So is anyone else sick of CosmicGnosis' threads? I'm sick of his disingenuous assertions and Synthesis supporter logic as he evangelizes about making friends with the Reapers and inviting Synthehusk over for a beer. I find him more annoying than Seival, actually.

He presents reasoned arguments, and often his discussions generate fairly in-depth, quasi-philosophical discussion.  I don't agree with most of the poster's rationale, but the topics are interesting to read nevertheless.

This is Seival's latest thread.

Ok, so i made some screenshots
Here's the normandy QEC - note the panels on the wall.

And this is what the chamber whee the beacon in ME1 on virmire is (which is also described as he source of indoctrination, and the chamber where indoctrination takes place by that nice Asari lady)
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

There are also some pods in this room - crealy the ones used for indoctrinating the test subjects -
Posted ImagePosted Image

The pods, the beacon and the panels  are the only equipment in that room.
The beacon seems to be tapped into something -

After the conversation the panels blow up.

I like Stan's message before he locked the thread.

"Wow, there's no actual productive discussion going on in this thread."

I like the 'wow' part. Like he's surprised to go into a Seival thread and see nothing productive happening.

Don't make post a video of EDI explaining the QEC again.

Well, I came in to see what was going on, and saw this bull**** again. Guess I'll leave.

I'll say it now, though: the last time you posted the video, it proved you were objectively wrong. So please, by all means, go ahead and post it again.

Iit didn't prove me wrong. That's how you chose to react to it, instead of listenig to what is actually said thare.

I just find him to be... pushy. We get it, he likes Synthesis. It doesn't mean he has to convince us to agree with him unless he really is just insecure about his own opinon.

Then stop making post like "I walked in to check things out - and this thing is discussed again" - If you're done - be done, and don't be a jack-ass about it.

Similar things could be said about some IT folks.

The opinions in his threads are confident and combative at times---from him and other synthesis supporters---but at least they're generally constructive.

PC. But I just got an Xbox and am forcing my sister to play the trilogy so soon I'll be on both! Pretty sure I'd be cruddy on console shooters, though. Years of illustrating with a mouse has made my mouse headshots pretty wicked. Mailslots for everyone!

Thought I had already added all the active IT PC players. What's your Origin? Mine is ResJudicata77

Re: the dreams... maybe I didn't stand around long enough (it IS in slowmo, after all), but it seems to me that the Paranoid Shepard animation doesn't trigger. You know, the dodgy one since ME2 where he/she is looking back and forth as if hearing something?

I only noticed because I find that animation so odd, and I've been interested in idle animations since Crash Bandicoot whipped out his yo-yo all those years ago. :P

I think Seival's a troll, based on the whole 'ending hate is a conspirac to tarnsh Bioware's name' thing.

@demersal: No one agrees with your ideas on the QEC, if you just keep repeatedly posting it all you do is annoy people.

Demersel:

Regarding the pictures you just posted, those panels can easily be what is making the Holographic image you view in those situations. Hell in the Virmire room the panels are even placed so they match the elevation of the platform upon which Sovereign's image appears.

i do.....in a way.  makes perfect sense.. in a way.

Sovereign says they are a hive mind, the QEC is how they communicate with each other.  Cerberus's design for QEC in ME2 is massively different to the normandy in ME3.

I noticed something funny while playing Tali's recruiting mission in ME2. There's 3 paths one can take to close in on the geth colossus and kill it.

The middle path is completely suicidal and only results in you being wide open for the colossus and flanked from both sides by troopers.

The left path is a tempting position as suggested by Reager himself, but leaves you wide open to geth troopers.

Taking the right path is somewhat discouraged but it ends up being the best path to take. It offers the best protection against the geth and the best vantage point to attack the colossus.

That's awesome. I love it!

The right side is the only side that worked on Insanity for me. Too much flanking everywhere else. :(

I managed to use any path on insanity. My first insanity playthrough I used the left, worked fine, maybe 2 reloads. In the third I used the middle, was indeed quite hard, but there is enough cover if you are quick enough. Then the right side which in my opinion is as hard as left as it also fries your shields/barriers.

and kinda OOC when I think of the mannerisms my Shepard used to have throughout the majority of the trilogy.
Yes, the situation Shep's in in the last minutes seems like a one way trip, but come one...it's Shepard.
If a situation seems hopeless he's not the kind of cheesy hero who walks into death because the situation's hopeless, he's the kind of cheesy hero who always finds a way out...

And often it's with the help of his team...who, if you take the ending at face value, flee leaving Shepard alone and thus lowering his chances of survival.
So someone's breaking character in that ending, whether it's Shepard or his team or the writers themselves.
Decide for yourself.

Shep "saving" the one from the Prothean beacon on Eden Prime disagrees.
Also at the start of ME2 Shepard looking at the burning Normandy instead of getting into the escape pod.

I tended to favor the left in that mission, but the truly significant part would be what Reegar said. It would also fit into my theory that the Devs studied parapsychology in the development of the Reaper Indoctrination, should- of course- we be right. It is in there- in Parapsychology and Paranormal Research- that we may find more answers, should such be the case.

You, Megumi, couldn't possibly be right. It is an universal law that cool guys don't look at explosions... they turn around and walk away.

Shepard did the opposite, which clearly indicates that it was not cool- at best- and indoctrination- at worst.

And we all know that Shepard is a cool guy, so... you do the math.

Looks to me like he tried to save one of the VS's who was being pulled towards it but caught in it himself. Here the priorities are ok, and I don't see how saving someone is suicidal.
FF to the tube in ME3. There he didn't have any reason to approach the tube. And I didn't see any pulling similar to the one on Eden Prime. And it's not like Shep is short-sighted and needs to get closer to aim.
