IT will never die though. If the next DLC doesn't confirm IT, the DLC after that will. And if no DLC confirms IT, than ME4 will certainly confirm IT. And if ME4 doesn't confirm IT to be true, than ME5 most certainly will.

I'll bite.

I like talking about IT, because:

Discussing IT > Arguing with people outside this thread who you can't have a reasonable conversation with.

Also, as with any real world theories, nothing is ever confirmed. Back 2000 years ago, people had completely different theories than they had today. So until someone can explain to me how Shepard magically blew up on a space station, falling through Earth's atmosphere, or surviving for another 30 minutes with at least 3 liters or more of blood loss (big pool of blood after getting hit by Harbinger) and waking up in one piece without resorting to space magic or bad writing, then I'm sticking with IT.

Why stop there, why not have someone explain to you the plot of Mass effect 3?

The game failed way before the ending so it is weird you ITers only choose to highlight the ending instead of the rest of the game.
Unless you are trying salvage what is left of the universe.

Hmm.

Why are they here?

They do not seem to believe there is anything noteworthy to this game.

Posting on a forum dedicated to the game itself.

Debasing those who enjoyed it.

Deception? No, too easy. Aggravation? Self esteem related? Plausible, likely.

Not worthwhile talking directly to, will observe behavior for further study.

Me too, kids like to believe in fantasies because of being abused.
Delve into their imaginations and become delusional.

I hear it doesn't stop once it takes hold.

"Daddy, what is wrong with those persons?"
"Don't look at them, son"
Obviously the son is talking about the ITers, it's strange ITers in IT topic, it's normal people who hates ME in BSN beacause they have nothing better to do ^^ kind of sad.....

Well, to be fair, they haven't done anything to justify a ban today. The problem is their destructive potential. Once people engage them in discussions, the thread usually turns into an example of circular logic, subtle ad hominems, derailing of interesting debates and we should not forget the whole futility of these discussions.
A few pages back, someone just wanted genuinely to know, why the IT is still active after the EC. She posted three times, she got three or four posts as an answer. Everything was civil. That's how it should be, but it isn't with trolls.

TheProthean is a very reasonable person, perhaps even more so than I am. He never resorts to swearing, abusive language or name-calling. He always stays civil, although sometimes agitated (no surprise there). I really don't understand why you kids keep calling him a troll. Is it because he disagrees with you and calls you kids out on your BS? Is that the reason why you resort to "lol don't feed the troll" posts?

calling a group of people a cult does not make you reasonable, this was one of the first things he said coming into the thread

Pops in, says we only discuss boring things. Get's called a troll because of their troll post. Seems fine to me.

Well, you can't -- you can perform the "in dream" action, that allegedly has that effect; but at the end of the day NONE of the four choices have the outcomes we are presented with -- those would be Shepard's extended, endorphine-fuelled reasoning (reasoning also weighted by judging your amassed resources, which determines your confidence, which is why you can "die" in your daydream, if it seems likely that would happen) and self-justification, behind their choice. I believe most of us have been in a few real-life situations, where we, after having made an important choice of some sort, have found ourselves running through our decision, over and over, for some time, including extrapolating how we think they'll play out. In this case, I'd say Shepard is also being manipulated on a hormone production level, rewarding uncritical thinking - you're still right in there, in your happy-rush, mind you, even if you DID see though the ruse -- hence the illusion being there for every choice.
The shown actions are not real, of course, but metaphorical to Shepard's "persuasion" for the moment (bad choice of words, but I'm at loss for better, at the moment).
I am fairly sure you agree on that part and would be just as likely to lecture me on it, as my redundantly doing it now.

In my more facetious moments, I like to think that Shepard's just_standing_there, after rejecting the proffered choices and thereby making her own, is her enjoying the lightshow, knowing full well that it's just smoke and mirrors. That's stretching it, given the presentation, but what the heek... :7

I, too, used to see Destroy as Shepard's own addition to the tableau (well, they all are, really; each representing some seed of reasoning already present, but some more than others and some more reaper-sanctioned than others), but it never did sit right with me; It has the same flavour of: "the end justifies the means", as Starbinger's justification for his "solutions" - I had to close my eyes really hard to see it as anything other than just another slight moral compass deviation, towards one that parallels that of the Reapers, so when the Extended Cut gifted me "Opt Out" (which I assess very different to you), that perfected IT for me.

There are reasons (mostly legacy) why I still regard Destroy as beating indoctrination, but for me Refusing is the real thing - more on the nose, with less jumping through logical hoops.

I have my arbitrary interpretation and you have yours -- hopefully at the one year anniversary we'll learn whether one, or maybe both, in any way matches that of Casey and Mac. :)

I couldn't have worded it better. :)
The only downside to Refuse in the moment is the lack of a breath scene. The whole scenes after the decision are in my view still a form of hallucination, justifying the decision and providing Shepard with hope for the future.
Still, I really like the feel of Refuse in regards to IT.

This is the latest relevant post, back on topic now :innocent:

btw, I don't believe in Puzzle Theory, I don't think BW will add something to refuse as it originally wan't intended to be an option, so why would they have plans for it?
From IT perspective, I see Refuse as a sign of Shepards mind being broken
