Yeah, too bad Sith lords use red lightsabres. :P

Holy shisno.  I just realized something.  Remember the red stripe on Shepard's armor?  And how it's on the RIGHT side?  And how BioWare said it symbolized the humans Shepard would have to sacrifice before he could beat the Reapers?  Well, who's to say that it meant only humans? :o

Those are teenage girls masster

Who still have one last 'special' thing on their bucket list unchecked.

You know what?  If the world's going to end, to quote Jack, "I'm gonna get laid."  Honestly, it's the only way to go out, if there's no hope for survival.  Of course, since the world isn't going to end, I don't think that's going to happen... and now I feel awkward for posting this. :?

OK, I just want to say one last thing before I call it a night. Since we've brought up the kid, has anyone thought about what the kid on Earth could actually represent? I mean, besides Shepard's guilt. Here's my hypothesis.

The kid is a hallucination from the start, and his dialogue is meant to symbolize that Sheoard is not ready to be fully indoctrinated. Yet. Think about it. Probably the main kid line is, "You can't help me." This could mean that Shepard is not yet ready. What does the kid then do when you see him at th end? He asks Shepard to help him find a new solution. Remember, it's, "We find a new solution," not, "You find a new solution." The kid is telling Shepard to do that which the kid did not permit before, give him help. And right after that? He talks about Destroy, how bad it is, and how it's not a solution to the kid's problem. It doesn't "help" him, which would be a big deal, subconsciously, to Shepard, who still blames himself for not being able to help the kid, as shown by the dreams.

Again, think back. What's the first thing Shepard says after hearing the kid describe Destroy? "There must be another way." Now, it's possible that Shepard is starting to reconsider wanting to destroy the Reapers because of the geth and EDI, but I think another part of it is that he doesn't want to "fail" the kid again.

Now, there might be one final layer here. It has to do with Synthesis. This, as we all know, is the kid's preferred ending. His final solution (See what I did there? Gotta love Godwin's Law.). Now, there's really not much more I can say beyond this. The kid gives the option because he knows Shepard doesn't want to fail him. And in Control, Shepard is still going to replace him. It's quite possible that Shepard is now having a hard time deciding what to do because he knows that either way, the kid ceases to exist. So, in order to speed Shepard on his merry, indoctrinated way, the kid gives a third choice. A choice where the kid does not die, and Shepard helps him to achieve his "perfect" solution. A choice custom tailored for Shepard, who more than anything else, at least at first, just longs for a chance to go back and help that poor boy from Earth.

Now, I apologize if this gets difficult to follow at any point. It IS 12:41 am here, and I'm rather tired. I just figured I should share this since it's been bouncing around in my head for a bit. I think tomorrow I'll put it in the form of a blog post, which will help me to refine it a bit.

Edit: YES!  Top with a great (I think) post that's on topic!  And it's a wall of text (At least on my phone), too.

I'm just reposting this since I really want opinions on this.

I kind of like the idea, but the weak point of it is that I don't believe Shepard thinks of the "catalyst" in the ending as that kid from Earth. Know what I mean?

DD I think Dwailings point might have a subconscious effect, despite Shepard/Player not equating the two consciously

I love that you made that whole wall of text just to say "The kid saying 'you can't help me' means he can't help the Reapers, and that's why he can help him at the end, if he picks Control or Synthesis".

I don't know.

What I do know is how I will bite the dust during this apocalypse since I was essentially promoted to "Spectre Batman" of BSN by Jade.

BioWare will come out with a statement today, stating that Synthesis is canon and every other interpretation is false.
I will then take the blame for this saving BioWare from the apocalyptic ****storm that would've caused earth to explode in a cloud of troll faces and forum memes. Humanity survies. BioWare can keep making games. Everyone is happy.

I will be banished from earth and branded VentBoy™ for all eternity.

And I will never see that DLC...

BleedingUranium as I said why does the leader of the Reapers take the form of the child because it doesn't need help/ is using the child to lower Shepard's guard down.

Purple is clearly the best lightsaber color.

Dual wielding is also better than single saber or double bladed.

Hey Banshee, what's up with that signature? Jade?

From 'Down Under'? =P

Yeah, the same Jade. It comes from a thread where some people posted pictures of themselves in real life for fun, and someone photoshop'd some people including Jade into asari. Jokes ensued about romancing herself and I have leet Paint skills, so I made a banner for it :P

Well byne I like lightsabers as my personal weapons choice, but ya I liked that in 2 you can tell Attom about your lightsaber, and soon find out a woman Jedi master Artiems has your lightsaber.

So what does everyone plan on doing after IT happence?

Will we see eachother until the next me game, or go to the off topic thread, and continue our daily talk?

I will simply move the 'Was' two words to the right and remove the '?' from the thread title, and we will continue on as usual.
