I don't see the point of whipping out another indoced person after they've already tied up the plot with Shep.

Yeah, this feels like TDM theory all over again.

Seriously, no one thinks the VS might be indoctrinated?

I said so since thread 1, was even in my signature.

Mass Effect was always aiming at accuracy, being believable and lifelike so as in RL coincidences happen in ME3. The VS could've been indoctrinated and a plan was prepared for them but it so happened that Shepard shot them. I think it's perfectly reasonable a chain of events. On the other hand if you saved the VS during the coup, their role will be revealed in the post-ending DLC.

If so, that would be a pretty awesome feat in making the story flexible enough to accommodate such a major variable. As I say, I suspect it's unlikely, but I suppose it could be a mind-blowing twist if handled well.

Just so long as we can snap the VS out of it somehow. Kaidan's my Shepard's LI. Having to put him down like Old Yeller would bum me out more than the original endings. :crying:

Edited for clarity.

Megumi - you took the screenshot on the wrong stairwell - it is much better visible form the other stairwell.

Looked from both sides and it looked quite equal so I picked the one I where was standing at the moment.

Everybody's indoctrinated.

That's part of the problem when thinking about Shepard potentially falling under the process: if s/he's tainted, everyone else around her could be. And I certainly doubt BioWare intended that caliber of speculation.

Why? It's quite straightforward that the most important characters of the games are targeted by the Reapers. They all equally helped defeat Sovereign. Sure, Shepard is the protagonist and the character controlled by the player which gives him a special place in the story, but other squadmates' resolve is not much less strong than Shepard's.

"Your minions have failed, Shepard."

They are just minions for Chief Harby.

There are a few reasons to believe Kaidan, Ashley, Liara, and James are indoctrinated.

The reason the VS survives Horizon is simple. The Reapers are looking for the best of humanity to "ascend." Ash and Kaiden are the suck.

Doesn't change the fact that "Harbinger speaks of you" while it doesn't care about anyone else.

Cthulhlu-wannabe? I don't know, man. Cthulhu is dead and stuck in a ruined city at the bottom of an ocean. Harbinger is out murdering by the millions. Seems to me like Cthulhu is a Harbinger-wannabe.

Another evidence! TIM says during a briefing for the Horizon mission that the Reapers might be going after Alenko to get to him. That further suggests the VS' mind could've been tampered with.

I know, it's definitely possible. I just don't see what the narrative would gain by having any of them indoced.

Wouldn't Harby be more like Shub-niggurath due to having thousands of 'children'?

If IT is true, then the narrative is already complex enough for god's sake.

Hello all!

I'm a PS3 owner and, for the first time today, I beat ME1. I knew much about ME1 already as their is youtube and forums to have the general understanding of the story line...

I use to beleive in the IT and then, later had my doughts about it, but not anymore! I am now back to trully beleiving in IT again. Here are some personal observations I have made that support my beliefs.

1. The conversation with VIGIL about the reapers, the citadel (being a trap) and indoctrination agents.

2. Why earth? What is so important about earth? Easy! MAJOR THREAT. The first human specter destroyed their "vanguard" and hindered their plan of arrival. Priority 1, destroy the monkeys!!! ...and indoctrinate the best while you are at it.

3. Saren kills himself? right? NOT!!! BOSS FIGHT!!!! How about the Illusive man?? BOSS FIGHT??? Anyone?? HELLO!? The reapers are about to be wiped out here and Shepard is ALMOST DEAD!!!

I still don't understand why the Illusive man revived Shepard... THAT makes no sense to me... Too much speculation... Here is a few theories I came up with;
a) It was the Illusive man's last ray of lucidity shinning from his indoctrinated mind to save humanity?
B) To use "reconstred Shepard" as a reaper trap when the reapers attempt to control him (cerberus virus backfires to control the reapers)?
c) The Illusive man just felt like reconstructing Shepard at the cost of Billions of credits, shady deals and lost of life just because he felt like it and signed the papers while being drunk and staring at asari bums in the Choras den?

Who knows... Anyway... What is your thoughts on this?

Yup, but don't forget Shep sacrificed the ability to run through fire for the new moves! Was the sacrifice worth it?

Man I WISH we could still do that. Not even for continuity, but just because it was so hilarious hearing that thud after a while and instantly thinking "gdi squadmate". Makes me pretty glad that Miranda and Mordin can't be squadmates in ME3, they always sucked at getting through those pipe leaks without dying. They probably couldn't jump a wall divider without dying.

The biggest strike against the VS being indoctrinated is, IMO, the fact that TIM gives the Eva the order to kill them. The Reapers wouldn't let TIM kill an indoctrinated agent that's in Shepard's inner circle.

That is a good point.  I think it's possible that Shepard's team may be in a state similar to Shepard's, I.E. possibly in the process of indoctrination, but not as far along, and resisting thanks to their faith in Shepard.  If Shepard fails in the endings, I could see there being MASSIVE reapercussions (See what I did there? ;)) for Shep's team.
