You know, I just had a thought. If it wasn't for Shepard finding that gun and coincidentally being able to carry it all the way to the choice room, he'd never have been able to Destroy the Reapers. He'd have been forced to choose either Control or Synthesis. The more I think about it, the more unlikely the odds of Shepard even having ABILITY to choose Destroy, let alone survive it, seem to become.

My Shepard would've headbutted the SH*T out of those tubes.

Heh, I don't know if that would have worked.  It would be awesome if he could, but I doubt it.

Mine would've picked up starbrat and hurled him at the pipe.

That's indeed a very good catch. He couldn't have punched the tube with bare hands.

He could of...but it would be depressing as you see Shepard beat him/herself to death trying to break it. :(

He could start with ****slapping the tube so that it behaves and breaks on its own. Posted Image

Holy crap! That's an incredibly good catch!!! It makes no sense!!!

Hey... what if the kid has a Carnifex dispenser? He already made an elevator out of nowhere.

@Pax Now that you mention it, that makes way more sense in a way. Right now there is no good reason to walk into the fire. If you were forced to punch it at least it would kind of make sense.

I think that would cause the Refusal ending, though... :P

So being condescending towards a Shepard that takes a certain choice, projects nooo attitude towards the player that out of conviction makes that choice for her/him?

Right...

"Why are you hitting yourself? Huh? Why are you hitting yourself?"

Somehow, you would have found a way. Hmm. I guess that makes the tube an airlock? Posted Image
@Dwailing Refuse and destroy at once. Pure awesome.

Isn't the breath scene just completely insane in the literal endings? Let's just assume that the breath scene was possible in the first place. Assume that Shepard somehow could survive the blast from Destroy. He is in the rubble. He takes a breath. Then........credits??? What???

If the Reapers truly were Destroyed, if Shepard truly survived, why not have more? Why not give closure? The Reapers are gone! The galaxy is saved! Why can't we see this through Shepard's eyes? Why can't there be a LI/Squad reunion? Why leave our Avatar to the ME universe buried in the rubble?

In my opinion, there is absolutely NO reason to have this breath scene in Destroy with the literal interpretation. Too many questions. Too many blunders. The only, single, possible way the breath scene could have happened, and have a proper place, would be through the IT lens.

My rant for the day is done.

LOL. But it makes sense that you can only destroy the tube by firing a gun. With out the Predator Destroy wouldn't work.

I can respect a player's reason for choosing refuse. I cannot respect Shepard's reasons for choosing refuse.

One thing I've noticed about us (ITists) is that we tend to think of Shepard the character a lot more than Shepard the player's avatar.

You may have inspired another video. I don't think I could animate throwing him though.

@Dwailing Others need to be able to do that. It pisses me off. They think Shepard does everything they want. Shepard has certain unchangable traits. /rant

Commander Shepard. The perfect combination of character and player. (However at times this combination of Player Shep and Character Shep can be separated.)

Anyway...be back later...

The long way is "Indoctrination Theorists". The abbreviated way is usually referred to as "ITers".

In that case you are going to have to provide a non-metagaming explanation for exactly how those differ, without unduly imposing anybody's arbitrary idea of Shepard's mental state, over another's.

I.e: You can't, e.g, cite slouching post-refuse Shepard as an argument.

Shepard the character would never give up.
Player, knowing what we know about the ending, could think Refuse is best.

Different, I.e. I can
