guys let masster be. he's obviously never going to stop doing the multiple posts so we might as well learn to live with it. on another note I would like it if the cerberus base was at least halfway a dream as kai leng's death seemed rushed. they should have shown a fight scene after you were done with the combat not just randomly cut to him laying on the ground.
Kai Leng is the most rushed character in the game. The only thing we gather as a player is that he is some kind of Cerberus elite "Anti-Shepard" and the only reason he ends up not looking like a usual thug is that he gets saved by mind-numbingly bad scenes. We see him on the Citadel, survives thanks to plot armor> then on Thessia, survives thanks to plot armor> gets a cameo in Sanctuary, could end up killing Miranda (or not if Miranda knows). I was glad when he died so he could stop poluting the story.
Im sorry but how were his survivals on the Citadel and Thessia plot armor´ish?
On the Citadel we simply stop his Elevator and he retreats through the keeper tunnels, tunnels which have been established as far back as ME2 to be maze like and unmapped.
On Thessia Shepard is climbing up as he makes his escape...
Sorry, but I dont really see the plot armor in those two scenes.
Sure he was not a good character, buti simply saw him as our battling face of Cerberus as they coukdnt exactly have TIM come running on his own.

Also I think he's well written. It seems to me that he was supposed to think he was better than he really was and be all smug about it. We weren't supposed to like him.

I think they're talking about the cutscene plot armor, having 2 or 3 fights with him winning when you are beating his ass and then getting interrupted by a cutscene feels cheap.
Same thing happened when you fought Saren on Virmire, though.

Yeah and I dont really count the Citadel as "battling" Kai Leng, more like chasing if anything. Thessia i guess you are right, but considering he had to get covering fire from a gunship to win I dont really have a problem. When it came down to a straight fight he was defeated...the end.
And yeah we were never supposed to like him the way i see it or even care much for him.

Saren had a build up, a story that went in crescendo until the end of the game.
Kai Leng feels like a fool with a win button.
Off topic: They nerfed the Piranha

To be fair, I saved the missile launcher you get from the fight right outside the temple, so I should have technically been able to shoot the gunship down, but other than that it doesnt bother me too much.

I don't see why people hate Kai Leng so much.
Me neither.
He was never supposed to be deep or meaningful or even very interesting, we had TIM for that. But they could not very well have TIM run around and show up personally because that is not TIM´s style, so we got Kai Leng who serves little purpose beyond beeing the sword of Cerberus so to speak.
I realized this from the start and maybe that is why he never bothered me.

Even taking the books into consideration, Kai Leng was never such a big deal. I don't see why people feel Bioware mishandled the character when he really isn't much different than his book appearance.
Cant speak for that, never read the books sadly, but to me it was clear from moment one that he was not gonna be a new Saren and never was meant to be.

Did you see the Thane Vs Kai Leng scene? The one where Shepard and squad just stand there watching when they could have been spending their time shooting Kai Leng. There were plenty of free shots in all that.

Dont know about that, Thane sadly died on the Collector Base in my run through so Major Kirahee took a point blank blast instead.
But as said above my guess would be that they were afraid of hitting Thane? They may be good shots, but not perfect (not even Garrus)

Wow, I didn't even know that pack was released already until I read your post. Kind of lame they make you spend at least $5 though, on Origin anyway.

Shooting directly at two people brawling? They'd have just as much chance at gunning down Thane.
