it you'd notice little things that didn't match up to the version you know. At first you might write it off as inconsistencies in the writing, but gradually the weirdness piles up until you think "hang on!"

I'm actually really quite excited by that idea. It could be a terrifically cinematic and groundbreaking bit of storytelling.

I'm also now slightly worried that even if they do an IT reveal, it won't live up to how epic this sounds.

Darn it Blur, now you've set me up to be disappointed! :pinched:;)

Are you kidding?  If BioWare was going to do a reveal, it would be at LEAST this awesome.  You know why?  Because they're frakking BioWare, the gods of game writing if we're correct.  They will blow anything we can come up with out of the water simply because they were able to come up with IT in the first place.

Edit: As you can see, I'm a bit of a MASSIVE BioWare fan.

isn't that slightly what they did in the EC? So was that maybe a hint?

I hope you're right, I really do. I want Bioware to come through with something mind-blowing, that's remembered for years to come. I'm just trying to keep my expectations... reasonable, so whatever comes is a pleasant surprise.

Considering the exact length of time between December 25th and January 1st, I would be extremely concerned if they were not in the same day of the week.

The Mass Effect series is the only Bioware games I've played, and given what I've heard of the rest, they'll definitely do something mindblowing!

Really? I hadn't noticed. ;):D

I've been a Bioware nerd since Baldur's gate 2. Played that game to death, same with Neverwinter nights. Haven't tried KotoR or Jade Empire for some reason - I think because JE was on X-box.

My first BioWare game was KotOR.  That reveal was MINDBLOWING to my (I believe) eight year old mind.

So here's what I noticed about the beam run.

1. Shepard loses his/her guns and gets a Predator. This weapon is symbolic of breaking indoctrination. Shepard loses it when the squadmembers are evac'd, but his/her Carnifex (that used to be Anderson's) turns into a Predator again as soon as the destroy wave hits it.

2. Like Blur said, the Normandy does not seem like it would fit this area. The wings would be in the ground and/or the ramp can't touch the ground. This means they would be floating. After you hear this, you may notice a lot of obvious camera angles that cleverly don't show things properly I.E. not showing ramp and ground at the same time etc. At 5:52 you can see the wings pretty much in the ground.
Here are blueprints for the SR-2 that may prove useful.

3. Like MB said, there are creepy voices during the whole evac.

4. Shepard, after turning back to say goodbye to their LI, turns back around and sees Harbinger. They then stare knowingly at each other, hero/villain style. This is very telling to me because it points to this scene being in Shepard's head. This is an example of "out of sight, out of mind" - literally. Shepard (being focused on their LI) "forgets" about Harbinger. When they turn around, they "remember" and are suddenly back to normal. You can see the shock on Shepard's face and hear it in his/her voice. "Go!" You can see this sudden shift in the video. It's very dreamy to not have things present if you are not thinking about them. Harbinger doesn't shoot anything while Shepard's not thinking about him. Starts up again after he is noticed.

5. Why does some random marine leave too? Shouldn't they at least replace the people they picked up?Note the Normandy model looks smaller, at least IMO.

6. The mako is positioned perfectly for the breath scene.

7. It's hard to see because of the dream transition, so look at the screen from the bottom to see more contrast. Shepard gets blown back by the laser. Play/pause it to see.

What do you think?

Not yet (As far as I know).  One thing I know is that ME3 is up for Best Environmental Design (If I was watching the video correctly), along with Max Payne 3, Spec Ops: The Line, and Borderlands 2.  If you ask me, ME3 or MP3 should take it.  They were both awesome.

It was indeed. It was very out of character for Garrus (in my play through) to encourage Joker to leave.

Especially since the space magic wave appears to be almost harmless to Alliance ships now (not that the characters could know that since none of them understood jack about the crucible).

I'm still tempted to believe tha the EC will become obsolete if IT is revealed.

The LI goodbye scene is the only good thing about it I that would miss, and that's only necessary if was going to be the only closure the romance would get. If we get a proper LI reunion it will become superfluous, and we won't have to scratch our heads at the barmy nature of the Normandy pick up.

I still think that getting lased is the true entry to the dream, but this is is too weird to be real. I'm calling Waking Nightmare Theory on the EC Beam Run.

I'm starting to think the EC was meant more as a stopgap measure to make sure that the ME fanbase didn't abandon the series completely so that there would be enough people around and interested that they could delay the reveal until they were ready.

Add to this the unnatural speed with which the Normandy arrives. It's able to leave a pitched space battle, enter the atmosphere, and decelerate to a stop, all in about 10 seconds.
