Depends on how you think of it. EC felt like throwing a bone to calm people down to me, so I think it's still valid. But that's just my opinion about that.

EC is like a sad attempt to clarify their "artistic integrity". Like "what do you mean the ending is broken? I think you misunderstood... here's what I mean, see~ artistic... right?"

I think Bioware made the EC to cover themselves so they couldn't be accused of releasing a game without an ending. With the EC, the base version of ME3 has an ending out of the box. Not imho a very satisfying one, but at least it doesn't have the "reel missing" feel of the original cut.

Now they are free to create a post ending dlc, and charge for it if they choose, without being accused of becoming the new Capcom.

So a penguin is driving through the Arizona desert...

... when he notices that the oil pressure light is on. He gets out to look and sees oil dripping out of the motor. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first gas station.

After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice-cream shop and, being a penguin in Arizona, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big dish of ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands he makes a real mess trying to eat with his flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the gas station and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem. The mechanic looks up and says "It looks like you blew a seal."

"No no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

Agreed, and I think the EC also leaves players who may/may not come back for other DLC emotionally content with how their stories ended. I could see how the original endings might have been intended to draw the player base back for DLC, but I don't think BW anticipated the anger. The EC does give closure to the "endings" but not the "Ending" -- in other words, it gives us the ramifications of our red-green-blue choices, but it does nothing to answer moments of strangeness that triggered the IT in the first place.

I've found several clips from that conversation with Joker after the Geth consensus mission. That part of the conversation we're looking for is missing in all of them, so far.

I'm 100% certain I got that bit of dialogue on all of my playthroughs until now.

You have to bring Liara on every mission (including side missions) after you recruit her. Swap out the other squadmate you need to bring along after every mission, so Liara would be the most used charecter.

Ive only gotten one charecter achievement on that game. It was Quarian Ally.

I always just did only the main story missions on the Citadel, then immediately went and got Liara, then brought her along on every single mission I did. Wasnt hard for me.
