I don't know. I think with the IT DLC we'll get something happen that means the Reapers become weaker and easier to take out. I think with all of the resources we have with regards to "EMS" we could stand a chance of conventional victory based solely off of what actually occurs with regards to the Crucible.

And how's that going to work exactly? Presuming I buy into the rumour that this mythical IT DLC will ever be produced that is.

Please explain how, CT.

Dude, I'm not a writer. As I said in a previous post, I'm just spitballing. Did you mean for your post to sound as vitriolic as it did?

By all means spitball with existing evidence then, not wishes and unicorns. No, I actually meant it to be totally caustic. NOT! Sheesh, "dude," grow a slightly thicker skin if you're gonna be throwing around wish-theory disguised as IT.

And in case my sarcasm (in the above pargraph) didn't translate: No, there was in fact NO vitriol meant in the quoted post. I'd just like you to actually make an effort to back what you said up with something logical and/or conforming with general IT. Anything, actually.

Hah, poor guy.  Well, I tend to agree with you.  As I've said before, a prequel series just doesn't make sense; I don't see how you make one with humanity fully entered into the ME universe; the only plausible time seems to be First Contact War and I just don't see that being an easy one write.

First contact war would make a better film than a game. It'd also probably be a better film than ME1.

Banshee's big huge video (when he's done his PC playthrough... someday) will be like that. It'll be like the Choose Wisely video in concept, but just the normal ending with relevant quotes overlayed, as if Shepard is remembering what his friends (and enemies) have said.

Sounds rather similar to the 'There is only one choice' video, but I'll probably watch it anyway.

OOPS I meant that one, not Choose Wisely Posted Image

If they do finally bring this IP to the screen, I think it'd make an ideal entry point.  But as a context for a game?  It could be done well, I'm sure.  But what a lowering of the stakes!  And again, we know how it ends.  And it'd just be turians vs. humans, none of the lovely diversity of the ME universe on display.  And there would be only one major battle, as I recall.

Wow. I was using the fact that the Citadel was a relay before it got hax0red...and maybe the Crucible, WHICH NOONE KNOWS WHAT IT DOES, could change the Relay properties to perhaps reinforce us or something.

I'm sorry I haven't got evidence to back this up; as I said, it's spitballing a theory.

"wish-theory" or just throwing ideas out there. If you're going to be a **** about it....

How does my theory for what COULD happen after we wake up not conform to IT? Stop being a ****head

Remember that discussing IT, and discussing possible post-end content that relies on IT are two seperate things. Anything to do with post-end will have little basis, because there's little to base it on.

Agreed. There not enough meat in the plot of the FC war to sustain a game, but for a 90 minute movie it's perfect.

@Coolio - Thanks for the bump:D

Last I heard, the ME movie will be about MaleShep and Joker wont be played by Seth Green.

Why would I even watch a movie with a fake Joker?

The Protheans tried the attrition thing.  It, uhh, didn't end well.

Yes, but they were Mandelbrot-eyed astro-fascists.
All kidding aside, yeah, point taken.

I know, right?  I wanted an option to tell Javik that he's only pissed because the Reapers beat the Protheans at their own evil game.

I think I pointed out something similar a while back.  The Protheans are exactly like the Reapers in so many ways its incredible.  They have a "join us or die" policy when conquering their enemies (i.e. everyone remotely a threat to them) while influencing weaker civilisations into doing what they want in the long term.  They have an inflexible mindset based on homogenisatised 'perfection' to the point where they all look the same, and are equally arrogant about 'lesser species'.  And they were quickly approaching the level of the Reaper's technology.

No wonder Javik is pissed.  The Reapers upstaged his people at their own game!

And all of those are the reasons we're doing better than them. That says something about the Reapers too.

The Protheans are very different to the Reapers, they give everyone a choice.
The Reapers do not, the Reapers have no care.

The whole "seeming like victims but then revealed to have a nasty streak" is kind of a theme.  Quarians; seem like victims until you find out they tried to wipe out the Geth.  Protheans; seem like victims until militant chauvinism is unveiled.  Levis; seemed like victims until that whole "tribute" and "enthrallment" bit came out.

It's almost like you shouldn't just trust someone who claims to have good intentions just because they say you should.  Can't think of how that could be relevant to the end though.

No, its a false choice.  If I said "be my slave forever or I'll murder you in the most brutal way possible" and you knew I was willing and able to...what would your choice be?

Exactly my point.  That's what the Reapers do.  That's what the Protheans do.  Remember how they execute 'traitors'?  They tear off their limbs and force them to eat their own flesh or starve to death.

Cool your jets Coolio. Unless by resorting to swearing, name-calling and personal attacks you wish to reinforce the idea that you actually got nothing.

No IT DLC. And if you understand IT, no Crucible doing anything either because the decision room is an hallucination. Reinforcements from where and how, if you please?

Same with the Krogan - were raised up to help win a war, won it and were honoured, but then decided to attack their allies, got defeated and had to be neutered to keep them in line - and even then they keep trying to stir trouble.  They only change because of Wrex, Mordin and Eve's actions.

The only truely downtrodden race seems to be the Drell - and they are apperently happy and content being in servittude to the Hanar, because the alternative is even worse for them!

It really is. I've seen a bunch of VA cast videos, and he's always so enthusiastic. Hell, he came in to say two lines for the EC, one of which was "Dammit".

I blame the people making the movie.

Yeah, I made a thread about it like 6 months ago.  It went about as well as you'd expect.  "But all people are totally the same so the protheans must've been good at heart and stuff, you're racist!"

The Reaper/Prothean war can be summed up in 3 words.  "Karma's a ****."
