Plus have any of you looked up at the reactor in the reactor mp? It looks strangly similar to the reaper red eye of the reaper ships

But yeah, its a great little bit of side-info in ME1. Completely optional, its not even a quest. Great stuff.

The question is...why is the Orb there? Why did it record this happening? And lastly, why is it programmed to transmit the data in that manner to whoever touches it?

Pure speculation time. Its either:

1/ Reaper trap of some kind.
2/ Data recovered by the Protheans and stored as a warning to future Cycles.
3/ Data recovered by the Leviathans and stored as a warning to future Cycles.
4/ Data recovered by someone unknown and stored as a warning to future Cycles.

2 is the most likely. Shepard has been touched by a Beacon already and so maybe is the only one who could use the Orb (if it was designed for Protheans - if so, why is it about Humans and why is it so clear when all other Prothean info is so confused - or beings that have used Beacons before?). But it is possibly something else entirely.

But its still interesting, and clearly shows the Reapers are lying scumbags about leaving lesser species alone. At the very least they were experimenting on early humans, and then wiping out the evidence afterwards.

OK, there ARE some weird noises on the normandy - like faint maniacal laughter and such.

Footsteps in the cabin are my favourite. I wonder if they're the result of something odd on the ship or if Shepard's hearing things when it's quiet.

its a result of that strange soldier walking around loudly on the Normandy (or in some cases next to the Normandy)

Guess what? I found that symbol that's all over the Normandy on one of the mp maps while I was busy running from a bunch of Reapers bent on trying to do me in. It's the one with the T78 written on it

Do you mean this symbol?

Posted Image

If yes, I have already pointed out that it is probably just a sign for a fusion reactor.
If it comes to the T78 stuff, I guess it is just a remote number. If I recall correct, even the whisky bottle you give Kaidan has T78 on it.

Don't you need the consorts trinket for it though? It's more than just a thing to click on.

Another interesting fact about this event is that you need the Consort's crystal to activate that artifact.

Edit: This actually reminds me of the chisel we get from Eve. Until now, we have no actual use for that chisel. We obtain it in a similar fashion like the Consort's crystal, but the use of it is still unknown.

Didn't someone do a flycam and find out that the soldier is actually walking OUTSIDE the ship? Glitch or lazy sound editing, or purposeful? We'll never know... (EDIT: Oh, derp. That's what you mean by "next to the Normandy," hur hur hur. I read gud.)

I should try to find that vid.

I personally prefer this. I don't when or where they'd work it in, but it should appear SOMEWHERE. ;)

You do.  But its an unmarked quest.  At least from what I remember.

Side note or question - does Eve actually give you the Crystal?

Because she's never given me one.  Three playthroughs, no Crystal.  She talks about it, and we become friends, but...  Yeah.  When does she give it?

I remember that vid. So either it really exists or we're suffering from shared memories.

Heck, I don't really know if she indeed gives it to you or not? Since have no inventory, I cannot really check. And it won't appear on the War Assets, that's for sure.
However, I've got the strong impression that she actually gives you the crystal. Wait a little bit, I'll try to find further information.

Yeah it's definitely secret, but that doesn't mean it's not important. You don't get anything else like that outside quests.

Oh, its very important.  In retrospect.  During ME1 it was just 'hey, cool' and some extra XP.

And we're talking about the female Krogan Eve's crystal, the tool she used to dig her way out of the cave she was trapped inside during her Shaman initiation.

@restrider yep! I just noticed that finally in mp lol.

I think it was DD who found a medical code for the T78 but I can't remember which one it was she pulled it from

Right, yes.  I remember now.  She does give it, when you ask about it.

So the only way you don't have it is if you don't talk to her.  I assume you'd still have it even if she died.

I read somewhere that it's suppose to be a homage to 2001: space oddysey intro... Easter eggs at best, what a downer.

Did eve give us that crystal? If so, that's one unused chekov gun I say.

No, wasn't me.

We never actually found anything special for T78.

I don't think that symbol/code means anything important. RR is probably right about it.

Ok - playing through the Geth Consensus Mission.

Two thoughts (apart from the usual stuff) -
1- the reaper code groups around memory clasters - and those that contain the memories of the morning war and that are important and crucial - If geth were organic I would say those are the memories of pain, regret, loss and sorrow - So is it possible that those are the weak points that reaper code (indoctrination uses to infiltrate your mind and take control of it? they do it even to the geth!)

2 - the more i think about it, the more I am sure that the geth consensus mission is just actually Legion taking shepard inside of himself - to clear away the reaper code - In ME2 Legion says, that his platform is a consensus on it's own.

Oh. Someone posted an actual medical code though. I had read it and thought it was ingenious that they found it.

Yes, it's such a Chekov's gun that I kind of believe that it was either A) part of a mission that got the ax, or B) not used yet... weirdly, it's a Chekov's gun both literally and metaphorically because it's physically unused and the metaphor it represents is not (yet?) fulfilled for Shepard.
