nah, I'm still here, just been playing TOR.

That reminds me.  I need to sign up for TOR now that it's gone F2P.

Argh! I love that it went F2P and I really missed my bounty hunter, but the tiniest little aspects forbidden to free players, like hiding your helm, made me sad. :(

However, still made a female trooper because I'm a Jennifer Hale fangirl. :D

I thought it was great and I saw it in 3D. The pretentious critics don't know what they're talking about when they say it makes the props look terrible and the CG look bad. I thought it was beautiful.

We've been using the 24 FPS standard since the 1920s because it was the slowest you could go and still carry an audio track. Time to move on I guess.

I like my stuff anywhere above 30 FPS. The 24 FPS is a bit bothersome for me.

Something else I was going to note, that the scene where you get beamed up, the roof and ceiling kind of look like the shuttle deck of the Normandy a bit. Just a little though. The hanging tubes look familiar. Probably nothing.

There's no point in anything above 30 FPS.  30 FPS is all the human eye can do.

Bullcrap.  I've seen 30 FPS, 60 FPS, 24 FPS, and 48 FPS (On TV) and I can say for a FACT that 48/60 FPS looks smoother than 24/30 FPS.  It can't be denied.

Edit: I should know this seeing as how I'm a PC gamer.  We can actually get 60 FPS in things that don't look merely average at best (Like CoD).

Edit 2: And yes, I know you play ME3 on PC.

Two words.  Placebo effect.

Uh, no, not the placebo effect.  Have you ever played competitive online MP?  Frame rate has a MASSIVE effect on your responsiveness and the smoothness of your movements and actions.  That's why I can't play BF3 on High.  I need to be around 40+ FPS or so in order to be able to play, and my wimpy ATI 5750 can only maintain around 30 FPS on High.

Because putting people on a pedestal has never biten us in the ass by having it go to their head.

And I stand by what I said.  People that haven't been here don't get to lecture about things they haven't seen.

As much as I hate to help rip open the scabs of this fresh wound, Rif has a bit of a point.
Megumi isn't to blame for all of the fighting, to be fair, but sometimes she doesn't help either.

An interesting quote popped into my mind just now (from X-Files):

Dr. Burks: The man sitting there, may not be the man sitting there. In fact, no one may be there at all.
Doggett looks into the camera, doesn't see anything (just an empty room with a chair, no guy sitting).
Doggett: Come on, it's a trick.
Dr. Burks: Yeah, but not of the camera.
Scully: Do you know what it's like not to be able to trust your own eyes.

Doggett: What kind of powers?
Dr. Burks: Powers of the mind. Powers that help them manipulate reality.
Scully: Could one of these things make you believe he vanished in a room when he's standing right in front of you.
Dr. Burks: Totally, or disguise themselves, appearing in front of you as virtually anyone.

In short, the Starchild as we found out earlier isn't even there on Earth but seems to be a figment of Shepard's imagination. Shepard's looking at the boy, Anderson calls to him, Shepard turns back and the boy's gone. No footsteps in the vent.

Same thing here. I just thought the quote fit in well.

I'm with Rif on that. And if you hadn't been around to notice the change, you'd defend her too. Some say she's always been that way, but the disdain and condescension drips out of amidst every post now and it's become unbearable.

Arian deserves to be on that pedestal.  He's done a massive amount of stuff for us, including providing a reasonable business reason for BW to do IT.  Also, Megumi is NOT that bad.  There's been a lot of crap going back and forth about pretty much everything she's brought up.  And she's got her heart in the right place.  Execution could maybe use a bit of work, but what she's working for, challenging the IT so it can be improved and refined, is not a bad thing.

Look, I've talked to her outside of the IT thread via Origin chat, and she's really not that bad.  She's got her heart in the right place, it's just that execution really isn't perfect all the time.  However, I do agree with her that there are certain parts of the IT that should be challenged so that we can find a better explanation to allow us to create a better interpretation.  In many ways, I think we've become a bit complacent, and responding to everyone who doesn't agree with us with agree or GTFO is not the way to win hearts and minds and improve the IT as a whole.

Some of you are too quick to make excuses. Megumi thinks she proved IT wrong and we're all childish for lying to ourselves about it. She's insulting, patronizing, and sometimes flat out dishonest in her discussions. The occasional good point she makes is completely wiped away by her repeated antagonism and superiority complex.

I don't know, or care where her heart is.  I judge people by their actions.  Further, we are not "agree ot GTFO" if someone who disagrees is even attempting an intelligent, civil discussion.  That's just very rarely the case.

I think that she thinks that IT as it currently is is not right.  Who knows?  She could be right.  The thing is that we need to respond respectfully, reasonably, and with strong evidence.  Will we convince her?  Probably not.  But should we attack and belittle her for bringing up (Usually) legitmate points?  No, at least not IMHO.

We had GBGriffin and MegaSovereign here how long? And they were pretty civil. dreamgazer stays on the fence but he's pretty reasonable and insightful and never seems condescending.

I feel a little guilty talking about other people when they're not here actually.

I think accusing us of being complacent and treating anyone who disagrees with disdain is a gross misrepresentation. Her I'm right you're all wrong attitude is the source of conflict, not this threads alleged GTFO mentality. Of course some of you still think Heretic Hanar isn't trolling so I guess I'm not surprised. Whatever though, you see itor you don't. Moving on

Yeah, agreed.  Look, we should drop this.  I have my opinion, you all have yours.  And yeah, I will admit that spotless does in some ways have a point.  Maybe it's just that I like Megumi too much.  She's really a nice lady.  At least, she is when you all aren't around.
