Anyways, back to the previous topic...

I think Arian really does deserve the respect and admiration we give him, especially considering how much he's done for IT. At the very least, his unexpected return does, and if he sticks around for a while then the way we treat him will probably get back to normal. But for now, can't we just be glad that he's back, even if only for a little while?

Agreed, he has done a lot. Whether he's right or wrong about Megumi is minor compared to many of his contributions to our endeavor.

Holy crap.  I actually hear the whooshing sound as the point about Hellish flies over your head.

I understand the desire to be as open and accepting as possible, it shows this thread is filled with good, honest people. But if you're for Megumi staying with her recent shtick, then don't get mad when people snap back at her. It goes both ways.

As far as the pedestal.....
I dunno, to me, there are a couple names that defined IT to me during the early days when everything was new and exciting: Byne, Arian, Lex, and Rif. (no disrespect to anyone else- Love you all to death and OBVIOUSLY many many more are just as important to this thread!!) but those 4 always felt like the soul of the thread in Mark 1 (for ME) and call me sentimental, but just as I was excited when Rif made his return, Arian coming by brings back fond memories.

No, I'm with you about Hellish. Guy has gone a little off the deep end if he really thinks everything after Arrival is some kind of near-death experience right before the supernova.

Well, I think she respects me.  At least, I'd like to think so, based on our chats between raging.  Maybe you all just haven't had the chance to talk to her outside of the thread.

You cant use how someone acts outside of the thread to excuse how they act inside of the thread.

True, I agree with that.  What I'm saying is that it seems many hate her on a more personal level.  That is not deserved.  You can hate her on a professional level and for her actions on the thread, but hating her as a person would be wrong, IMHO.  I know that this is probably not an opinion many will share, but I feel like sharing it anyway.

Really?  Seems to me like she completely deserves hate on a personal level.

Well, maybe from YOU, but she's never done anything to ME to earn my permanent ire.

Remind me where the point was about you.

Wow. Of all the things she could have taken away from that story on the previous page, thats what she got? I dont even...

Also, you mentioning both disabilities and relationships in the same post is giving me an overwhelming urge to ask if you ever played Katawa Shoujo, but I remembered you dont like anime-looking stuff. You totally should though.

(I think at this point, I've basically become a KS evangelist...)

Agreed. Some of the people here are the driving force behind this thread but we all contribute in different ways.

Hey, why am I not on the list?  I still like to think that I'm the reason this group survived... PAX, I think?  You know, I gave that awesome speech in my Commander Shepard voice and was able to rally us?

In all honesty, I can understand why you chose those four.  And yes, I'll agree with you that Megumi is not exactly acting in a way I would condone, but I always say that you shouldn't stoop to the level of the person you're arguing with if they're going a jerk.  That just shows that they got to you.

Hey, no disagreements from me.  After that, I think I'd be more than a bit upset.  I can see where you're coming from now, and I'm... well, I'm not going to stop chatting with Megumi, but let's just say I can feel more sympathy for you now.

Honestly I don't know what to think about Megumi. I can only comment on what I've seen her post as I don't know her personally, just as the rest of you would do for me.

Nobody seems to give a flying **** about dialogue, but just for the hell of it.

Reposting some recent stuff.

This is after the Rachni mission, the Missing Scouts, Anderson on vidcom:

Anderson: Shepard. So I imagine you've wiped the galaxy clean of Reapers, and we can all come up for air?
Shepard: Not quite. There are a few complications.
Anderson: Aren't there always? Hackett filled me in on the Crucible. Sounds like you've got some knots to untangle.
(...)
Shepard: It's what you hired me to do.
Anderson: Mostly you were hired to kill Reapers. I hope you haven't been sidetracked by all the politics.
Shepard: Nothing I can't handle.

Also, Omega ending foreshadowing - for those who may have missed it.

At this point, I'm a bit divided as well.  I used to have her with Lex, Byne, and Arian when it came to friends I'd made from the thread, but after this...

Question:
I'm almost done with text part of my comparison, but I haven't started pictures/gifs(which would you like btw, pics, gifs, or combo of the two) yet. Do you want just the text, in which case I can probably get it done in 2-4 hours, or do you want the full thing, in which case it won't be up for a couple more days since I have a wedding to go to tomorrow? Which would you guys prefer?
Also note that full version will be it's own thread too.

I'd really like you guys to answer this, please. It will basically determine my next few days for me.

Lol Dwailing that list could be pages long. More recently people I play MP with like the Wonder Brothers, DD, BT etc are just as much a part of my IT experience, but those 4 have and continue to give so much to this thread. And of course MB! How could I forget our resident Krogan haha! Also, shout out to my boy plfranke who didn't deserve that permanent ban. ****ing sucks

Arian is back. IT confirmed.

If he's going to keep lecturing about how Megumi is good despite not having been here for months to actually see, then I prefer gone.

Woah, did you just... diss Arian:blink::blink::blink::blink:  That's just... not done.  That's worse than dissing Byne.  Even Byne would say that.

Because putting people on a pedestal has never biten us in the ass by having it go to their head.

And I stand by what I said.  People that haven't been here don't get to lecture about things they haven't seen.

Here's a few of your stones back Rif, throwing them in glass houses is inadvisable.

You're just as bad. I'm not saying that Megumi isn't acting like a brat, but you aren't treating this like an adult either.

I know it's like asking a fish to breathe air, but perhaps you could try being civil for a change?

I'm not asking anyone to mash their lips to someone else's ass, but come on.

Here's a deal, if I get her to be civil, you will too, alright?

All right, the pictures, and gifs for the ones I can find, will really add to it. To show how large my comparison is, it's only about 2/3 done with the text and no pictures and is 10 pages long on Microsoft word. To quote the Flag Zealots from RVB, "It's more beautiful than I ever imagined."

I should also mention, as a tease, that this will come with a special announcement from me when i post it.Posted Image

Hehe. No, but I might give it a spin whenever the time vampire of Skyrim pulls its fangs from my neck. Of course, by then I'll probably need to read up on what happened in the outside world the past 20 years.

Not the point, and I'm certainly not looking for sympathy. You said it's unwarranted that anyone has a personal contempt for her. So I pointed out why it's very much warranted, at least in one case. And if it is in one case, chances are it is in other cases.

Could you go back to the part where I mentioned "those of us who have been here for the past few months and understand what we're talking about" and read it about 30 more times? That'd be great, thanks.
