Many literalists don't believe the IT based largely on a lack of concrete evidence.

Always found that odd since there's less evidence for a literal interpretation.

I don't see why people need evidence for IT.

I mean, it's so bleeding obvious.

You're going along with what the Reapers want in Control & Synthesis, even in the literal interpretation. How can that not be indoctrination? How can anyone trust the 'Catalyst'?

Even if Shepard really goes to the Citadel, hell even if the breath scene is on the Citadel, it's bleeding obvious that the stupid kid is manipulating you into going along with the Reapers.

I just can't understand how people can be so blind and not see this.

What, you're saying the point of the story is that Saren and TIM were right and Shepard was wrong all along? Haha. Oh, you're not, you're just saying it's bad writing and Bioware doesn't even realize they contradict their own story. Seems legit.

As an addendum to what I just posted:

This is what the main point of the IT summary should be.

Not the corpses, not the trees, not the 'start of the dream', etc., that's all just circumstantial evidence.

The main point is that you're going along with the Reapers in control/synthesis, the rest is all just details, including the breath scene.

Explain it from a story point of view. You know, doing what TIM and Saren advocated. Doing what the Reaper AI suggests. It's pretty simple if you think of it that way.

Dr Jamin how do you think it will continue if we get an IT confirmation? Another game? a DLC?

Because I don't see any of those coming. Maybe they'll just make IT a little more obvious and that's it. Just my 2 cents.

I wish I had concrete answer, but hopeful speculations is all I can do. As others have said before, we are likely going to be getting little bits and pieces of content that add minor changes and clarification to the endings. This should all culminate with the release of a final 'wake up' DLC.

This could very well be possible since we have this new Firebase Rio location, which is the only MP map we haven't visited in single player. Since a pre-London Rio DLC is highly unlikely, we can only guess that it takes place sometime after London (wake up, then retreat). Now this may be grasping at straws, but in the Earth MP trailer, the characters animation at points seems like it was swapped out with the single player models.

It's fine to not get your hopes up, I know we're all feeling pretty hurt about the matter. For me personally though, I still believe that they can still pull through, especially since they gave us hundreds of hours of great storytelling. If they could plan all of this IT stuff out so well, I just can't imagine that they didn't plan this out too.

We're not getting a final 'wake up' DLC. If there's anything Bioware have been consistently repeating, it's that they don't want to be prescriptive about the ending. Just accept it.

I wholeheartedly believe they intended Indoctrination, but it is their artistic vision to leave it ambiguous. Just accept that fact and it'll be easier. Stop looking for confirmation. At best we'll get more hints. It would be awesome if I'm wrong, just don't count on it.

=)

Well you sure hide it with all of your support and making a graphic novel about it.

But if you hate it I'm still sticking with idiot, yes. There's absolutely ZERO reason to.

Pretty much.  The other evidences are just sprinkles on top of the cake.  Delicious as they are, the cake is made from the themes that run throughout the entire series.  Reapers being merciless and cold butchers of organics, indoctrination being their primary weapon, strength of willpower being the best defense against them, unity brings strength, diversity over conformity...

And without IT, none of those themes are respected by the ME3 ending.  They are destroyed, thrown out of the window and even implied to be completely wrong - thus making the whole series pointless from a storytelling point of view.

I don't hate IT of course, but I can see why people would. Would you like it if there was a guy saying that everyone who hates religion is an idiot? I sure as hell would. By posting that all people who hate it are idiots, you only make more people hate it.

One of the most commons excuses for why control is a viable choice even though Shepard shot it down merely minutes earlier is "they didn't know it was possible". This is ridiculous because of the lines "What if I can?" "We're not ready". Shepard doesn't think we can't, they think we shouldn't.

Unless the ghost of a dead child that admits to ruling the reapers tells them to of course.

Hate over art is stupid.

There are elements you may dislike, but hating a work of art is stupid. Hating people is fine, though.

Oh, I'm acting like a child, Estebanus? How so? Really
