You know, since the Reapers are made of dead people, technically speaking ME3 is the Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse.
P.S. BatmanTurian, why you @Uncle Jo? I saw that and thought he was back here. Now I'm sad.

We agree with you that synthetic life is life, like all other life, but we support destroy because we value everyone's right to choose over all else. I wouldn't change my opinion of Destroy if it was any other race that would die, I see the synthetics part as irrelevant. If 50% of all life in the galaxy died I'd still pick it.
I can respect that. I disagree, but I respect it.

No, because then you can't save your crew.
Just to get some stupid scenes that you can look up on youtube?
Anyways, that still be three missions after the Reaper.
Legion's loyalty, Tali's recruitment, and Tali's Loyalty. Thats one mission too many if you want to save the crew.

Destroy - Killing Synthetics to Save Synthetics

I opened up those links expecting massive amounts of Bioware and IT bashing. I like that regardless if they believe the ending is indoctrination, a lot of them still aren't buying the Catalyst's BS.
Please understand that my intent is not to be antagonistic. I simply care too much about the legitimacy of synthetic life to choose Destroy and ignore the other choices. I don't wish to make any enemies. I just have different priorities.
And the same for me, even if I took the endings literally, so we will never agree. I'm certain a large amount of people would say the same thing. This all simply promotes a cycle of controllers, synthesizers, and destroyers fighting over philisophical and moral dilemmas that are not cut and dry and depend on your own point-of-view, morals, and understanding of the universe's lore.

Yeah, the Synthetic part is irrelevant. We know they are self-aware, "alive", if you will. The price of using the crucible is that it targets synthetics. It's not something that can be changed at the last minute. It's not something any of us really want to happen, but it's the price that has to be paid and sacrifices are made in war. It's unfortunate, but it's more pragmatic than control and synthesis, which are naive choices IMO.

Yeah, just saying.
It's simple though, IMO.
The premise of the game is: if you want to have a victory, you need to be prepared to make sacrifices.
If you can't do that, then you can't have a victory.
You can't always win and save everyone, it is just not possible.
It's made clear right from the beginning, when Hackett says he had to sacrifice an entire fleet to have the other two escape.
