Those flakes might be proteins that attach to neurons and harm them.

That too! The plaque and disintegration from the images I slapped on my screenshots are usually evident in dementia. However, if I were trying to figure out a neural representation of the fictional concept of indoctrination, I'd probably use the same cell symptoms!

I read somewhere that a protein is involved in developing Parkinson's or Alzheimer's.

Megumi:

That circuitry pattern isn't the same specific texture, not sure there's any conclusion to be drawn from it.

I never said it were the same texture. I said it looks the same. You also cannot tell if the texture in ME3 is basically an "upgrade" (the ME1 texture was highly repetitive). What you can say is that circuits on stone is strange :P especially if it's not on the technology itself.

I agree.  ME1 could only display so many things at once.  ME2 and ME3 are far more advanced to display things.  However, Like Megumi says you can't tell.  There's another reason, the pillars they are on are highly worn.  I took some time to draw in the circuitry green in as many places as I could recognize where the lines flowed while I was zooming close.  I had to extrapolate on a couple of areas where it was just plain obvious it connected.  On other areas the pillar was too worn or too destroyed to tell if it was connected.

The thing is what does it look like "on"

So...Geth Circuitry for a reference point.  Keep in mind the Geth have had time to perfect this.  It's just for reference - Circa today

Pillars with the circuits "off"  circa today but made at a questionable past time period where things are just simpler:

Now the best part.  Curcuits "on" thanks to my artwork to make them light up.  Granted I'm not the best drawing straight lines here.  The lines really stand out.

What do you think?

It's interesting, is all I can say. (The circuit board-like texture)

As for the beacon making a hum and conveying synthesis-like images, I've always thought it could be possible that it was tainted by the Reapers. Especially because Shepard hears whispers afterwards on the Normandy.

Would explain why the Reapers left some of the beacons.

It becomes especially interesting when you think of the Reaper horn sound that plays when Shepard senses the beacon on Thessia.

Maybe, but I kind of feel like the sound engineers are far from lazy, according to the comment on this article.

Very well spotted! You're correct... there's actually a few other places we used elements of Vigil in both ME2 and ME3. In fact, we laced the entire game with a lot of audio Easter eggs... some fun, some tied to the narrative and some that go pretty far down the psychology rabbit hole :)

Since Byne is apparently absent, I'll answer. Byne's 360 gamertag is "Bunster" so I'll go with a definite:

Yes.

What's really interesting is how ME1 set a lot of this up without us knowing any of the context for 3 games. By the time we play 3 it all makes sense.  The only way you can connect the dots is to replay 1 after 3 and you'll go holy glowing green circuit boards!

It's almost as if BioWare wants us to relive Shepard's memories via the replay to discover things we wouldn't have thought of.  For example the indoctrination codex doesn't officially get added until we're done with the Deralict Reaper yet we see evidence of this for at least 2 and a half games but with no context to explain it.

The literalists who don't understand what an RPG is all about says bad writing, I say ingenious storytelling!

"We still have teams on the other side"
"Yes sir"
Something about an extraction i think i heard.

Waiwaiwaiwaiwaiwait. That's exactly what one of the Cerberus Troopers says to Dr. Eva on Mars. I have been playing around with the Trooper lines' pitch, and there is too much distortion for me to tell if they are voiced by males or females.

What if Cerberus is voiced by Ashley?Posted Image                Ooo the irony! Posted Image

I think that was "We didn't check the ships inbound." Possibly Cerberus ships smuggling weapons onto the Citadel before the coup.
