"Greetings from space! Specifically, about 45 kilometers outside the Cronos Station! By the time this email ends, the Alliance's first salvo should be slamming into your broadside, so I'm going to keep this short.
I've slaughtered two Spectres, wiped out an ancient life form, came back from the dead, committed xenocide, fought my way through a military base filled with angry batarians (followed by an asteroid covered by angry humans), assassinated the most powerful information broker the galaxy has to offer right in his lounge, have been part of assaults killing 3 Reapers to date, and I have a kill count registering in the "war criminal" heights. Your little performance on Thessia? Oh yeah. I'm pissed. And I'm bringing the cold vacuum of death to your doorstep.
May wanna shut that door quick. 38 kiloton payload is headed straight for it."

Ah, the best part of Kai Leng's message:

"The legend of Shepard needs to be re-written. I hope I'm there for the last chapter. It ends with your death."

Possible foreshadowing?

Have I missed anything spectacular? ^_^

Anyway, with the Leviathan DLC coming soon I just noticed something while playing "N7: Cerberus Lab". After(!) bypassing the containment system but before(!) picking up the artifact there is a hologram of some sort of Reaper Tech.

At the first artifact this holo looks a lot like part of the Human Reaper - which makes sense since Cerberus recovered the reimans.

But at the second artifact the hologram shows an unknown type of Reaper. Its bulky shape makes it (at least for me) look massive, hence I think we can assume that this is at least a Sovereign class ship.

Could this Reaper be in fact Leviathan? The infos we already have on the DLC shows that Cerberus is involved somehow. Therefore it would not be too far fetched that a Cerberus lab studying Reaper tech would also have gathered information on Leviathan, a powerful "weapon" that Cerberus is without doubt interested in.

What do you think? And I hope this hasn't been brought up before ^_^

The end of ME2 has been bothering me lately. The BioWare team goes into great detail that there is this variety of Reapers in that scene, and even in the collector base mission we are told that Reapers shapes are made from each species. So where is the variety? Where are all the species? The only reapers in ME3 we see are the sovereign class, destroyer, hades cannon and Harbinger. The pic that Riot gives is the only variety we have seen in ME3 so far, and as that we haven't seen that type yet anywhere else it is entirely possible that is what Leviathan looks like. Why not? BioWare has been giving hints throughout the game about it...why not one more? OR It also be a hint that the Catalyst is lying in saying that all the species are preserved. If that was true, and that each species in Reaper form looks similar to the organic version where are all the different types?

PS. Welcome back Riot!! I've missed your speculation filled pictures lately.

I'm pretty sure that only the core of the Reaper resembles the species they made the Reaper from, and the core gets covered in the cuttlefish armor, which is why most Reapers look the same.

It would have been cool to have seen the core shell of a Reaper other than the Human Reaper.

How would that work with the Human Reaper? Besides over the thousands of cycles and even in this cycle, there is a lot of variety. So I don't think that idea would be practical....

Add: unleashed the rachni/wiped out rachni again, blew up squadmate with nuclear bomb, sacrificed a dozen human ships/the council to defeat sovereign, infiltrated a party filled with th galaxy's most feared criminals, slew a tresher maw on foot, had a one on one fight with a reaper destroyer, and btw had a drink in lower afterlife

Variance thing: I think the human reaper was a special case and somehow connected to the original dark energy ending

There are many war fronts not witnessed by the player. I wouldn't bet on Bioware forgetting entirely about the various Reaper ships they displayed in the ending.

They're gonna have to live with it. There's nothing they can do about it. The reapers are helping them, whether they like it or not.

Because it's not like they rape the mind of anyone near them by their mere presence or anything.

If this wasn't a game where people wear bras in the shower, I'm betting Leng would've attached a picture of his balls to that email. But the car scene is pretty brainmelting too. "There's a heavily armed N7 in a flying car. I should jump on top and short out its electric systems by sticking a sharp metal object into them. A sharp metal object I'm holding. What could go wrong?"

(I posted this a few hours ago but nobody was on and it got overlooked so I am reposting it again because there are more people around). Before you read on, I already checked the beacon in the rejection ending and it doesn't make the same noise. However, I still believe many of the points are still valid because of the fact that it sounds like a beacon at all (read and you will have context for this).

I was listening to the Synthesis "I am alive, and I am not alone" song again and I noticed something. I may be grasping but it was pretty clear to me so here goes.

Throughout this song there is a regular *boop* noise that comes up pretty frequently. This noise immediately made me think  BEACON. As soon as I heard the sound I immediately thought of a beacon, it is just the sound that I associate with beacons.

This added noise is one of the only things that seperates the "I am alive, and I am not alone" song from the "Uncharted worlds" song (which repersents the unknown, this does not correlate with the message in Synthesis by the way). Seeing as it is basically the same song, would there be extra significance to this added sound? I thought maybe.

I am at my desk at work right now and I don't have a pair of headphones that will reach so I was wondering if someone could help me out. Could someone cross check the noise from the SYNTHESIS "I am alive and I am not alone" and see if it is the same noise the beacon makes in the REJECT ending.

If this checks out I think it would further validate Turbo's "Leviathan is testing Shepard's resiliance" theory. Why? It is clear that if Leviathan was putting Shepard through a test to see if he/she was worthy of his help then Leviathan would NOT want Shepard to either, do nothing (Reject), or side with the reapers (synthesis). Shepard must instead take action (either control or destroy, with destroy being preferable).

It was hypothesized in Turbo's theory that rejection would cause Leviathan to abandon Shepard and the cycle while Synthesis causes Leviathan to KILL Shepard. What does this mean? The cycle will FAIL. What happens when the cycle fails? They people store information in BEACONS. This beacon (please check for me) might be there in both Syntehsis, and Reject.

Deeper speculation? This would also mean that either Synthesis, or the Crucible does NOT work. The use of the Crucible would bring about undesireable effects. This would invalidate Control. But, in this theory, Shepard just needs to make a choice to act against the reapers. Whether or not the Crucible actually works would not matter because this would all just be a test from Leviathan.

Thoughts?

Edit: formatting got messed up
Edit again: not sure if anyone posted it already but the firefight pack was released without Leviathan.

I did try to get others to replicate my style of handling trolls, but it didnt seem to work. :( As for my presence in the thread, I think my time is best spent working on the video right now. Once we get the first one out, maybe I can spend more time here again.
